I had Republic out to give me a quote to replace water heaters and put in a kitchen sink. I thought the water heater quote was high, but I hadn't researched how much a water heater was. I already had a kitchen sink and just needed them to install. The quote to install the kitchen sink was $3300. Again, I had already bought the sink - this was just to install a standard kitchen sink. Needless to say, I refused their services and got a much more reasonable plumber. read more

My elderly mother was told that she needed her whole unit replaced and there was no Freon in it and was going to charge $1200 to charge it up or to replace it for 10,000. She called a new company and they came out and said there was a pinhole leak and that it still had 3/4 of a tank of Freon. They charged her $150 to service it and get it in perfect working order. We recently had our air conditioning unit replaced by Republic Air & Heating and we are very happy with the results. They came in before their scheduled time and worked until the job was complete. Had a hiccup, but they fixed it and sent workers out to follow up to make sure everything was ok, and it was. Jose V was my technician. He ultimately got the job done. He was not the friendliest and was confrontational a couple of times. He also threw in $189 maintenance package on the price that I did not realize that he had done. He did not tell me about it. Can you say fraud?! I did not even realize it until I called their office to complain about Jose V and how expensive their service was. I know prices have gone up because of Covid but I thought their price was extreme and I was correct! One of the reasons also that I called was because I also had not received their digital email receipt yet. She then broke down what I paid for and informed me about the maintenance program which I knew nothing about! Unbelievable! No wonder Jose did not send it to me. I talked to another HVAC company the next day and they said that their company was not the cheapest nor the most expensive but that republic way overcharged me. Jose showed me three different prices on an ipad he kept in his hands. The prices were for additional extra services. Which I refused. The third price was what I paid. That is the one where he fraudulently put in the maintenance program and I did not realize it. It should not have included the maintenance program that should've been another price to show me but he did not do so. On their website they have all five star reviews. But you can't add one there... I wonder why?! Be wary of this company!! read more

I am extremely disappointed with this company. I really wanted to like them because the tech was very nice and professional, but he pretty much told me that there was no way to get the part for the age of my furnace. I got two other quotes and the third company found the part right away. He wanted to replace my whole system for $9k yet here I am only spending $700 for a part he didn't even try looking for. read more

My blower motor went out under warranty so I called to have it replaced. The technician did a great job removing the motor and replacing it with a new one , however the price the company charged for this job was outrageous . $650 labor for 45 minutes of work is insane . They replaced my cooling coil last year under warranty which took 2 technicians half a day and my bill for that was much less than this job that's why I called them back thinking it would have been a reasonable price. For this reason they have now lost my business for any future repairs . read more

Republic said the part wasn't under warranty, then said it wasn't covered bc we only bought a blower not a whole system. They were wrong and I do t trust these guys. Contractor used them to install new unit years ago. We constantly had problems with the unit and the installation. They're visits always cost too much money. They talked us into a service agreement and I ended up doing most of the maintenance myself. The straw that broke the camel's back is that they came out for a maintenance visit and charged me $600 for new capacitors that were replaced two years ago. Then within two weeks the unit was struggling so we had them out again and they told us that we need to replace the evaporator coil over $2500. We told them we wanted a second opinion and they charged us a $90 visit fee. I'll never use them again. read more
