Renters Warehouse is too busy! I am a landlord who has been trying to receive my security deposit back from Renter Warehouse. I have called/emailed the local number in South Jersey multiple times. I have also called the customer service number requesting to speak with a supervisor. Each time I was told that the supervisors were busy! UPDATE 2/23/17 We asked for a 6 month lease but was told it was not available and the company does not do 6 month leases. Obviously that was not true as Shane D in his reply states they are. We read about the tenant exchange program months after signing not before. We trusted the agent to be stating the truth and have text messages from him stating to break the 12 month lease it would require 30 days notice and forfeit of the security deposit. So our 12 month lease is almost up and March 1st would be our last payment. Low and behold they found a renter. The funny part is I found out when I went to the property to check on the landscaping and found the owner there (Entered the property without notice.. Again!)) and he told me there was a renter moving in on the first of March. REALLY!! I was about to make my March 1st payment!! Nobody has contacted us to let us know and I am absolutely positive that if I had made that payment I would have never seen that money again. I contacted them and everyone I have been passed to on the phone defers the blame to someone else. The owner also stated our agent was fired months back so nobody was actively perusing finding a renter. Shane D is the customer service rep for AZ and has not called me back. He does seem to have plenty of time to get onto yelp and respond to all the negative reviews here. Read his wording though, he says sorry but goes on to point the blame to the renter or homeowner. Trust the 2 star rating on YELP, it is very accurate and stay away from this company if you want to be a good steward of your hard earned money. BEWARE!!! We rented a home for 3 years that was managed by Renters Warehouse.... this is by far the WORST property management company in existence! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! In 3 years our rent was never late, we improved on the property, maintained a very good relationship with the owner, who was not happy with the company either. He had to set up maintenance issues several times because they ignored requests for maintenance issues repeatedly. The owner attended the move out inspection and agreed that the property was in perfect condition. The inspector advised me that I would hear from the dispositions team within a few days to arrange the refund of our deposits..... we are 12 days past the inspection and have not heard a peep out of them. We have called 3 times now to check the status and are very rudely and mechanically told "Arizona law gives us 14 business days to complete our review" There is nothing to review! There was no damage, the house was spotless, and the owner himself approved the release of our deposit, yet they continue to drag their feet and take their time. The level of customer service is appalling and they treat their tenants like garbage. They honestly do not even deserve 1 star, unfortunately that is not an option. I have no idea how these people are still in business. UPDATE.. I am replying to the reply below from the owner of Renters Warehouse. I understand your "process" I also understand that you're completely full of crap! The owner approved the return of my deposit 3/29/2019, when the move out inspection was completed and the keys were returned. You held MY Deposit for no reason whatsoever. I still don't have it and we're now past the deadline allotted for the return of my money. As far as maintenance issues, you keep forgetting that we spoke to the owner on a regular basis, he was just as disgusted with the lack of professionalism and disregard for tenant and owner requests your company maintains as their standard. I have used Renters Warehouse for my rental property for seven years and haven't had a lot of trouble. However, something has changed over the course of the last couple years and you can't get anyone to respond to your telephone calls and e-mails. The last incident was regarding the pool in which they advised me on the problem and I approved the service request the same day. It took them six days to dispatch the pool vendor which caused the pool to turn green and added cost to me to get it fixed. They say they are your advocate to preserving your asset. I don't think this is how it should be done. After e-mailing them about this customer service issue on July 10th - still no phone call, no e-mail, no nothing. It's a shame because they used to be so responsive. Now it just seems they don't care. read more

I was a Renters Warehouse tenant for 18 months. It was a difficult and frustrating experience and even now am working through issues because of their lack of detail and total disrespect for a renters' rights. When I moved in, requests I had made to make the house acceptable were never fulfilled due to the agent at that time. The house was dirty, unpainted and owner items were left throughout the garage and exterior. I was moving back to Arizona and had no time to waste so had to move in even though Renters Warehouse did not do what was right. The owner of the Laveen house where I rented was completely uneducated about how to handle property issues, violated my privacy and to this day is handling issues in an inappropriate way which has caused me financial hardship for no legitimate reason. During the course of my stay at the Laveen house, the owner sent people to the property without notifying me or Renters Warehouse and then would charge me for their services. It took months to resolve this charge which almost led to my eviction through Renters Warehouse because owners have access to charge renters at will through their system. Communication was lack luster at its best and again even now as I try to resolve serious issues with the security deposit, Renters Warehouse removed themselves from the conversation. I am beyond done with this company and hope my message will at least reach a few of you who will take heed and seriously consider not using Renters Warehouse. read more

Strongly advise to not enter agreement with this company. I felt they just were not up front and not responsive. A repair at my property took 47 days to complete, which is just unacceptable. Then when my lease comes almost up, they add $10 a month to their fee. Not worth it. They did find me good tenants, but maybe that was just luck. read more

Jeffrey Jahrman went the extra mile to help us after someone drove through our front yard late at night recently and struck a concrete property marker post, completely destroying it and leaving large chunks everywhere. The largest piece was still in the ground and very heavy. Jeffrey handled it well --- the bulk and weight were too much for us to move, and we didn't know what to do with so much heavy, broken concrete. Jeffrey coordinated an excellent resolution and now there is no evidence there was ever a problem. Thank you Jeffrey and Renter's Warehouse for taking wonderful care of your customers. We toured a rental house for a friend from out of state that is moving to AZ. Leslee Coulter was showing the house and we were so impressed with her. We have a rental property in Peoria so we asked her for her card and plan to use her to rent out our place when our tenant leaves. She was so responsive with our friend, professional, and kind at the tour. Such a fun personality, professional, concerned for her customers, and, very intelligent. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! Glenna the agent made promises for annual tree trimming that "wasn't written in the lease" so it wasn't honored. When a maintenance ticket is opened, takes days to get a reply. Their 24/7 is crap & lies! You have to follow up with EVERY ticket opened. Their standard reply is "waiting for the owner to reply". The AC went out in July, took days before a repair company came to asses the problem, it needed one simple part then took many more days for the "owner approval". So I was told. The most recent was opened in March, closed out with NO resolution. I was told to open another. They sent out a young kid without a ladder who used 2 different products to fill holes by woodpeckers. When I called for an update on the 2nd ticket I was told by Carmen she would follow up! No call back! I had to call back several times, they use an answering service so good luck getting ahold of the person you spoke with previously. When you leave messages they don't return calls! Carmen said "we don't have a specialty vendor" what the heck are they getting paid to do?!? They do NOT VALUE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I even called asking or a manager, spoke with Nick and he didn't fulfill his promise to call back. I was told "the lease agreement is between the renter & the owner ". Interesting, I open maintenance tickets with RW, not the owner. A week later a maintenance guy called me to come and fill the holes with an Altoids container! Who does that, yes a picture is included. I had to use my resources to contact the owner to get the problem solved correctly. If I could give negative stars I would. Reymart Apdon, RW Maintenance Coordinator facilitated installation of a new hot water heater in my rental condo in Scottsdale. Tenant did not have any hot water and Reymart got a vendor in immediately, the vendor said that water was leaking and the hot water heater was 12 years old so recommended replacing. Reymart was able to get the new hot water heater installed the next day. I was impressed with Reymart's promptness, attention to detail, concern for the tenant, and follow through to be sure everything went smoothly. I'm very happy to have Renters Warehouse managing my property and getting to work with such professional people like Reymart Apdon. read more

We put our house on the market because we had such a horrible experience with this company. They are only concerned with their profits and they do not look out for their clients. It is nearly impossible to get a hold of anyone here by phone and/or email. We are still waiting for someone to call us back so we can get our deposit.... would be nice after we had 10,000 dollars worth of damages at our rental property. I was approved & signed a rental agreement through Renter's Warehouse on 4/18 with a move in date of 5/15. I received an email from Renter's Warehouse on 5/9 advising me that the homeowner no longer wanted to rent out the property due to damage the last tenant caused & wanted to know if I would be willing to release them from the lease. I advised the leasing agent that it was very short notice & I needed to be out of my current rental as agreed & wanted to move forward with leasing the property. It is not 5/14 & I have been advised that the homeowner is not returning calls & that I need to find another place to live. I am confused to why we signed a lease if it is not enforced. I to have my deposit returned asap to find another place & was advised it will take up to 2 weeks. This is unacceptable. read more

Despite all the negative reviews, we have not had a problem with Renters Warehouse whatsoever. Having been home owners for a year in San Diego, I took a job in Phoenix that required us to move quickly. Not knowing the area well, we decided to rent for 1-2 years in order to learn more about Phoenix and take our time before we purchase another house. We came out and visited the area approx 1 month before having to be here in order to find a place; we looked at a variety of different properties all over the Phoenix area, both west and east. When we arrived at the house we eventually rented, we were late coming from a previous appointment; unfortunately, Gabe from Renters Warehouse was not here when we showed up. This obviously wasn't any fault of his, or Renters Warehouse. Gabe even took the time to meet with us hours later, and called upon his availability and made the time for us to see the house. I am really glad we came back, because we ended up entering a lease agreement. When trying to determine a time to meet for the walk through when we arrived, we let Gabe and his associate who helped us, Justin, know that we couldn't select an actual time given we were driving out from San Diego - while we could "estimate" a time, it was my first time driving a truck of that size with our entire home with us. Justin openly communicated with us and was ready and waiting for us when we arrived. I am not sure about all the other reviews; we certainly have had zero issues in the short time we have been here. While I reserve the right to adjust my review, working with Gabe and Justin from Renters Warehouse has been a pleasure; both are very courteous and professional, and made the lease/move in process very easy for us. Not to mention, the Renters Warehouse portal is extremely convenient; just set up auto pay and never worry about writing a check/missing a rent payment. We signed a 1 year lease, and as of right now, fully intend on renewing for an additional year when the time comes. I always believe there are 2 sides to every story, and more folks would take the time to complain about a rental rather than folks to take the time rave & write a positive review. We post reviews both positive and negative, but we have absolutely nothing to complain about with our current home and/or Renters Warehouse. We contacted this Joke, and this half ass Real-estate agent who could have cared less about our circumstances. Horrible practices! Let me get straight to the point if you are not a white person your chances of getting a rental with this company are slim to none! Not only was I approved for this particular rental and qualified but I was the 1st applicant. Which means I have 1st dibs on moving in correct? Well the realtor by the name of Jamey who I had to contact 1st informed me that the owner wanted a tenant to sign a 2year lease even though it was stated no where on the home listing. I said ok, well is there a price difference for this newly stated extension? He said he will find out. Well 4 days go by with no reply so I reached out & he says "oh just today the owner accepted another offer for 26 months". All of that is fine & dandy just would of been nice to have received the reply back to know that our only option was 24months so that I would be able to accept which I was never given the proper respect or communication from someone who's job is to do exactly that! read more

I get it, they need to do showings of the home. But do you not understand how uncomfortable it is to have random ass people check out your house?! Especially since I had a brand new baby.. we were constantly harassed by Glenna because she'd have last minute showings(once again, if we were given more of a heads up it wouldn't have been an issue) but she text me with the worst attitude saying "look, if you want this home rented out, you're going to have to help me as well okay?;)" because I was WORKING and couldn't reply. I am a friend of a single elderly woman who lives alone in one of the homes in my neighborhood you manage. As a former law enforcement officer and current instructor of criminal and civil law, I find the situation to be less than legal or compassionate. Your management team failed to provide a simple replacement of a water heater and repair of the heating system in a timely manner during the recent cold spell we had in Phoenix. She was left to live in her rental home here in Toscana/Tatum Ranch for 30 some days at times dropping to 41degrees inside her home. She went without water and heat which is not acceptable for anyone. As for the rude, cold-hearted salesman pitched man who "manages" her rental for the home owner's property, he is not good for business or consumers. I doubt Keven McClellan is aware of the lack of professional conduct by this employee who failed to be professional or prompt in doing what you so proudly "brag" on radio and ads across this city. His condescending quips to this woman, expectation that she manages calls and complaining between the construction crew, that you dispatched to change a water heater, and your team of expert rental managers was less than decent. I would suggest that you not threaten, belittle or be so smug to quell her request to reimburse her loses in this mess. Too many here in our community support her and others who may be finding themselves in a similar circumstance and advising that she file complaints with the state, BBB and the Attorney General's office against you for failing to provide adequate services, thus causing undue duress, physical danger and discomfort as well as failing to comply with state laws that do not allow renters to leave tenants without water or heat for a lengthy amount of time. Offering a space heater or bottled water is not considered to be an adequate consolation. Smugly telling her that no lawyer could do much to them (renter's warehouse in Phx), also shows a lack of confidence all consumers should have for this kind of service. No homeowner would want or expect to have this type of interaction with their renters. What she got was Nasco Construction, namely a man called "Jesse" verbally overstepping his authority to demand that she moves her things out of the garage, or move things here or there, be awake for unannounced construction crew arrivals only to be left to have the guy at Nasco treat her rudely and scold her as if she was the one who hired them. Sadly for the homeowner, you claim to "protect", the finish work and clean up was less than professional or a "good job". To top the inconveniences, financial burden and emotional and physical stress placed on her, she was forced to see her personal property compromised. They made her empty her garage and store it someone else. Her items were stored for her as walls needed to be accessible? It was a simple water heater job. Well, until the heat needed to be repaired. Poor thing, crying, confused with the last two months of discomfort and rude subs, agents and other, are we going to still brag that you take care of just the "homeowners" in your management success? Renter and homeowner Buyer's Beware, if the pitch sounds too good, offer too much to pass up and they promise to take care of everything, even at night, weekend or away, you might need to call other companies to compare. Do the right thing Mr. McClellan by both ends of your "operation", this elderly woman should have any and all costs such as her higher electric bill for equipment that your sub-contractor, Nasco construction used like brought dryer fans? Your offer, space heaters? Are those even safe in all rooms as a heat source in winter weather? Are they useful when the construction crew left a door or garage open while working? Simply put, compensation on her rent due to a lack of water and heat for over 30 days leaving her in a dangerous situation, should be deducted from rent immediately. Least you can do and please, no more quips or comments that have her fearing future eviction, by throwing up the fact that the homeowners have a "stop lease" clause in the contract. That is really is the ultimate fear tactic placed by landlords on most renters when things come down to money and it is extremely unprofessional verbally as is failing to return calls to your "clients" on both ends. It does appear that many on this site to find many of your agents to be less than professional. In the end, $ is your end game, isn't it? Who needs water or heat during Christmas? I would give zero stars if that's possible. These guys are bunch of cheaters. I had signed a rental contract with them and had to back out a couple of days later. They said they had no issues cancelling the contract and would completely return the entire security deposit to the renter if the renter agreed to back out of the lease. After compensation to the renter, I had asked the renter's warehouse to return the security deposit and they declined to return. I had to pay out of pocket another 2400$ to the renter for their security deposit apart from the compensation. These guys are bunch of cheaters and liars!!! Terrible customer service. I tried to get a hold of their broker through their agent but was not able to at all. I have never ever given a bad review to any individual or entity but this is my first time. Dave Meiners with Renters Warehouse is a huge tool. He took several days to respond to a request to show a property, and then when he finally did reach out, he was vague and wouldn't pin down a time. He asks such questions as, and "I will call you in the morning" and "what does your day look like?" #1 He never called that morning, afternoon, evening or even the following day. #2 When I immediately replied that I was in the area and would be into the evening, I received no response. Here's a tip: If you insert a bit of mild sarcasm into your message, he will respond with lightning fast precision with a simple, "wow." If this is any indication of how investments are managed by this company (or at least under Dave Meiners' care) are maintained, I would steer clear of such a lackadaisical organization. read more

There website is difficult to navigate when you have an issue. Their response time for maintenance issues is days to weeks or no response at all. They give empty promises to follow up or call back and never do. Even when escalating an issue to higher management you will meet resistance and excuses. Very poor customer service. The fees they charge are acceptable but the benefits they offer in exchange for the fee are ridiculously unacceptable. This reply is for Kevin down there. First, I just want to make it clear that it's the end of January and we still haven't received the portion of the refund your company promised. It is funny to me that your company responds to public complaints, but none of you care to return phone calls or emails. After the first few phone calls, your representatives decided they didn't want to deal with us anymore apparently. I have three emails to Maria in my inbox that were never replied to. I also left multiple voicemails with no call backs. I took the word of my wife (whom I trust) when she said your representative was rude over the phone. I called back on a recorded line, so I have proof of your unprofessionalism. I also read numerous other complaints on multiple websites complaining about the same issues (taking money and ignoring clients). You also didn't acknowledge that your representative, Maria, misinformed us via email and telephone, but based on your reply, it seems that you don't understand what actually happened either. Insufficient funds is NOT the same as incorrect bank information. We had to call Wells Fargo twice to confirm that there was no transaction from our bank before Maria finally agreed that our payment did not come back as 'NSF.' You also didn't acknowledge the fact that our bank information was saved in your system (and we were still charged the $27 inconvenience fee by the way). The same bank information that completed successfully for our security deposit. And finally, I'd like to explain to you how bank errors work. I work with banks and credit unions every day. Say there WAS a typo somehow and the bank information was incorrect, the payment would have never made it to the bank. There would have been no error, because the bank information was incorrect, and the bank would have never charged a fee. Please explain to me how there was a 'bank fee' for a payment that you claim never made it to the bank. Or are you saying it was NSF? Because Wells Fargo can prove the funds were there. I heard about Renters Warehouse on the radio and decided to contact them as I was contemplating whether to rent or sell my townhome. The initially conversation on the phone and in person was informative and professional with the assigned leasing agent. However, the communication lacked during the process of finding a renter. I would be informed that there would be a showing; however I rarely received an update on the showing unless I asked. Often, the showing was a "no show" or they canceled, yet majority of the time, I did not receive an email indicating so. I was told that they would contact their IT dept. I was told that the area my townhome was in was a prime location for renters and it will rent quickly. In the 2.5 months I worked with the leasing agent, I would say that I had a handful of showings. My agent then sent an email that she would no longer be my leasing agent and provided the name of a new leasing agent with Renters Warehouse. I responded to her email that I would not want a new agent as I was going to contact another property management and that I would need my keys back. I never received a response, so I contacted her mid day the next day. She was short and said she had removed my listing and will drop off the keys. My understanding was that she was leaving Renters Warehouse. I contacted AZ Prime property and my townhome had a renter within the 2nd week. Renters Warehouse absolutely wasted my time (2.5 months) and I cringe when I hear their advertisement on the radio. I would not refer anyone to this company. read more

The tenant lasted only 5 months, left without notice, damaged the house with moving truck and Renters Warehouse of course newer kept it's promise to find a new tenant. I was too busy to write updated review, but now I saw it and I am doing late correction. I have even a letter from Renters Warehouse refusing help. Of course even their background check was flimsy, as I found that the renter had a history of similar behavior. The rule is simple, if they advertise too much, they are the problem. read more

I was helping my parents with their rental house in AZ while they lived in CA. Renters Warehouse started out great when we were working with Sean. He did everything he said he was going to do, but he left the company. We only found out because we call Sean's cell and he said he left and the company was going to send us the new person's contact information. They only did after we called to find out who it was. This was 2 months after he left. We had to call in several times when we were coming up to the end of the contract to see if our tenant was renewing or leaving. We called 2 months before, then ever week until someone finally called back and said they would contact the tenant and find out. That was less then 30 days before the contract was up. Renters Warehouse ended up dropping the ball and everything with the final walk through. They allowed the tenant to move out without getting the keys or the garage door openers.
