Dr. Jonathan Wong is the guy to go to. A week ago I was dealing with unbelievable tooth pain and my general dentist told me that I need a root canal. She gave me three different referrals. I did my research and after reading so many good things about Dr. Wong I was very excited to meet him and ready to feel the painless magic he does while he is working on your root canal. They scheduled me last Monday of this month which was almost over two weeks waiting. I thought I would be fine since I had prescribed painkillers and antibiotics, however, my tooth was killing me. I could not eat, drink and I was constantly in pain. I decided to call the office if they can maybe schedule me sooner because of the pain I was dealing with. They asked me if I am able to come in that day in two hours. I did not expect that they will create a time between their already scheduled patients for me on the same day. I was not mentally ready for this procedure. While I was driving to the office I was freaking out. Once I stepped into the office and met Dr. Wong, he started talking to me like we know each other for a long time and I completely forgot about me being nervous. He is fast and very confident, he does not give you time to overthink anything and he just gets it done without any pain. He did make me laugh during the procedure. We had time to compare our tattoos as well. He is a down to earth person who is amazing at what he does!!! The staff who works for him is very nice and friendly. One of the girls showed me before and after x-ray so I could see the difference. Before I left, Dr. Wong came to me and he said "I hope you will feel better soon. Have a good weekend!!"I would never think I would tell him this words after root canal procedure. I was smiling like crazy and told him. " Thank you so much!!!This was awesome". I was calling my husband to tell him about my experience. I think I did not shut up about it for the rest of the day. After the procedure, I was still numb for several hours and my husband had a lot of chances of teasing me because of my uneven smile :) but I am free of pain and I could not be happier. Tears in my eyes writing this review. My husband had a root canal almost a year ago and was told by an Oral Surgeon that the pain he was still having was from Trigeminal Neuralgia that is a Neurologic Disorder that needs Epilepsy type drugs for the rest of his life and he should see a Neurologist. So we saw the first one and after 2 months and several medications he told us we should find someone else. Second Neurologist just kept adjusting 2 different kinds of medications and nothing helped. So after 1 Endodontist, 2 Oral Surgeons and 2 Neurologists we found Dr. Jonathan Wong. Dr. Wong told us he was bound and determined to solve this problem and HE DID !! My husband had a Bony Spicule on his jaw where the root canal was done. He performed a surgical procedure that ground out that spicule and after three weeks of recovery the pain is almost gone, Need another week of recovery and he should be 100%. The thought of him being on debilitating drugs for the rest of his life was not an option for him so I searched and found our "Miracle Worker Dr. Jonathan Wong. I was referred here from my general dentist for a root canal. I've never had one, so I was very nervous. Of course everyone tells of their horrible root canal experiences, so I expected the worst (My case was pretty cut and dry , broken tooth, no pain or infection). My insurance was ending in less than 2 weeks due to a job change, and my new insurance wouldn't kick in for 5 weeks. They were very accomodating, and somehow, managed to get me in before I had no insurance. Dr. Nunney was great ! She explained everything as we went along, and I have to say the whole process was not that bad. The worst part was when the novocaine wore off. 3 ibuprofen every 6 hours , and I still felt a throbbing pain. But, when I woke up the next morning, to my surprise, the throbbing had subsided. Still quite tender 3 days later, but that's to be expected since because of my insurance, I had to start the temp crown process the very next day with my general dentist. I met Dr. Wong, and he seemed very chill. Dr. Nunney is who did my root canal. Both really put me at ease. I would definitely recommend this place. Great experience with Dr. Jonathan Wong!! And I am the type of person who hates dentists and have had really bad experiences in the past, but with Dr. Jonathan it was awesome. I was told and shown pictures of my tooth and was explained what would be done. Also, given complete explanation of what my insurance would cover and not and what my out of pocket expense would be. They were really thorough before the procedure (root canal) started. What really shocked me was they showed be pictures afterwards of what was done--never had that before. The staff was great as well. It takes a lot of novacaine to get me numb--it wears off quickly and Dr. Jonathan made sure I would not be in any pain before the procedure started. And there was no pain during the procedure. I had very little pain afterwards--I could feel uncomfortable in the area but the pain was not so great -- I didn't even take aspirin!!! I arrived at the Elgin office at 7AM December 18 for Root Canal. From the start - to finish - I was treated with total professionalism and concern. Dr. Wong thoroughly explained the procedure, start to finish, and chcked with me frequently during the actual procedure regarding me comfort. It was an amazing experience!! The actual procedure took about 20 minutes (give or take). I was out of he offie a few minutes after 8AM. It is now 11;15AM and the shots have worn off. I have absolutely no pain or discomfort. I was referred to Renovo by my dentist when they discovered I had an infection in a tooth that had a root canal done over 5 years ago. I really didn't know what to expect, but Dr. Wang explained everything to me in great detail. Gave me my options and helped me make the right decision for me. I had oral surgery to clean out the infection, and since I had significant bone loss they also had to put in some bone grafts as well. Overall the experience was not as bad as I thought it might be. Everyone on the staff is very friendly, caring and puts you at ease. Not an easy thing to do! The facility is very nice; clean, modern with flat screen TV's! Amazing! I went in for a root canal consultation and Dr. Wang and the staff were incredibly kind and I was impressed with the office and equipment. On the day of my actual appointment, everything went smoothly. I was so pleased (considering I was having a root canal) from the ease of online registration, greeting me by name as I entered the office (both times I visited), and of course, Dr. Wang and her assistant Dr. Wang was so caring and comforting the entire time I was there. I had a root canal (my first) performed here last week, and everyone involved was terrific. Ashley was my first contact, and was delightful; as kind and professional as you could hope for, she guided me through the whole procedure beforehand so I knew exactly what to expect. Dr. Trinh was also simply top-notch. He was so kind and confident that he put me completely at ease ahead of the procedure. The procedure itself went super-smoothly, except for a moment of claustrophobia I experienced toward the end (nothing to do with anyone but me), and Dr. Trinh was very nice about letting me take a moment to stand up, have a sip of water, and collect myself before finishing up. Entire staff was great. Called in with severe pain and a recommendation from my dentist for a root canal. They did not have any openings for the same day so we made an appointment for the next morning. The person on the phone was so understanding of my pain and said she would try to get a doctor to see me today. She called back about 30 minutes later and Dr. Gaw was able to get me in if I could drive to the Elgin office. I did have to wait in between patients, which was totally understandable, but she did the root canal and I was able to enjoy a wedding the next night almost pain free! Thank you! I'm not a big dentist person... infact they scare the mess out of me(previous horrible ecperience), but Dr. Wrong at Renovo made me feel completely comfortable and at ease with all the work I needed done. He made sure I didn't feel a thing and for me that is a huge deal! I needed an emergency root canal on Friday afternoon. They scheduled me for 4 pm and called with a cancellation for 2:00. When I got to the office, my wait was less than 5 minutes until I was seated in treatment chair. Within 5 more minutes, Dr Wong came in and assessed the issue, explained the options and after my decision, immediately began treatment. His level of concern for comfort and understanding were excellent. Full procedure was done in less than 90 minutes and the pain was gone. Dr. Wong is AWESOME! He is very skilled and experienced with all the current dental technology. I'm a huge scardy cat about all things dental, I only went because I absolutely could no longer hide. I had to have a bridge replaced and totally redone. Yikes! Bad dental experiences in the past have freaked me out and scared me. I was referred to Renovo by my dentist due to a specialty problem he was not able to perform. I called and was able to get in the next day thankfully because my tooth was aching badly. From the desk personnel, the dental assistant and Dr. Wang, all were simply wonderful. Dr. Wang was able to assess the problem, treat it and I was given a follow-up treatment date. Dr. Wong not only works magic with his hands but he is a compassionate dentist who truly cares about the patient's concerns and pain. I had an awful root canal experience at a different dentist, and a crown which was left with an open contact, which caused pain on a daily basis. She talks you through every step as she's caring for you.
