Let me begin by saying that I would have given this office zero stars had that been an option. I am currently in a dental emergency. I have an impacted wisdom tooth that is causing me great amounts of pain and facial swelling. My family dentist referred me to this office because I am in need of an oral surgeon. I have already contacted my family dentist and highly recommended they discontinue referring patients to this office, unless of course they want their patients to be treated with complete disrespect, attitude, and overall rudeness. The experience began on Monday morning when I called to make the appointment. I told the receptionist on the phone that my family dentist referred me because I have an impacted wisdom tooth. The receptionist responded, dripping with attitude: "Well, we have to first see you ourselves and do x rays so are you calling to book an initial consultation?" I said, "well, yes I need an appointment." She responded by saying, "ok then the cost will be $195 for the consultation and x rays." Every time she spoke to me it was as if I was an idiot and I was being scolded. I should have known this was only a window into the future of the experience that was to follow. The appointment was made for Thursday afternoon. In the mean time, the swelling and the pain only worsened. I broke down and went to my family dentist to get the x rays out of the way and to get on antibiotics and pain meds. When I went in for my Thursday appointment, there was one woman ahead of me. Her appointment was at 1:15 and mine was 1:30. I overheard the woman talking about a wisdom tooth issue also. She was called in and within three minutes, she was storming out. Then I overheard the receptionists trash talking the woman behind the desk. They were laughing and making fun of a patient. I almost wanted to walk out right then but I have an emergency and didn't want to wait any longer. Then I heard the receptionist laugh and say, "oh geeze, she forgot to fill out the back part." I then realized she was talking about me and I was only a few feet from her. She called me over and told me I forgot to flip the patient info sheet over and fill that out. I arrived at my appointment 15 minutes early at 1:15 and was not seen until 2:00. People walked in after me and were called before me. Finally they called me in and led me to a room where I was told I had to watch an informational video on the removal of wisdom teeth. It took about 5 minutes and then the dentist Came in. He was in the room for no more than three minutes, never really examined me, only told me the cost difference between having one wisdom tooth removed or all four. Horrified at the ungodly amount to remove all four, seeing as I do not carry dental insurance, I said it would just have to be the problem tooth then. He immediately agreed to book another appointment for that and wisked me out to the reception desk to set it up. He told me the cost to remove one wisdom tooth would be $385 and the cost to remove all four would be almost $2500. The receptionist then asked me if I wanted to book the appointment. Now, my face was swollen and I was having trouble speaking so I said, "yes, as soon as possible please." She told me the soonest I could have it done would be next Thursday, an entire week from then. I agreed since I was desperate. She then printed out a sheet with the time and the cost. When she went over the cost, I stopped her and asked if there was any way we could break it up into payments. She responded with attitude by saying, "well, you should have discussed that with him!" Then she tried to hand me a pamphlet on a financing service. I said forget it. I have never heard of an office that doesn't work with you and treats you like a penniless pauper when you even mention payments. Then she got pushy and started asking me how much money I could possibly come up with the day of the surgury. I got upset at this point and said, "well I guess I will have to pay all of it now won't I?" She snapped back at me with, "I was going to talk to the doctor on your behalf so how much can you pay?" I was fed up at this point and said forget it, I would pay it somehow. She then told me I owed $85 for Ithe visit which lasted maybe 15 minutes, nothing was done accept that I was treated with rudeness, attitude, and disrespect. Do not use this office unless you want to be treated as such. read more
