Ali (owner of Renovate Max) stand behind his work! I bought a newly built house from a seller who hired Renovate Max as her builder. Everything was beautifully made and well constructed. Inspection report during purchase reflected that. After move-in I found a few issues (well, and nitpicks). The seller pointed me to Ali when I raise these problems (one door had minor alignment problem, a sink had minor leak, the hole behind the doorbell was larger than I wanted, etc.). Ali patiently listen to my concerns, coordinated his team to fix all the issues for me. I am really grateful for his help especially I didn't pay him anything. I would caution anyone considering Renovate Max and Ali (contractor/owner). There are several issues you will run into if you choose this contractor, but knowing them up front may help you decide or perhaps make changes to the standard contract to protect yourself. They include: 1. Estimating of how long a job will take. (10 weeks) vs reality (22 weeks). Ali under supported the project by peeling off workers to other jobs (even ones booked after my own). His own staff is quite small and over extended. 2.Costly under estimation of electrical (including basic code requirements around number of outlets needed in a kitchen) est: $4k, actual $14k. This one made me suspect intent - did the contractor do this to keep the original estimate low? I later noticed a line in his contract about how electrical estimates might change. When I did my pre-homework and checked references, this is something that came up with each previous customer, and I should have paid more attention. Get the electrician to visit and do the estimate up front, not Ali (owner/contractor). By the way, keep a close eye on the work of the electrical team. Poor communication between Ali and that team caused several headaches throughout the project. 3. Ali has a strong tendency to first blame the homeowner for problems during construction (including communication issues within his own team and the subcontractors he hires). He can be quite emotional rather than businesslike and send offensive emails and text. This volatility makes for a stressful environment for the homeowner and awkwardness for the embarrassed workers. On the plus side, I would like to complement Ali for his choice of some excellent workers, especially Martin, his 'Jack of all trades'. The floor subcontractor was fast and excellent. This was our largest change order, to refloor half the house, and it only took 3 days! The window subcontractor was fast and good. RMI was the perfect choice for my and my fiancé's recent reno. We purchased our first home last year; a 65-year-old fixer-upper and were quickly overwhelmed by the tasks at hand; a (almost) head to toe remodel was required. After a little hunting, we were connected with the RMI team by a relative. Admittedly, we're a picky couple and had a rather extensive list of desires; maintaining the integrity of the home's beautiful mid century architecture / woodwork being key amongst our concerns. The company understood, agreed with, and added to our vision. So, without much hesitation, we hired RMI for the job. The property contains 4 bedrooms, a large living room, a den, and 2.5 baths (two stories). In the end, we had all of the room's floors, ceilings, windows, the entire kitchen, a backyard deck, and fixtures redone. We could NOT have been happier with the finished job. Further, RMI was really helpful about putting us in contact with a stellar decorator (we wanted the living area and master bedroom professionally done). We recently finished a home renovation project with Renovate Max - that included Kitchen and bathroom remodel, new floor, paint, structural wall move etc. In summary, I could not have been happier. Ali is truly outstanding. He is a good listener and first he tries to understand what are we trying to achieve from the project. Then he comes up with truly amazing ideas and gets going with execution. His team is super motivated and works with perfection. Project as large as ours was not super easy. Recently got my bedroom remodeled and I couldn't be happier. My room went from looking like one at a raggedy motel to a newly renovated masterpiece. A much better distribution of space that I didn't know my room could even achieve. Freshly new paint and new electrical work done because I had loose wires hanging that were a hazard that now are safely secured and hidden behind new sockets near my bedside and desk. Hands down one of the best companies I've called to do remodeling in my bedroom. I had it done very poorly by another company, will not mention the name, and its unbelievable how Renovate Max cleared my concerns and issues with what happened. The repainting was spot on, many holes on the walls from frames and other mistreatment were fixed and unnoticeable. Pointing out the paintwork, the company I hired before did a very poor job. I'm not sure what they did but within a month the paint starting chipping and peeling on certain spots, it was very frustrating. Im very happy with the results now thanks to Renovate Max. read more

Choosing and hiring a contractor wasn't as easy as I expected it to be, you have to go over all the designs you'd like and overlook the whole project as it's being completed. I received a lot of quotes and while some were reasonable ones there were also some outrageous ones! Ali, the owner of Renovate Max quoted me a reasonable price that was in my price range. This is one of the reasons I went with Ali but also because he is very informative and kept me up to date on everything. I had A LOTof questions and he was kind enough to answer all of them very thoroughly. When I was looking for a contractor,I had many of them came to the house to bid for the project, Ali from Renovate Max came with many sample of tiles and doors. He was extremely patient and detailed. He gave us a pretty good quote. He helped us made some changes to the design, which turn out great, all thanks to him. Ali is very knowledgeable about really good products available on the market, you can see that he has a design background, he was a designer first. He has good relationships with his subs and his suppliers, and even though our job ended many months ago, I was able to contact him and he hooked me up with one of his vendors. I really liked Ali's carpenter Jeff. The guy was a craftsman, and really took his time to do everything right. Not only that, he was a gentleman as well, very easy to have around the kids, I felt very safe in our ongoing project. I also really liked his flooring subcontractor, the guy had a lot of experience and was very responsive to calls and texts, and even he is getting back to me with new questions I have months later. As long as you don't make the sexist assumption that just because he's a man, Ali is going to be on your job with a hammer, you should be happy. He's the general, he has a good network of employees and subs. After selling our previous home, me & my parents had a chance to work with Renovate Max as designer and general contractor. Our traditional two-story colonial home with large grounds has been transformed into a contemporary luxury estate.  On the first floor, the family room, office and living room cabinetry and fireplace surrounds were replaced. The kitchen and dining areas were enlarged, opened and new cabinetry and appliances installed creating inviting living and entertainment spaces. Interior flooring, doors, hardware, windows, baseboards and ceiling molding were replaced throughout and bathrooms reconfigured and luxuriously finished.  The back yard was re-designed from a traditional deck-hot tub to a cutting edge California outdoor space complete with a canopy cover for the built in grill/kitchen and TV lounge with surround system. Exterior painting, lighting, garage doors and landscaping completed the transformation.  We have and will continue to recommend Renovate Max for all phases of home remodeling or building from architectural and landscape design to general and finish construction. read more

The project turned out better then we expected. Daniel the tile guy did a great job on the floors and the back splash. Daniel and his team came on time, even worked on the weekends to get the job done. Great crew, easy to get along with Adam, the plumber, did a great job on the plumping. He was punctual and did everything on time. Very friendly, and easy to talk to. Sergio, the counter guy, did an excellent job as well. He is very punctual and knowledegable. Sergio was even educating me on how to take care of the countertops. Ed, the electrician, did a great job. He installed a new sub panel, and redid the kitchen lights and electrical. He came in and did what was promised. Nice guy too! The carpenter's quality of work was ok. I'm content with his work. Although, the handles were all a little crooked due to using a bad template, but that's fixable. Overall, this project was successful. read more

It's not easy finding quality and people you can trust but I'm beyond pleased with Renovate Max. Their customer service is excellent, the work speaks for itself, and the renovations were in my budget. I live in an older home that's a fixer upper. I initially called only to have my bathroom remodeled, but given how great of a job they did, I've asked them to help with the kitchen and master bedroom as well and they're really turning out beautifully. Ali redid the entire kitchen - granite counter top, floor and cabinets - before a few weeks. While counter top and flooring was OK, his handy man (Tony) screwed up our cabinets and drawers. Many cabinets were having an issue with soft closing. One of his guys, who came by late to have a look at this problem, said that the cabinets / drawers are mounted using low quality hinges Custom cabinet, alignment was off, the shelf was not cut properly. A drawer literally came off, apparently the handy man didn't screw it properly (Yes, that's right). Ali did send someone to fix this issue after repeated calls / complaints And yesterday, another cabinet is almost falling apart because of bad latches / screwing - hope he will stop by and address this issue. We are worried one by one all cabinets and drawers are going to come off! Ali will talk sweet and tell you that he takes care of this customers during the initial negotiations. Once you give him his final check, he will disappear and hardly respond to your calls / texts. He seems to be using handy men or low end sub-contractors to increase his own margin and sacrifice the quality. This is not what you expect when you spend about $15K to remodel your kitchen. read more

Ricardo came on time, even worked on the weekends to get the job done. Great and easy to get along with. He did an excellent job as well and very friendly and easy to talk. This review is long long overdue but Ali and his crew were great. Ali was my absolute last hope after contacting 5 more contractors before him. It was a nightmare and reminded me of the scene from Mrs. Doubtfire when they are searching for a new nanny. Everyone else either lagged on calling me back or had a serial killer vibe. Ali got back to me immediately (the same day I believe) and we started the process of our new kitchen immediately.
