Excellent experience with Apollo from A1 remodel. We renovated our two bathrooms with him and very satisfied with the work. I talked with around 5 contractors before finalizing A1. He also has one of the most reasonable quotes , is very straightforward with details, open to suggestions and modification during the job, does not try to cut corners and more importantly does not try to overcharge you for anything new that comes up during the work. This review is long overdue, but worth the wait. :) Apollo and his team did a (near) complete gut/remodel of our home in November and December of 2017. We called a dozen contractors, heard back from and met half and immediately felt a connection with Apollo and knew he was going to be the one to transform our home. Apollo and team did a complete kitchen and guest bathroom remodel, installed recessed lighting and new fans/fixtures throughout the whole house, new floors in all the bedrooms and living room, and gave us some fresh paint. His electricians worked tirelessly to right the wonky wrongs we had, his painters were clean and precise, and the tile work is some of the best I've ever seen. We received great discounts at his preferred vendors, specifically cabinets, and would rate his team a 10/10 for skill, professionalism, and promptness. Apollo got us into our home exactly when he said he would, 3 days before Christmas. He truly made our dreams come true and we would highly recommended him. Our advice to anyone doing work on your home is to track everything on your end - budget, deliverable dates, etc. Contractors are extremely busy and pulled in 16 different directions, so keeping buttoned up on your end will help all involved. After reading through multiple reviews on Yelp and BuildZoom, we shortlisted 5 and ended up choosing Apollo after interviewing and getting quotes from all of them. During the very first onsite interaction, a few others simply gave a random number and later changed it quite a bit for a slightly more detailed quote. But Apollo took his time during the first appointment, made some calculations and gave a number. And then followed it up with a detailed line-by-line estimate - interestingly that was the same quote we used to settle the final dues. He is as good with numbers as he is with construction details. Our project involved a 1950's house - we completely gutted the place and also added some square footage. The wiring and plumbing was all redone, a brand new kitchen, fully redone bathrooms just to name a few. On day 1 he quoted 90days (from permit approval), he ended up taking a little over 110days. The +20days was due to an unanticipated delay in windows delivery. Apollo had multiple other projects underway and this delay was causing a logistical nightmare for him and initially asked to push the completion by 3 extra months. But after a good discussion, he came up with creative ways to make progress and lineup inspections. Considering he finished it with 20 extra days than original quote is some achievement! (An average contractor will slip by at least 3-6 months by default). Some traits that stood out for us through the project - + Apollo was very responsive and communicative, he will pick up your call at 7:00am or even 10:00pm and will show the same energy and positive attitude + He will keep you up to date on weekly basis, when appropriate on a daily basis and during the crunch time even hourly basis + Apollo has a very experienced team (some said they have been with him for over 10yrs) and they were all very skilled and meticulous + Although he didn't commit to it or charge us extra, he worked 7 days a week sometimes even late into the night to get stuff done Overall, you will not go wrong with Apollo. He is not cheap but he is not super expensive either he will be very competitive in his bid and most importantly transparent to the final penny! The key is to be equally engaged with the contractor to make sure you get things the way you want and communicate accordingly, and Apollo will make it happen! read more

Called A-1 Home Repairs to see if they could cut some granite for us. Apollo came out and gave us an estimate... mentioned that he did not have the proper equipment to buff the granite after cutting it. I had something I could let him use to do that. He said he would call us back the following Monday to schedule the job. He never called us. This worked out well for us. A competing handyman we found on Yelp! referred us someone who was good with granite -- they had all the proper tools to cut, buff, and polish the granite. They did a great job -- and for 40% less than A-1 Home Repairs quoted us! I will never bother to call these guys again. read more

I recently had almost all of my home flooring replaced with laminate. Apollo was my contact and he was excellent. His estimate was accurate in both cost and time. The price was reasonable and communication was top of the line. The workers were really impressive. They arrived every day at the time they promised (usually 7 am) and worked throughout the day with a minimum of fuss. I had several animals so needed to stay home while they worked. They were extremely careful about where they left equipment at the end of the day and cleaned up as much mess as they could so the house was livable during the two weeks. I recently needed minor tile repairs done in my bathroom. Apollo came to my house the same day I called and he had someone available to do the repair the very next day. The quality of work was good and the cost very reasonable. I did have to call to have him come back and fix some of the grouting after the repair was done and he came back out immediately. I was very impressed and will definitely be hiring A-1 again for future home repairs. Update 10/15/11...the grout recently crumbled again. So I had a different tile company come out to repair it this time. A-1 was great to deal with but I don't think I will use them again due to the repairs not holding up. read more

My husband and I recently had a complete kitchen remodel, popcorn ceilings removed, air-conditioning installed, interior paint job of entire house, plus a couple other small repairs by A-1 Home Repair. They did a fabulous job; I thoroughly LOVE my new kitchen! It is gorgeous! I especially love the tile work they did on the entire entryway, kitchen, dining area & backsplash. The ceilings are now clean looking and nicely textured and the air conditioning works great! My husband handled most of the correspondence with Apollo and Ali, but I did have contact with them from time to time. They are both super friendly and great to work with. My husband and I were really impressed with Apollo's presentation from the start. We had several other contractors we were considering, but Apollo left the best impression and beat all of the other bids. I also really appreciated the suggestions that Ali had given us regarding the kitchen such as adding a recessed light over the sink, and doing a range hood instead of one of those over the range microwaves as I had planned to do. I think these little changes made the kitchen much more beautiful that I would have expected. Also, part of our renovation was to remove a closet and we missed that with the removal we would lose a light in the hallway entrance, so they went ahead and had an additional recessed light installed for us at no additional cost. They also did an extra finishing touch on the edges of the backsplash on the sides and around the window - it's a beautiful detail. They are honest and trustworthy - It almost feels like you are having family or friends work on your house. They have superior customer service and don't charge you an arm and a leg for it. They did so many favors for us and anything that we had the slightest problem with they were right over to look at it. We had a leak under our kitchen sink which we discovered after we accidentally broke our faucet. A-1 was top on Yelp and did not disappoint! Apollo took care of everything for a reasonable price and our emergency was over in quick time. He was super friendly and respectful. Had a great conversation on contractors and I told him how difficult it was finding a reliable professional and told him I really appreciated him showing up on time for the estimate. He told me how he prides himself on doing what he says and how he can't understand how some contractors expect to earn business by being unreliable. He told me that's why he's so busy. He promised me a full estimate in 3-5 business days. Well its been 3 weeks and after leaving 2 messages, he's proven to be as unreliable as the guys he felt he was better than. My husband and I are not handy! Not at all!! So when we needed somebody to screw in our curtain rods, we were pressed for time because we refused to live in a new house with no window screens. It was right around the holidays and pretty much everybody was closed or wouldn't want to commit to such a small job. Finally, we found A-1!! So, I have to say...I'm in love! Every time I walk into my house, I can't believe this is our house. Apollo and his guys not only did our kitchen but our roof as well. The roof got put on in record time and looks fantastic. So our kitchen was the original kitchen from 1970, complete with thick brown grout and cabinets that had seen their fair share of repainting. We waited 15 years to do this and we were going to do this one time and at one point, even considered doing it ourselves. After seeing how much work Apollo's crew did, I can't believe we had thought we were going to do this on our own. We had other bids that were up to three times as much for our kitchen and they were going to use mdf doors...ew! Apollo recommended KZ cabinets and we couldn't be more thrilled with the quality. But, I digress...I'm reviewing A-1.. A self-admitted Houzz and Pinterest junkie, I had every newfangled request you could come up with. From air switches for the garbage disposal to hidden outlets because I didn't want the outlets to show. This is the last time we're doing this and I didn't want to skimp on what I wanted, but hey, I love and fair deal and a fair deal is what we got! The guys that we works with were profession and stellar at what they did. And did I mention he did it in super fast record time? Apollo is a lifesaver and helped us get the loan on our house! Back story - the appraiser made our loan contingent on replacing all the toilets in our house and replacing the flooring in two of our bathrooms because of water damage. We found this out a week before Thanksgiving and our Close of Escrow date was to be on Dec. 8th. We were in a major bind. I found Apollo on yelp, and he worked to replace our flooring in our bathrooms and toilets at a really reasonable price. He even worked on Thanksgiving so we could close escrow on time. Because of this, we hired him to do more work after we took possession of the house. We had him install new laminate flooring, fix a leak in our bathroom tub, paint the entire house, repair trim due to termite damage, repair the fire door etc. etc. He approached every task, whether it be electrical, plumbing, painting, flooring, with expertise. He even saved us a lot of money by repairing items like the fire door instead of buying a new one which costs hundreds of dollars. I recommend Apollo wholeheartedly. I just want things the way I want them and a lot of times I don't know how I want something done until I see it done in a way I don't want. Working with Apollo was a collaboration, which is exactly what I let him know I was looking for. His price was reasonable and he had the same high standards that I do. Problem: - Under-counter sink in guest bathroom fell down - Counter is granite and drilling a hole to hold the sink in place can crack the granite Solution: - I had applied silicon gel to and repositioned the sink in place holding it up with a piece of plywood I had no idea what the above trick did the job and it is good to go, this was supposed to be a temporary solution. A-1 home repairs upgraded the kitchen in a property we bought recently. Their quality of work was perfect and they delivered ahead of time(which was super useful) and not mention that their quote was the best we received wrt. both time and money. Riz was always available to answer our questions and also helped us get good deals on hardware and fixtures. Although we slightly changed our planned work after we signed the contract, Riz was accommodating. The finished product looks super great and has already got us nice compliments. IF I have to say one con, it will be sometimes when you give instructions/requirements over phone you get a feeling that it was not communicated/understood clearly. So you might have to insist/check if they understood what you meant. It is better to explain in person and have the requirements clearly written down to avoid 'you-didnt-say-that' situation. It happened to us partly due to our fault - that we changed our plan slightly after contract. In all the experience was smooth as it gets certainly not the scary contractor experiences that I have heard from colleagues and friends. read more

I recently hired A-1 to do a kitchen remodel. I had a cabinet and floor demolish done, new cabinets installed, new tile floor installed, new granite countertop installed, and new appliances and sink installed. - From the start, Apollo and Ali did not take proper measurements of my kitchen to start a new cabinet design. I met with Apollo at the cabinet store to work with the consultant to design the new cabinets. Based on the "notes" they took, they couldn't even get the right arrangement of new cabinets. I had to draft new measurements of my old kitchen myself, and went to the cabinet store *on my own time again* to redesign the kitchen. The end design was completely different than the incomplete design based on the ad-hoc notes Ali and Apollo took. STRIKE 1. - Kitchen demolition went no problem, and because of the A-1's contractor account with the cabinet store, I was able to get my merchandise for 50% off. PLUS 1. - Cabinet installation was very poor. The workers were careless and CHIPPED AND SCRATCHED the new cabinets in many places. Apollo assured me that "it's not a problem, we will touch up those areas in the end", but in the end the DAMAGE IS STILL VISIBLE even after applying miniwax stain. STRIKE 2. - Crown molding installation on the cabinets was a disaster. It took 3 attempts for them to do it. The first two times the cuts didn't fit, and they tried to take a short cut by patching it up with wood putty whose color didn't even match. Nail holes visible throughout because they used incorrect size nails. It looked AWFUL. In the end, a different set of workers did it right. STRIKE 3. - THE WORKERS INSTALLED 3 WALL CABINETS UPSIDE DOWN. Once a cabinet is installed, the mounting screws leave holes inside a cabinet, which is permanent damage. I had to personally order 3 new replacement cabinets from the store, and pick them up myself (although at A-1's expense). Apollo and Ali did not even apologize for the messed-up install. A-1 had a different set of workers install them correctly at the end, but only because I made a deal with those workers directly without getting Apollo or Ali take care of it themselves. Furthermore, several of the cabinet doors are still crooked and not aligned, so I will have to fix that myself. STRIKE 4. - I bought kitchen floor tile and grout, and A-1 installed it DIFFERENTLY THAN THE PATTERN I DESIGNED AND GAVE THEM. The tile still looks decent, so i'll consider this a wash-out. - Granite countertop was cut and installed nicely. No complaints here. PLUS 2. - Appliances, sink, and faucet items were installed correctly. This doesn't take skill, so I won't bother giving a plus here. - ATTITUDE towards client. VERY POOR. In the end, Apollo and Ali had to leave for some personal engagement. Multiple times they assured me they would finish on schedule, but they did not finish my project on time, and even simply LEFT WITHOUT FINISHING THE JOB. The final evening they worked on my project, they rushed their work and left in a big hurry. In my opinion, this is a NO-NO in business. You stay until the job is done right. I had plastic sheeting, debris, construction dust, and saw dust in my garage and throughout my house that they never cleaned up. I have not heard from them since, they apparently decided that my project is NOT worth following up on to completion. STRIKE 5. As other reviewers mentioned, they keep the price relatively low. BUT THERE IS A REASON. This is actually Ali's part-time business, as he works full-time for another company. Apollo showed up for about 15 to 30 minutes each day, and did absolutely no real-time supervision of the workers. This is the reason things went wrong. My opinion is they keep the cost low by hiring lower-cost workers, but the customer ultimately pays the price with poor quality. I experienced a lot of stress and frustration with A-1. If I were to do it again, I would definitely hire real professionals and pay more for a good job. If you want to keep the cost low, then you can roll the dice with these guys, but it's really not worth the gamble. read more

We recently had Apollo and his team remodel our 2 very old bathrooms. They did an amazing job! Apollo is extremely responsive - he responds to phone calls and text within an hour, and his team members are all courteous and super nice. (we all know how hard it is to get a hold of your contractors sometimes and how annoying that can be!). We had our master bathroom tiled from ceiling to floor everywhere and his tile guys did a superb job on that. (pictures coming!) Everything else is installed nicely, and they came back a few times as we used the bathrooms to fix every little details that we want fixed. Their logo is "we do it for cheaper" but i think it should be "we do it for cheaper and better"! We will definitely be using A1 in our future remodels! read more

We had shower and bathroom faucet problems and needed the fixtures replaced. The shower handles required the removal of sheetrock on the opposite side of the shower wall. Apollo and his team arrived and in a matter of a few hours completely replaced the shower faucet manifold plus both sets of sink faucets in the bathroom counter's double sink. Plus, they set in place a new sheet of sheetrock and textured the wall so it blended in perfectly. Amazing! No mess was left - just a happy customer! Apollo's team was a joy to work with. I'm really disappointed. I know that it is the busy season right now, but not returning a phone call to a potential customer is bad business. At least let people know that you are busy!! Personally, I'd rather know that a company is completely booked (which makes me think they might be worth the wait) than be forced to assume that they just don't care about customers. I can't say how good their work is, because I can't even get them on the phone. I have left multiple messages over the course of a week, asking if they can even do the specific type of work I am looking for, and I have yet to receive a call back from them with a yes or no answer. read more

Riz from A-1 came out Monday at 3:15pm (the appointment was 3:30pm), for a free estimate. His estimate was a little higher than the other estimate. But, the work was done the following day with Apollo and his other workers. It was done within the hours Riz had mention from his estimate. Apollo had fixed other leaks and other minor problems in 3 bathrooms without any other additional cost. Overall, we are pleased with the plumbing job Apollo had done with 3 of our bathroom problem. I recently had my kitchen and bathroom remodel done by (A-1). They were very organized, clean, knowledgeable and efficient. I appreciate the courtesy of the contractor (Apallo) and workers. I'm planning to sell our home in couple of months and I needed a new granite counter top for our kitchen so I got estimates from 3 places: Costco (which outsourced to an East Bay company), Home Depot, and because of great Yelp reviews, I also called A-1 Home Repairs. Costco's quote was over $1000 compared to Home Depot and A-1's. Both Costco and Home Depot would take at least a week to complete, but A-1 promised to be done in 3 days. That sold me right there because having no kitchen sink for over a week is a pain in the @**. Riz and the crew were great. They demolished & installed in a very timely manner without overlooking the quality of work. They made sure I was satisfied with the end result before leaving. I want to tell you about the wonderful service that Apollo of A-1 Home Repairs did for my family. Long story short, we discovered water on the floor/carpet of my daughter's room. We contacted the HOA and were told that our toilet had leaked and that caused the issue. We were in the process of taking bids for water damage and repair, when I found A-1 on yelp. We got our kitchen completely remodeled thru A1. When we started our search, we were referred to A1 thru a friend of ours, who did business with them earlier. We had to gut our old galley style kitchen, bump out walls to add sq footage, replace cabinetry, countertops and appliances, the whole nine yards Right from the start, A1 was thoughtful in their approach and quoting process. Their quote was not the cheapest but the depth in their thinking gave me the confidence that they would do a good job. Once we started the work, I dint goto the site for the 1st 4-5 days. When I went to the site, was impressed by the pace of the work. We were actually several days ahead of schedule. Also given that our home was 32 yrs old, when they opened the walls to bump our kitchen out, they discovered some issues with load bearing walls. They dint come back and ask for a change request but went ahead and added new beams without any additional cost. Right from selecting the cabinets to the marble tile for the kitchen floor to picking the granite, they were with us all the way. Overall the end product turned out great and met our cost and design expectations. Great people, good hands on contractors and very cost effective. Would recommend them freely. read more

we recently bought a house in san jose and needed to get few things done. Mainly we wanted to install recessed lights in all the rooms. we contacted apollo to get quotes. Ali and apollo inspected the entire house and gave their recommendation regarding how to and what to get fixed in what order. They also showed me few things that I can fix by myself. For recessed lights i got quotes from at least 3 other contractors but apollos quotes was the best in all of them. And to top it off they even took up the challenge to complete the installation in less than 4 days (We had only 5 days from the day of possession and our house warming party). They completed the work on time and without interfering with our move process. They even cleaned up after them and left the house in much better shape then it was when we bought it. They installed recessed lights in 7 rooms and total 34 lights, half of them were on first floor with no attic space to run wires. their job was very clean with minimum damage to walls/ceilings and they also patched up all the cuts that they made. Considering amount of work required in the tight schedule and the end quality of work, they deserve no less than 5 stars. I am also working with them to remodel the kitchen (which is again going to be a time critical project as we have limited open time between our summer guest schedules). I would highly recommend them for following reasons - reliable and honest (i trust them enough to let them keep the keys to my house till date) - best prices in all the jobs that they have done in my house (I got quotes from at least 3 contractors and couple of handyman too) - friendly and flexible (they worked at odd hours to allow us complete our move in process, and also handled many deliveries in our absence) read more

We had to get our kitchen remodeled. I called Apollo after going through A1 home repair reviews on yelp. We met up with Apollo the same day, he is super professional and genuine. He gave us an estimate which was half the price of the estimate we had got from this other guy. Apollo took personal interest and gave good suggestions as well. My mom was leaving country in 7 days and I wanted her to see the kitchen at its best before she leaves. Apollo promised to have the work done in 6 days and I m proud to say that he did finish the work in 6 days. From tearing out the old cabinets and island to placing new flooring, cabinets and island everything was done meticulously and with utmost care. He covered everything around the kitchen area and made sure nothing gets spoiled. He is very hard working and committed to his work. On the 6th day kitchen was all in it's place cleaned up with all the appliances on its place. The end result was simply awesome. Kitchen looked better then what I had imagined or expected. I know that soon after I received my quote in July, Apollo had to fly out for a family emergency as there was a death in the family. I had my 2 bathrooms remodeled by Apollo and his gang. Everything was demolished and we had new tile work done and new fixtures/cabinets/toilets put in. They did a wonderful job installing everything and there was a lot of thought to the tile work as our walls were not flat by any means nor was it level. They also put in extra effort to figure out how to get all of my wall cabinets on as they were heavy and the studs behind the wall did not match up properly. Of course with a job like this, there were things that were missed, however, what mattered was that Apollo and his team were very responsive in fixing them. We like to live on the edge, so a week before Thanksgiving 2010, we replaced our glass cooktop with a high end gas one. This involved running a gas line, and modifying the cutout to accommodate the slightly smaller, but still problematic, new cook top. Apollo came out after hours to accommodate my work schedule and provided the estimate. He started 2 days later, and said he thought it would take 2-3 days. Said he was very busy (so am I) and would get back to me with a quote for painting, flooring (glue hardwood), tiles, faucet installs, window trim on outside, etc. said it would take a few days. If this review was just about the work they did, they would get 5 stars. However, this is about the entire customer experience. We emailed A-1 on a Monday night and they called us on Tuesday morning. Riz came by on Tuesday evening and did measurements for our kitchen. All we were having done was getting granite countertops in our kitchen and getting the sink replaced. After Riz gave us our quote we decided to go forward with them and he and Apollo (the owner) came by to sign the contract and check out what needed to be done. Riz did the calculations wrong near our sink and forgot to add a 4" backsplash to that spot because it's deeper in that area. But whatever, it didn't change our quote. Apollo definitely knew what he was talking about and made us feel comfortable about the work so we decided to go forward. I was told they would be there the next morning at 11:30. However, they showed up at 11:50.. and I am a real stickler for people being on time and that was frustrating to me. The 2nd day they were supposed to be there at 10:30 and they came at 11 and the 3rd day they were supposed to be there at 10:30 and came at 11:15. The day that Riz and Apollo came to sign the contract, Riz told us several times that he wanted us to meet Apollo at a store at Oakland and Brokaw. We looked up that location and it doesn't exist so we chose the closest one to that and went there. I told Riz before I left to call Apollo and let him know my husband and I would meet him there in 20 minutes. My husband came from work and met me there. We waited.. and waited... and waited. Nobody showed up. Riz calls us and asks if Apollo is there and we say no. He says "Forget Apollo, I am on my way". So we wait some more. He then calls me and asks me if we are there and I say yes. He then says, I am at Montague and Oakland and I said no, you told us Brokaw and Oakland. Super frustrating. We finally get to the right place a whole hour after we were supposed to be at the other place and we pick out our granite. He tried to convince me while we were there that we should pick a dark granite. NO, I don't want to do that, I don't like dark colors.. I had to reiterate myself several times. Then, we go to order the granite and he places an order for 2 left pieces and 1 standard. We go out to look at the granite slabs and he calls Apollo and has Apollo talk to the salesman and apparently we were supposed to get 2 right pieces and 1 standard piece. He was so all over the place and didn't understand what Apollo was saying so the salesman had to talk to Apollo. Seriously, if Riz hadn't called Apollo, we would have had 2 wrong slabs. Day 1 work was okay. They removed the plywood under our tile and stored it in the garage. However, they stored the plywood in my garage and got my car completely covered in dust and scuffed our newly refinished garage floor. My husband told me later that they had an agreement the night before that they would only use the back entrance and not the garage.. augh. The next day, Riz came with Peter who did all of the granite cutting. But, they were supposed to work in our backyard and I wasn't aware of where they were working because I was upstairs with my infant. I go outside, see that they are cutting the granite on my driveway and look at my neighbors car and see that it is completely covered in granite dust. I went over to my neighbors and gave them money to get their car washed. All of this could have been avoided had they stuck to the original plan. They let the granite sit and gave us a paper that had the information about caring for the granite. On Monday they came back and I talked to Riz about why he didn't put silicone where the wall met the granite and he said it was because we were going to do our own backsplash he wasn't going to seal it. No, that makes no sense. What does sealing the counter to the wall have to do with my backsplash?! I had him seal it. He tried to convince me to get a new garbage disposal because the stainless steal on the disposal looked a little tarnished and I said no. Low and behold, it looks the exact same as the stainless sink. I then asked Riz about sealing the granite and he said "that's your responsibility" and I was like " why is that my responsibility? You are the one that is redoing my kitchen, it's your responsibility." he then looked at me and was like "why do you think I am not doing what I am supposed to?" or something like that and I said "I don't know the process of this and I am just asking" and he said "Oh you don't know the process. Well I already sealed it for you once" Ok well if you would have said that when I first brought up sealing the granite, we would have avoided this conversation. They are fast and get things done. But, I didn't have a good customer experience. I feel like I was being taken advantage of because I was a woman and felt corners were being cut. In regards to C C's review. She hit the nail right on the head in regards to Riz, same type of behavior with us. We had our kitchen remolded always one worker on site it Alberto stopped by he was always in a hurry to leave. They hung my kitchen cabinets upside down and to high which means there were extra hole drilled. Demolished a 8 ft cabinet in my sunroom which was not to be touched, Riz said he was having a one costume made, the cabinets came from homedepot. Riz never stopped by to finalize the kitchen they were in such a hurry to get out that they left some of their equipment here. Which they will never get back. Our in laws and neighbor asked about a1 but we said no. They had over 100,000 dollars woth of work done. read more

Wife and I had the pleasure of working with Apollo and his excellent team from A-1 Home Repairs to repair/remodel our Master Bathroom and bedroom floors. Our master bathroom had been experiencing some leaking for quite some time. About a week before Christmas, it had gotten so bad that I had to do something about it. Hopped on yelp and found A-1 Home Repair among a plethora of contractors and Apollo was the only who responded quickly and came out to do a damage assessment. He was very courteous, knowledgable, and honest. He also told us that he had an idea where the problem might be, but until we open up the floor, we won't know the extent of the damage. After about a 30-45 minute assessment/consultation, my wife and I were confident that Apollo and his team were the right guys for the job. We were very budget conscious and we let Apollo know this - he gave us a very reasonable price quote and was very good about sticking to the budget and not nickel and diming us for every little detail. Along with pricing, we also told Apollo that we are very conscious about the security of our house. A-1 Home Repairs is bonded and insured; Apollo also stated that if he can't be here, his partner, Riz, would be present as much as possible. We signed a contract and work began. I was told the initial timeline of the project would be about 1-2 weeks, and his goal was to finish by New Years Eve. Apollo had some great suggestions about changing the layout of our tiny bathroom to make better use of the space AND to create for us a huge double shower. Throughout the process, he and his team were great to work with and communication with him was extremely easy! Unlike some contractors, he actually takes the time to call and provide updates on work progress and/or issues which we greatly appreciated! Fast forward one week from the start date, and the work was completed. Not only did they finish the project on time, but the quality of work was up to my very high standards! My wife and I are extremely pleased with A-1 Home Repairs and are glad to have found Apollo, Riz and their team. He is as honest and trustworthy as they get, and will certainly be my go-to guy for future home repairs and remodels.
