This business was selected by our property manager to correct a very poorly-done bathroom renovation by another local business that was causing water damage and persistent mold/mildew issues. Casa Utopia/Pro Rock Handyman did an excellent job and made the bathroom look beautiful while also addressing some serious functional issues. In total they replaced the lower portion of the shower stall floor and door, and bathroom floor. The whole job took about over a week but they were incredibly thorough, as the job included remediating water damage and unexpectedly replacing a fully corroded pipe. As renters we did not have say in the extent of the renovation or type of tile/material used, but they chose durable, quality, and great-looking tile within the parameters they were given by the property manager, which displays solid judgement and expertise. They also stand by their work, checking in with us to see if all is well and coming to address a minor cosmetic issue promptly. They were friendly, communicative, professional, and thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. Glad they were chosen to complete this job and would be happy to have them back if ever needed. read more

My kitchen sink drainage was clogged during the weekend. I checked with couple of service providers but the earliest time available is sometime next week. But ProRock construction provides the quote right away which was reasonable and made themselves available on the same day. They showed up on time, respected the property and approached the problem systematically. They fixed the problem thoroughly and stayed extra minutes to make sure the problem was indeed fixed. I would definitely recommend their service. read more

I contacted Pro Rock Handyman Service with a list of tasks. Immediately they gave me an estimate for the cost and a nice discount also. Mr. Denis and Mr. Renat came to my house and very effectively they finished all the tasks within one hour and left. The tasks were to install in a new window curtain, install a mirror to the bathroom door, fixing two smoke detectors and find a faulty smoke detector in garage which was making noises. Both of them were very polite and very professional. They made me feel very comfortable to interact with them. They already gave me links to buy a new kitchen exhaust fan which they would install next time, once delivered. Now onwards they will be the people I will work with, for all my house chores!! Thanks for their service. I have no doubt to recommend them to others. read more

Had a very good experience with Bay Area Handyman on a recent skylight tunnel installation. The project was quite tricky with ceiling reframing, canned lights and structural roof support to navigate. I was quite impressed with their enthusiasm, communication, attention to detail, and professionalism. Now I have a room with a beautiful skylight. I would certainly use them again and can highly recommend Denis and his team! read more

I contacted many service providers for a quote. Unlike many others who simply respond with a flat rate, Denis discussed the project plan with me in detail. He just started the business in the bay area with only one 5-star rating. I decided to give it a try. He came and finished the work efficiently and effectively. At critical steps or decision points, he always explained the options to me with his recommendations before taking action to give me full awareness and control. Now I am more than glad to write the second 5-star rating for him. read more

First time working with Renat and Denis and I am super impressed. We used their services to change a single light fixture into 3 pendant lights in a different location in our dining room. They were responsive, asked good questions to put together an estimate, and their work is top notch. They focused on all of the details we requested on specific positions and lengths for the lights, down to the orientation of the light fixture being just right. They patched the ceiling where the old light was and repainted (twice) until they got a perfect indistinguishable match to the rest of the ceiling. This is the only home improvement experience I've ever had of any size large or small where they thought of everything and the result was perfect. These guys are fantastic! read more

Denis and his team have worked on our house repairs. One of the projects was difficult: it involved rebuilding some wooden decorative details on the house front and was very nontrivial, since it needed to match the rest of the house. The team has done a fantastic job, just in three days (despite its complexity). Their work is high quality, and the team is very knowledgeable in doing a proper work (without "cutting corners") and the price is reasonable. I would highly recommend Denis and his team for your home projects! read more

We hired Denny and Renat to build pantry drawers and shelves. They are professional, reasonable, straightforward, and offered good recommendations, and work very hard. They listened to our needs and exceeded our expectations with the final product they built. Both Renat and Denny paid attention to smallest of details including the drawer fronts, coming up with a design that fits in with the rest of the house, and is both beautiful and functional. It has been a pleasure working with them. read more

I highly recommend Denis. I updated my shower 4 years ago and have been having leaking issues ever since it was installed. I contacted Denis and he expressed that he had experience with this type of shower. I decided to hire him to recaulk the entire shower. He was extremely thorough and did a very clean job. The shower looks like new and doesn't leak. He knew what type of caulking was most appropriate for my shower and took his time to completely remove the old caulk and seal the entire shower. The shower is finally leak free. It's obvious that he's a professional and does high quality work. He's also really nice and communicative. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again. read more

I hired Denis to help me troubleshoot an annoying beep from my hard wired smoke detector. He responded to my initial inquiry right away and was able to come out the next day as I requested. He was on time, easy to work with, professional, reasonably priced, and fast! I especially appreciated his flexibility as I had to push back our appointment at the last minute. He even took care of some very unsightly wires hanging down from the tv. I have other things I will need help with and will definitely call Denis to come back to take care of those items. Highly recommend!!! read more

Thanks to Denis, we figured out what was the cause of our kitchen lights not working. He was meticulous in his troubleshooting. He also was able to reattach a wash basin that has fallen from our vanity, and fixed some creaky doors. It was great that in 1 person, in 1 visit, all the problems were fixed! We didn't have to get a separate electrician, plumber, and handyman. His fees are also reasonable. So glad we found his service, and will definitely call him up if we have future problems! read more

Denis is passionate at what he does. A perfectionist who doesn't see problems, only solutions. Hired him to fix 2 door issues but end up giving me advise on something else that would had cost me thousands of dollars. I highly recommend Denis and will hire him in the future. read more

Denis and Renat were excellent to work with and did a beautiful job repairing and installing tile in our shower. The tile in our shower is slate and was initially installed a couple decades ago, using older methods. It also doesn't have the typical epoxy grout used in bathrooms either. Four tiles were removed by an inexperienced plumber to replace a broken shower valve. We decided to repair the existing tile rather than rip it all out to put in something newer and wanted to use the opportunity to remove some decorative leaf tiles we didn't like, so the work involved removing more tiles before repair could happen. We decided to work with Denis because from the initial communications, it was clear that he knew his stuff. He asked clarifying questions and paid attention to detail, which showed in the work he did. He and Renat were professional when at our house and went out of their way to ensure their work in the bathroom didn't disrupt the rest of the house. They ended up having to reinstall the new shower valve so that it wouldn't move in the wall (it wasn't secured by the plumber who put it in) and placed lower in the wall to match our preferred location. Instead of just sealing the slate tiles they installed, they re-sealed all the tiles in the bathroom. They kept us informed every step of the way and left our shower (and bathroom) looking better than new. If we didn't tell you we had over ten large tiles removed and replaced from our shower, you would have no idea any work had been done--that's how seamless it ended up looking. We will absolutely work with them again in the future and recommend them to anyone needing their services. read more
