If you are looking for an honest, hardworking, professional contractor look no further than Memar…read moreInteriors. We had a small hall bath remodel and small master bath remodel. Both remodels included removing all the old fixtures, tubs, toilets, cabinets, tiles and mirrors. The bathrooms were outdated and worn out from years of use. Michael was very professional from the initial contact. Our estimate meeting was scheduled very quickly and at a time that worked for my husband and me. He came in quickly took measurements and went over our wish list; he was in and out in less than 30 minutes. We had our estimate a few days later. Once we decided to move forward with the remodel, we contacted Michael and setup a time to review and sign the contract. He sent the contract over a few days before signing so we had ample time to review and address any concerns. We signed the contract on a Saturday morning and started the remodel two days later on Monday. The money: Memar Interiors was the 5th contractor we received estimates from for our bathroom remodels. Memar estimate was reasonable and appropriate for the job sizes. The design process: Michael is very pleasant to work with. He will happily give his professional opinion when asked but will not disregard your design preferences or opinion. We had a very hard time picking tile. Michael saw our struggle and offered to shop with us at the tile store to help with the choices. He helped us with final design choices on finish colors, paint colors and trim. His opinion is valued and trusted by us. The demo process: Michael's demolition team was amazing. They came in around 9AM and had the first bathroom demolished by 1130AM the same day. They were so quiet we were barely aware they were here. They covered our floor to protect it and cleaned up very nicely after the demo. The second bathroom was demolished after the first one was finished and went just as smoothly. The construction process: Michael and his team were amazing to work with. All his trades were very knowledgeable and had no issues taking time to explain things along the way or answer any questions we had. All installation and finishes were done in a timely manner with quality work. Issue resolution: While issues are expected during a renovation, the way they are handled was our biggest concern. Michael was quick to address any problem no matter how tiny as soon as it was mentioned. The biggest issues we had were time delays that we caused by ordering our toilet too late. Michael worked with us and offered solutions to keep our project moving along. Overall: We would 100% recommend Memar Interiors for a renovation or design job. The team is knowledgeable and friendly. The final project far exceeds the expectations we had. Never in a million years did I expect to have bathrooms that could be featured in a magazine, but Michael and Memar Interiors made it happen.

Very disappointing experience with Memar Interiors on a nearly $1 million renovation…read more We hired Memar Interiors in 2022 as the general contractor for a major renovation of our approximately 6,000-square-foot home. This was essentially a complete remodel involving new plumbing, electrical, HVAC, flooring, bathrooms, custom windows, doors, and extensive interior work. Unfortunately, after completion we experienced numerous problems: custom windows and other areas leaked, water intrusion near our master bedroom damaged new curtains, we had shower/water-related issues, interior door locks did not work properly, window coverings we paid for were not properly completed/installed, and there were multiple unfinished or poorly finished areas. One of the worst problems is the upstairs flooring. Sections have separated, lifted, and actually detached from the subfloor. We are now facing significant repairs/replacement. I am posting photos so people can judge the workmanship for themselves. What finally prompted me to write this review more than two years later was a recent issue with our homeowners insurance. State Farm requested a Utility Rating Plan Adjustment Worksheet regarding the plumbing, electrical, and HVAC improvements made during the renovation. To be clear, I was not asking Michael Memar to certify work he was not licensed to perform. I asked him, as the general contractor who managed our nearly $1 million project and coordinated these trades, to help us identify/contact the appropriate contractors so they could complete their respective sections of the form. Instead, I was essentially told to contact them myself and that it was not his responsibility. I was extremely disappointed by both the response and the manner in which it was communicated. We also had difficulty getting certain trades to return and complete or correct their work. Some contractors told us directly that they had payment issues with Memar Interiors and would not return. I can only state what was communicated to us, but ultimately we were left dealing with the unfinished or defective work. What makes this even more disappointing is that I trusted Memar Interiors enough to refer approximately $2 million in additional remodeling work from friends and acquaintances. Based on my experience afterward, I regret making those referrals. Problems can happen on any large construction project. The real test is whether the general contractor stands behind the work and helps resolve those problems afterward. That was not our experience. Based on our experience, I would be extremely cautious before hiring Memar Interiors for a large, complex, high-dollar renovation. After spending close to $1 million, I expected substantially better workmanship, accountability, communication, and follow-through. They transformed an old 1960's bathroom into a modern, sleek, and minimal masterpiece. I was originally quoted a two week timeline, and they actually finished the project ahead of schedule, which is pretty unheard of in construction. Not only did they finish early, but I also added two small additional projects that were not part of the original scope, and they still completed everything ahead of the original timeline. The quality of the work was excellent, and anything I wanted adjusted or done differently was addressed quickly and taken care of without issue. I would definitely recommend them.

Overall negative experience with our bathroom renovation due to poor safety, workmanship, and…read moreproject management. Examples: a chandelier over the tub was mounted to a plastic box sitting directly on ceiling drywall with the cable unsecured along the attic floor; several items required rework, including a custom vanity with an off-center sink cabinet, unlevel countertops, and visibly slanted shelves; the plumbing work had multiple problems and the plumber and his sister were fired. Ther are many, many other things I could mention. The project took over eight months instead of the four promised, with work gaps of days and sometimes weeks. I met with the PM three times to create a timeline, but they fell behind every time. The only reason he gave was schedule conflicts with other jobs. One positive: Guillermo and Jose were responsive and fully guaranteed their work. They made sure I was satisfied with the end product before ending the project.
