We ordered replacement sliding doors with screen doors. Appointment set up to install two sliding doors with screen doors. The company rep called to ask if installers had arrived. End of day we find the screen doors are missing. No one bothered to tell us. But they were very quick to put the charge through even before the installers arrived saying they charge when the truck is loaded. Obviously not based on whether the "loading" includes what is scheduled for that day. Installer told us they must be back ordered and wanted us to sign that the project was complete. We refused. What a nightmare. So many phone calls to get a response and info on when the project would be completed. Turns out there was a project manager assigned who never ever bothered to call. The sales person didn't return my calls until I emailed that I felt defrauded. I ended up calling HQ in MN and after several redirections managed to get a number for corporate complaints . I was told some senior person would call. No one did. Eventually got it all done requiring multiple emails and phone calls and having to deal with staff pointing fingers at each other. Then the calls started pushing to rate our experience a 9 or 10. So many calls from people who never bothered to inform us of the missing items or return calls when there was a problem. We were also having problems with moisture between the panes of windows installed two years ago. Family members said not to complain that they'd blow us off. But when they wanted a good rating I did complain and sent pics. Why do these companies hire people who have no skills to interact with customers? Some guy called Nick from NJ calls and talks down to me telling that moisture on the outside of the panes can be wiped off. Why would I call them if the moisture was on the outside of the panes? Just wasted my time. Have to say though that products are good (so far) which offsets to some extent the other poor experiences hence the rating is not lower. We had gone back to RBA because the first time the project went smoothly. Perhaps it was because it was organized by the HOA and many individual home owners had signed up. Avoid Renewal by Andersen - Overpriced and Unprofessional Don't be fooled by their polished advertising - Renewal by Andersen is not the premium service they claim to be. I expected top-tier quality and service, but instead, I dealt with an unprofessional team that failed to deliver. Despite taking two separate measurements, the product they provided didn't even fit my door. The price? Nearly three times higher than what Home Depot offers. I was willing to pay for quality, but what I got was a frustrating, disappointing experience. Calls go unanswered, and the salesperson who was eager to close the deal is now nowhere to be found. There's zero accountability. I even had to email the CEO, Chris Galvin, out of sheer desperation--let's see if that gets a response. I don't like these people coming to my door, trying to sell me windows and doors. They rile up my dogs. I can't hear what they're saying. I like peace in my household. If they hear dogs barking, they should turn around and leave. And the fact they shouldn't even come up I think my town does not allow soliciting so they shouldn't even be here. On top of it all their prices are outrageous and they think that by offering long-term financing terms to lower your monthly cost, but that's a good deal. It's not they do make quality windows, but they're super expensive to the point of being unaffordable and there are many better options. I would recommend you avoid Anderson windows unless you're putting them in yourself. And if you're gonna buy them buy them from Home Depot where you know you get a good fair price. read more

Renewal Windows purchased from Anderson, in Connedicut, two years ago for over 30k. Windows are good for the most part, but service is poor. One picture window was poorly installed and led to a problem with the screen being scewed. Solution was to screw the screen to better fit the window. Thats been 5 (yes 5) months ago since they took the screen back to the shop. Several message to service have gone unresponded to. Poor judgement on their part since I need 12 windows for my sunroom renovation. You really do not get what you pay for in some cases. read more

The installation of our sliding door was an absolute nightmare. We paid them to take care of the permitting process and after two months of trying to get them to close the permit and have the door inspected, they gave us the runaround only to find out that they did not Install the proper supports for the door, and the door did not pass inspection. They tried to get my architect to sign off on an affidavit without opening the wall saying that everything was installed properly even though they knew it wasn't. I'm so disappointed with this experience as renewal by Anderson is a large corporation with a good reputation or so I thought. We will never use them again for any type of installation and I'm going to tell everyone I know about this awful experience. I filled out a form online to get some information from RBA and less than 20 minutes later I received a phone call (before 8am) which, on one hand is great because it was a quick follow up, but I don't want phone calls before 8am any day from a sales person. When I didn't answer the call I received numerous text messages and emails. I didn't have the time to get back to them immediately so the calls and messages continued until I finally answered the call. I stupidly answered while at work, thinking it would be just a few minutes to schedule a day and time to come to my home for a quote, but this phone call lasted more than 15 minutes and I had to give information just shy of my blood type and social security number. The associate was lovely but I told her that I really didn't have time to be chatting about windows for this long and she apologized. But after all of that time on the phone she told me that I would need to set aside 90 minutes for a presentation. I told her that I needed one window and it shouldn't take 90 minutes for a quote on that. She told me that I needed to set aside a minimum of 60-90 minutes for this visit and I told her to cancel the visit because I don't have an hour and a half for a window quote for one window. She then told me it might be less and to please move forward with RBA so I (stupidly) agreed. Before the rep was coming my son got sick so I called to cancel and was told to let RBA know when a good day/time would be to reschedule in the future. Two days later the incessant phone calls, emails and text messages started up again. When I didn't answer I thought they would stop but they were relentless. I am now chatting with a rep via text because they called me, yet again, at 8:41am to ask them to remove me from all communications and have received no response. RBA is far too pushy. Asking for this much information to replace ONE SINGLE window is absurd and needing an hour and a half for a presentation is just ridiculous. I just wanted a quote to give to the person who broke my window but this is clearly not the company for me. read more

I will start by saying this company is a complete scam that that operates under a business model designed to take advantage of uninformed consumers. I was quoted 47,000 dollars for a job to replace a door and surrounding windows. When i balked at the price, the sales rep offered me 18% off the top. When I told him i was going to seek competitive pricing as part of my due diligence process, he said they could maybe get another 10% off. After doing my own personal due diligence, i could get a comparable install completed for roughly 25% of the price quoted to me. Do not engage with these criminals, they will do nothing but waste your time. Post Script - I wanted to write a follow up to my review above. Not long after my posting, I got a phone call from the are sales manager, Nicholas Klemm. I could immediately tell that Nick sounded genuinely upset by my experience. He was both sympathetic and maybe more importantly empathetic with what I'd gone through. He assured me what I'd went through was an anomaly, and far from what RBA was accustomed to hearing. He wanted the opportunity to change my impression of RBA, which I was open to. He offered me a fair discount for my troubles and to more than accommodate for the additional painting I had to do. He also wanted to see what he could do for me on a much needed front door. I ended up speaking with Nick a few times over the past week and a half, and we set up a time for today to review door options. He arrived with Jessica, who was knowledgable and very helpful in perusing through the door options. We ended up getting me a new front door, back door and screen door! This was the service, attention and care that I expected from RBA, and I'm glad to say that Nick was able to make a bad experience into a very good one. Now, I can happily share the amazing transformation that the RBA windows made in my house, and I can chalk up my previous experience to just a situation that wasn't handled well - Which happens. As I'd written originally, how you handle a situation is really what matters. Our sales rep was nice enough, but spent way too much time 'selling' their products. When we scheduled the appointment we explained that we were looking to replace three sliders. Our rep spent a lot of time telling us which product types were better than others, praising their Fibrex products. Then when we finally got to discussing options for our sliders, she informed us that Andersen doesn't make sliders in Fibrex. Just 15 minute prior she was saying how clad wood is bad because if moisture gets under the cladding, the wood rots. Then proceeded to try and sell us clad wood sliders. I do not believe the clad wood products are bad, but why go on and on about Fibrex when you know your sliders are not Fibrex? Then we got around to price quote - which was completely ridiculous. $65,000 to replace 3 large sliding doors. She then reworked numbers based on flyer we received offering 40% off second set of doors. Got the price down to $45,000. We were still blown away by the cost and were not about commit - and of course they put all the pressure on you to sign that day. She asked what we were thinking for price so she could make a call. $30,000? We said we needed to do some additional research before discussing any further. She still pushed, but finally gave up. Here is my big issue. When we contact a company for a quote, we expect they will give us their best price right off the bat so we can make an informed decision. That is not how this company works. They throw out a ridiculously high quote initially so that when you negotiate down you feel like you are getting a 'good deal'. If we had not questioned the price, they would have happily taken our $65,000 for the initial quote. I imagine there are a fair number of uninformed customers who do not negotiate and get ripped off. I shudder just thinking about it. Bottom line is don't be pressured into making a decision same day. Do your research. We are purchasing 3 high quality Pella sliders from Lowes, with a lifetime warranty on most materials - for almost half the $45,000 quoted by Renewal by Anderson. Plus much faster turn around. Better or worse products? Who knows. But the warranty is decent. Pella also offers 2 year warranty on labor for repair/replacement - same as Renewal. I'll take my chances to save $20,000. read more

I recently had two windows installed and during the process plastic was placed on my hardwood floor for protection. Unfortunately the plastic had adhesive on the bottom and when pulled up it destroyed the finish on my floor. Having an open concept home this meant my entire living area had to be refinished. Company staff was extremely rude and disrespectful during the settlement process. This repair required me to literally move out of my house for a week, furniture, clothes and all. I originally reached out to Renewal 3 times before more than 1 year ago. Both times there was an issue, once a no show right before the appointment and once no one showed up with no call at all. Finally decided to try again. I am so glad I did. The rep that showed up at our home was Joe Cardone. All I can say I never met a rep of any company that was "real". Down to earth. I am a no nonsense person, let's get down to the bottom line. Joe was the same. We discussed all options possible. Fantastic conversation and always contactable when we had questions. When Joe and I spoke, I made a point that we needed this job complete NLT than August 4th because of an upcoming annual family BBQ at my home. Joe took that to heart and very seriously. I was thrilled when I received the email and call that the door was ready for install and by July 14th. The installation was delayed a day because of the bad storms and weather. The install team was gracious and helpful. The weather turned real bad on the 14th and I was in contact with the driver and for their safety, I asked them to not come up. The driver automatically suggested they would gladly come out Saturday morning by 0830. That was awesome. Not only did they show up Saturday morning, they showed up earlier than 0830. This 2 man crew was outstanding. In a matter of 3+ hours the old entry door was out and the new one installed. A fantastic looking door. Amazing the amount of noise this door keeps out. Overall, everything with Renewal was outstanding. I will make sure to tell family, friends and colleagues the overall outstanding job done by Renewal. read more

Hi, I made an appointment with Anderson which ended up being cancelled for the most ridiculous reason. I was told that Anderson cannot consult with me unless the property owner is present. They even asked me if the property owner can be on a video call. My landlord lives out of state, is rarely in New York, and is an elderly person who is not good with technology. Mind you, I already spoke with my landlord and he knows I need a new window and is allowing me to consult with a Window company and I would just need to send him the price quotes. I was told that they cannot come unless they met with the property owner who is NEVER here. This kind of customer service us UNACCEPTABLE Anderson! and I don't care what your reasoning is. Let's see if RBA Westchester responds to my review: Some info that I uncovered researching RBA after their salesman, Jim Lester was at my home back in January for an excruciating 2hr. 10 minutes presentation. My wifi was out so he wasn't able to provide a quote or pressure me into signing a contract but he also never sent me a proposal afterwards. - RBA only pushes and installs their Andersen windows because that's all they sell BUT it's not Andersen's best window. The 400 series Tiltwash are better windows made of wood inside with Fibrex exterior so are structurally stronger. - Renewal by Andersen is a franchise like McDonalds. Each location is individually owned so when you see their commercials about a no high-pressure sales tactic and then read reviews that say differently, you'll know why. I bought my windows from Windowrama - Simonton/Plygem's 5500 Reflection series. It has a lifetime warranty on the windows; 5 years on glass (9800 Impressions series has lifetime on glass) and prorated on the window and hardware after 20 years so the homeowner pays a sliding scale percentage after that. Warranty is also transferrable. Compare that to RBA's warranty that ends after 20 years. Note the labor is only guaranteed for 2 years, I believe. So much for their "triple warranty guarantee." No matter how great any window the warranty is the most important thing so read the contract and fine print. Put it another way; if RBA's windows are so great, why does the warranty end after 20 years, labor after 2 years? My Simonton windows, with triple pane and extra UV sun block protection package, cost several thousands of dollars less and I got a better window (U-factor rating of .22) and warranty than RBA. When we first reached out to Renewal by Andersen, we loved how quickly they got back to us. They were able to send a rep onsite same day, Joe, and he was fantastic. Super knowledgable and confident in the right ways; so much so we ended up purchasing a new oversized slider the same day. It took almost 4 months for the install to happen, which we understood and were okay with. From there the experience went downhill in that they confirmed the install date two days before, then a day later told us it actually was backordered and they didn't have a new ETA. Frustrating to say the least, it got pushed another couple weeks. I gave the feedback to our Project Manager that we were dissastified and frustrated they confirmed then told us we had weeks longer to wait. She agreed it was unreasonable and said she'd be back in touch to make this right. They came onsite to install, the techs were great, but they informed us that the screen was backordered and they'd have to come back to install. We felt that we should have been informed about this prior to install. From there, I followed up with our PM as we hadn't heard anything from her and gave further feedback about the screen install, while also sharing further dissastisfaction in their overall communication. It took them a week to confirm ETA for the screen to arrive, after we had to follow up twice. They confirmed screen install for 930/10, and by 1030 no one had shown up. I contacted them to let them know I would not be available all day and was wondering if they were still planning on coming. They said they were backed up in the warehouse, and someone would be there soon, again with no ETA. The tech ended up showing up 4 hours later. Our PM committed to prompt follow up and resolution for how poorly our experience had been and she completely failed with that. We are new homeowners with the need to ultimately replace windows across our entire house. We were hoping to create a good relationship with Andersen and use them for all future work as we have a lot upcoming and we're totally turned off by this entire experience. I had two renewal by Andersen patio doors installed recently, The doors are beautiful and the installation is perfect. Since these projects turned out so well I once again contracted with Renewal by Andersen to replace several windows in my home. Some problems have arisen since the signing of the contract on August 18, 2023. In September a measurer came out to measure for said project. Since that time I have been trying to reach out to my sales person to inspect the schematics. The drawings were never done. Many, many calls were placed to my sales person requesting the schematics. My calls were never returned. I reached out to customer service. My complaint is being handled by Kat. Kat made the window drawings in accordance with the measurements, Kat suggested I get in touch with my sales person, Jessica, I arranged a phone appointment. In that phone conversation I requested a change for six windows from crank style opening to Gliders, I agreed with the updated drawing. I would also need an updated Loan agreement with Greensky to reflect the lower price. Jessica said this process should take five days. Five days would Friday, October 20th. I'm leaving this matter open in order to continue with what transpires moving forward.......................... read more

Their commercial says something about, we nail it the first time... Yeah right! The salesman comes to my home, (very nice, professional guy, I might add) gives me a written quote; gets us credit approvals; then returns a few days later with a doubled quote. What is wrong with that picture? The portrait looks authentic; however, scratch the surface before purchasing. Also, we had to go through quite a bit to cancel the credit. This was after receiving a rather cool email, saying something to the effect of cancellation due to us questioning the price change. Not with a suggestion and/or solution. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent. I've used Renewal by Andersen for a number of years, gradually replacing all of the original windows in my 1928 Tudor. I don't know where these bad reviews are coming from. I am a very picky customer. Andersen does a great job, they stand by their work and the windows are excellent. My heating bill has probably gone down by 30% since I completed replacing all windows. Your mileage may vary. Andersen does the following things that all businesses should do: They respect the customer - Len our sales rep was great. He followed up after the job and made sure that minor questions and issues I had were dealt with. Terry, the technician who fixed those issues was super professional, respectful and skillful. Moreover, since this is the time of Covid, I should mention that Terry maintained very hygienic practices, he wore booties, gloves and a mask and sprayed down every surface that he touched. I couldn't have asked for more. They respected my property - they always clean up debris, materials etc. read more

Called renewal by andersen on the phone (windowrama in milford ct). They sent over a price quote with 3 stationary doors where what was needed was two stationary doors and a glider. I called the parts center over at Andersen and gave them all the numbers on the doors and they said "sorry sir, we can't help you". They asked if I wanted to wait for a phone survey, I said yes, and then they hung up. This company is a waste. Renewal by andersen just does a replacement, they don't sell parts, that is a "different business unit". The left hand does not talk to the right hand and there is no information sharing. I had an order number from the last time I ordered from them and they still could not figure out a part number for a replacement patio door. This company is worse than useless. read more

We ordered windows and a patio door back in March install done June 29. OK so some of this bad review is my fault since I should have known better I knew windows & patio doors were way overpriced but I wanted to take advantage of 0 interest financing and leave my $ in the bank. So I order 7 windows & a patio door for $20200. The first red flag should have been when salesman had no idea what a window opening control device was(window lock so you can leave windows open for air & they can not be pushed open any further) So against my better judgement I went ahead with the ordering sold on quality windows & expert installation even though I knew I could get the same Patio door for half the cost at Home Depot. So fast forward to install day. A ONE Man crew shows up, he tells me his partner is sick and he can do it alone no problem. Three days later he leaves job completed. There were a few issues not noticed until installer left:Sliding door not closing flush to doorjamb( needed adjustment) floor lock patio door not installed, window lock installed unevenly making lock useless on one side. Nothing major but all small annoyances you don't expect when you pay $20200 for 7 windows & a patio door.So I was referred to the installation manager who couldn't have been nicer but I was floored when during the course of our conversation I mentioned that I was surprised they sent an installer alone to do the job and he had no idea the installer worked alone for 3 days How does that happen? At those prices they should send 3 installers. The installer came back (I was at work)Moved window locks on both sides and leaves me with 4 patched drill holes in a brand new $1800 window. Another thing about these windows they are high quality but none can be closed & locked without using 2 hands & heavy pressure my wife can't do it alone. I'm not sure this is normal or an install defect. I contacted installation manager again about the patched holes in window & he assures me there should be no patched holes in new window so he will order new window sashes to fix issue. That was first week of July it is now October 18th & I'm still waiting. Another satisfied customer? Maybe it was an off experience but I think not. I simply don't believe this company can be in business, let alone what they claim. WORST experience we've ever had. Workmanship shoddy. Ninety percent of the measurements were wrong and botched. Order was never completed. We ordered screen door which was delivered and then taken away, never to return with no refund. We were charged for a lead test which was never done and there was no refund. Because of botched and incorrect measurements, we had to buy a whole new set of windows for our living room. There were mistakes on the bill resulting in a refund. Windows are nice but are WAY too overpriced and definitely not worth the hassles we went through to get them installed. This is only tip of iceberg but I think you get the picture. This company is NOT recommended. Better to go elsewhere. Save your money and get competent workers. Our dream renovation was ruined due, in part, to the incompetence of Renewal by Andersen Stamford. The best part of the experience was the salesman who was terminated after this incident. He was the only one who did things right. read more

The 2 stars are really for the windows. The business in CT gets 1 star because they were misleading and disappointing. I got 6 windows for $13,000. These windows are just okay but 100% ABSOLUTELY not worth the money. What a waste of time and money. I regret not shopping around and not sticking with the original impression of the 1st arrogant little sales guy. The 2nd sales guy was much nicer and brought a sample window. They were sliders that "allegedly" slid completely past each other (the left went all the way over to the right and vice versa). However, there are no finger inserts or handles to facilitate this move. Either you place your palm on the glass or force your fingers in between the edge of the window and the window frame in order to slide them. I asked about hardware to make the window sliding easy and he assured me there was something available. The installation was uneventful and the men were nice, professional and tidy. One guy offered to remove his shoes at the front door, I guess he was being considerate of the hardwood floors and I appreciated the offer. One of the guys left a small crowbar type tool on my bed but maybe it matched the comforter and he didn't notice it when he left. Who knows? The 2nd salesman said Andersen does so well with replacement sales that they may eventually only sell replacements as opposed to brand new. That was when I decided he was a genuine salesman. What a line! If Anderson sells only replacement windows, they will go out of business. Do not waste your time with this business in Stamford, CT. They were all in until they got the money. Called them rep was rude. Told them I have a window that's broken water is coming in from outside. They told me for one window they wouldn't call me back and would not come replace it. Went somewhere else they will replace the window and others. Find reliable people to do your work. read more

I had an appointment and the person was a no show. Robert Santiago called me yesterday and hung up on me. When I called him back he refused to answer the phone. When I called to find out what happened they didn't know what happened and CLAIMED something was wrong with their system. I decided to make another appointment and I was told they would charge me for the consultation. Consultation fee was never mentioned when I scheduled the first appointment. Person shows up today, 3/14/2016 and had no interest in the Windows I want replaced. Automatically he assumed I could not afford to pay for Windows because he asked if I was paying cash or needed credit, but didn't take any measurements. Buyer beware!!!! Poor customer service. We replaced all of our windows and two entry doors with RBA in Stamford CT last July. We needed one service call on the windows (which have been quite good). We're happy with them. That said, don't EVER buy Provia entry doors from them. They apparently don't know how to install the doors as we've had nothing but problems and twice the repairman has said "this fix may require re installation." I've called countless times and been told it will be taken care of. It's not. First they blamed Covid 19 - a reasonable excuse, but it's been downhill since then. The last call to them prior to today I spoke with someone who said "the service manager Amanda will call you back today." That was at least two weeks ago. I've sent texts, taken pictures of the problem areas and sent them. And NO ONE CALLS BACK OR DOES ANYTHING. This level of service for an (extremely) premium product is absolutely unacceptable. I would advise anyone considering working with these guys to look for an alternative.
