I replaced some windows in our new (!) home and chose Renewal by Andersen. There was a flyer put on our door and I called the number for an appointment. The sales rep, Jake, appeared right on time on the agreed upon date. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He sold me on the windows, which came in my higher than the estimate I received from Home Depot. Let me state upfront that Andersen windows are expensive. Very expensive. But they sell quality windows and quality install, so I went with them. I believe in the product, so we'll see if I was right or not. Time will tell. The measurement guy showed up on time on the agreed upon day. The installers showed up on time on the agreed upon day. The installers did a good job and replaced 5 windows in about 2 hours. The windows look great and just glide open and close. There was a slight mishap and a wall was damaged, but I received a call from customer service within 48 hours for a repair guy to fix it. He showed up on time and the agreed upon day. He did a wonderful job and you can't even tell where the accident happened. Overall, I have had a great experience. So much so that I ordered round two, another 5 windows. I would just say that it is a shame that builders use such cheap windows during new construction. If they put in Andersen to begin with I would not have to incur the extra expense. read more

So we loved our rep at first! We even talked about church and BBQing together and everything. He was doing a great job! So we decided to move forward. They were great about getting us scheduled and keeping contact with us leading up to the installation. It was pretty expensive, but with the promise of all the bells and whistles and a great relationship with RBA, we figured it was worth it. Well we have barn doors covering our sliding glass door, so they had to take those off before installing the new one. When they were done, they accidentally took the metal things attached to our floor that held the barn doors up. After trying and trying and TRYING to get ahold of the crew and my rep and all the people they pawned me off to, I kept getting blown off. We couldn't hang the barn doors back up without those 2 little parts. The only way to fix it was to buy a whole new hardware set (costing over $100) because that one part wasn't sold separately - and we looked EVERYWHERE. Thankfully I explained the situation to the company we got the barn doors from and asked if we could just purchase that part from them... Unfortunately we couldn't, so they sent us an ENTIRE brand new hardware set for FREE. So basically once RBA got our money, all we heard was crickets. It was only when I expressed my sheer disappointment that I got a real response from our rep, and he had an attitude about it like *I* was being hasty (I assure you I was not). If it wasn't for that other company, we STILL wouldn't have our barn doors up (and it's been almost a year). This door cost more than the fully-loaded 2018 Ford Edge Titanium I just bought (in impeccable condition). It's sad that the barn door company I spent less than $1,500 with fixed my issue with zero hesitation and extreme promptness than a company I spent more than my car with. 0/10 would not recommend. read more

Had a glass patio door installation scheduled for today and tomorrow. Made sure to rearrange work schedule to be present and board pets to facilitate the install. Formal Consumer Complaint: Renewal by Andersen - Elderly Homeowner Exploitation My elderly parents recently used Renewal by Andersen for window and door replacement at their single-family home while I was out of town. Unfortunately, their experience mirrors many of the complaints I've since read about this company. The sales team used high-pressure tactics on my parents -- both seniors living on a fixed income -- convincing them to sign a contract totaling $50,000 for only 11 windows and two front doors. That price is outrageous and far beyond reasonable market rates. The company appeared to take advantage of their age and lack of technical knowledge. My parents also paid cash so that they could get the discount which was a marketing ploy. During installation, the crew consisted entirely of non-English-speaking workers, with an on-site supervisor or representative who could clearly communicate with the homeowners or explain the process but did not do so thoroughly. Several windows were installed over visibly damaged and leaking window sills without addressing the need to repair the underlying issues first. Now, barely a week after installation, the plaster and molding are cracking, peeling, and showing clear signs of water intrusion. This is unacceptable workmanship and a potential case of elder consumer exploitation. My family will be reporting this matter. Companies should not be allowed to target or pressure vulnerable older adults into overpriced, substandard contracts -- particularly for critical home repairs. We had all the windows in our house replaced and the installation and removal and clean up went great. The widows keep the house cooler in the summer and much warmer in the winter than the windows that were install when house was built. The new Anderson windows looked better and opened with ease. Some of the old windows were hard to open and some took two hand to try to slide then open. Anderson came back after a delivery crew had damaged my back sliding door and replaced the entire sliding door and frame and it worked like new. I cannot say enough about the service and materials in the Renew by Anderson produces. read more

No one should hire Renewal by Anderson. Their advertisements are false, deceptive and misleading. I order 2 doors from RBA. The salesman took measurements and then another resp came out to measure. One of the doors they delivered was too small for the rough opening and they used about 3 inches of wood to make it fit. The installer said they would follow up to reinstall the proper size door. They did not. I sent several emails that went unanswered. I will file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office, the BBB, and notify other consumers of this company's deceptive business practices. read more

Just a note about customer service. I called to find out about an odd-shaped door, and they could not help me because they only do replacements of the whole door system which is fine. I however asked if they possibly could direct me to someplace that might be able to help with my specific project and I hit a stone wall. Could not tell me about anything other than Anderson although I have to think that they know all kinds of things about their industry, just refused to share. Never using Anderson because who wants to deal with jerks!!! We had french doors that opened to our carport that nobody wanted to replace because it wasn't a standard size. We finally tried Renewal by Andersen. Granted they were pricey, but that door is a marvel! After the sketchy door I had there this door is a dream, it has heavy glass and locks tight. I feel safe and secure. Highly recommend the doors. They measured and remeasured and when I felt it wasn't right they would return until it was, that was major service, I appreciated that, we got what we paid for! read more

I wasn't going to take the time to leave a review until Renewal by Andersen returned to my house over a year later, after I chose a different company that already replaced my windows, and left a flyer in my mailbox stating that my (brand new) windows are an "outdated style" and "not energy efficient". Regarding quality of my windows, their helpful flyer had a "frowny face". The interesting thing is this flyer was mailed to my house and looks like the "inspection" results handwriting was pre-printed on the form as if everyone probably gets the same analysis and cute little frowny face. I doubt anyone was even at my house to inspect my windows. Ok, Renewal by Andersen here we go: 1) if you want to talk about an "outdated style" let's talk about your "one size fits all" frames that are VERY wide and tacky looking. On smaller windows you end up with more frame than window. And you KNOW that customers won't like that because you make them acknowledge in your contract that they are aware that the frames are wider than normal--something that really means nothing until you actually see them in person and it's too late. I'll take my "outdated style" that offered various frame widths based on the size of window being replaced over your ugly looking bulky frames that cover up much of the surface area of the glass. But thanks for your "expert opinion". 2) the "outdated" windows that I had put in instead of your bulky, overpriced ones are Energy Star rated and since I've already had a full season to compare, I can see with verifiable lower utility usage that they are indeed energy efficient. The fact someone in your company decided to tell me mine are not tells me your people know nothing about windows. Now regarding the process that I went thru with Renewal by Andersen. Your commercial that claims a no pressure sales process is also fake news. The estimate starts with an outrageously high amount that miraculously gets lower for a variety of "todays specials" leaving the new amount being... ridiculously high. Then your salesman gives an additional discount "if you sign tonight". To me... that's high pressure, not sure what you'd call that. Then when one makes it clear that they are only signing to not lose the extra discount knowing there's a high chance they'll be canceling in three days, "can't you just honor the discount for a few days so we don't have to go thru the hassle?" the answer is "no". More high pressure I assume because you know a certain percentage will not want to go thru the trouble of canceling? Then when one does cancel, not only because the sales guy was apparently too busy with family matters to provide an itemized breakdown as requested, the otherwise nice sales guy that I was completely civil and respectful to even as he told me about his life struggles, replies that "Renewal by Andersen's high end windows target a particular class of customer and they're not for everyone" and ends the email with a snarky "Stay warm!". Note to him: it wasn't an issue about me not being able to afford R by A, it was that neither he nor the company successfully showed the value. Is the class of customer he's referring to those who take zero time to investigate options and just go with the first company they call? Then he's right, that ain't me! Then after cancellation, after I was earlier assured that my "sign that night" offer was the best possible price, I get a phone call asking me if they can send out an engineer because "many times they can do a more detailed analysis and find other ways to save money". Seriously?!? It was also curious that you claimed many of my "stool / apron" or windowsills needed to be replaced (additional charge) and that my shutter frames I had on every one of my nearly 30 windows would have had to have been completely removed by someone else other than you (that I had to arrange) before you would install my windows. Not an easy or cheap feat not to mention my initial professional installers took a long time to get them perfectly installed / level. Come to find out, the company that replaced my windows did not need any of the shutters to be removed. And zero of the sills needed replacement as none had any damage. Had I gone with you and foolishly hired and paid someone extra to unnecessarily remove (and replace) my shutters can you imagine how awkward it would have been trying to live in a house for days if not weeks with nothing covering the windows????? You also informed me that you do nothing with alarm systems and that I would have had to schedule my alarm company to come out and reinstall the sensors--the company I used did all of that, too, without me having to schedule yet another thing around a window replacement. I scheduled a month out, got an insane amount a follow up calls , at least seven, leading up to the week of the appointment, mind you with a newborn at home that seemed a bit excessive to have to reply to all of those to confirm 1 appointment. Then the day of the appointment no one showed up and no one called. I called to check if someone was on the way and was told that they had a scheduling glitch and couldn't come at the schedule time but could send someone later that evening. Seriously called her 5 million times to confirm an appointment and never once mentioned that they needed to reschedule then?! We had a salesperson come out to quote us on 5 new windows. Gave a huge, hour long speech about how great their windows are and why their price point makes it worth it. I'm sure their windows are great, but take a look around the house you're in before you quote someone $30k for new windows. I can assure you, my wife and I have a nice home, but you can tell from the inside that we're not swimming in cash and can in no way justify that price for 5 new windows. Horrendous customer service. They install huge windows for us perfectly then their painters came in and instead of staining the doors they painted the 30K+ doors/windows. Anderson will close ranks and blame you the customer. They had the balls to tells managers we let the painters in and just left. No sir. During a pandemic we all are working from home and asked the painters if they had questions and both said "no". However they tell everyone else we left them and didn't have guidance so they ruin everything instead? Makes no sense. They did a reorder that took 15 weeks (11 weeks longer on a rush). Stay away from Anderson in Carrollton. Save your money and keep the broken beat up Windows you have.... they'll be better than what Anderson gives you and again service is beyond horrible! we actually love the product but the process and lies were really bad? we did 2 phases. first round 3 installers...did great installing but didn't cover anything. dust everywhere. we were told by Renewal that was wrong and would speak to them for future . 2nd phase 1 installer for remaining 5 windows...this young man was only a subcontractor for them. our first group was probaby sub too. I guess all that sales talk about "we have best guys, been doing it for years, they super picky and will remove and put back blinds". Total BS. phase 2 took 12 hours and still not complete and the caulking was bad. be careful before signing on the dotted line for thousands. we would never recommend Renewal by Anderson. read more
