Renovations are usually a nightmare, but working with them was the smooth part. They actually listened to what we wanted and didn't make a big deal out of the small design tweaks we made along the way. That patience alone saved our sanity. He helped us coordinate with the insurance company, and got to work almost immediately. I was shocked by how efficient he was at coordinating the different subcontractors who installed the floors, cabinets, counters, tile backsplash, painters, etc. It was like a well oiled machine with almost no days where work wasn't being conducted, including Saturdays. My wife and I went into the process of looking for contractors expecting we could be without a kitchen for months. Turned out, with Palatin, the whole renovation only took about 4 weeks! If anyone has been through a major renovation, and had to get temporary housing, you know there is nothing more valuable than limiting the time away from home... except the quality of the work. Luckily, Palatin did not disappoint in quality either. We LOVE our new kitchen. The cabinets are great quality and look amazing. The counters are beautiful. The backsplash is pure art, and the floors and moulding are exactly what we wanted.

(Note: The furniture bar cabinets and library were added later on and were not part of this contractor's project). From start to finish, the entire team was extremely professional, dedicated, and highly skilled. On the very first day we met, Nir helped design a 3D view of the project that perfectly captured exactly what we had envisioned. Throughout the build, we had a weekly walkthrough with Nir to check if we had any questions or concerns, which kept communication incredibly clear. Elba was also an excellent project coordinator who was always available to answer our questions and keep everything on track daily. The construction crew themselves were clearly very experienced and knowledgeable; they followed our approved plans meticulously and were happy to accommodate extra requests along the way. You can truly gauge the quality of their work by the fact that every single city inspector visit passed on the first try--nothing ever had to be rescheduled or redone because everything was built perfectly to plan. Additionally, all of the finishes--from the drywalling to the trim work and paint--were done with high-quality materials and top-tier craftsmanship. Overall, it was a great experience, and we highly recommend them!

I was first referred to Preferred Builders by my tax preparer, Happily, my first repair/remodel turned out wonderfully so I immediately started a remodel on my own home. Scope of work: remove all the carpeting in the house and install laminate plank flooring in those areas. The travertine flooring in the entry, kitchen and hallway had large craters which collected dirt and water residue after washing. I had the floor steamed, the craters filled and the whole floor resealed. I had a gasline installed in the kitchen and a new gas oven installed. I also had a complete bathroom remodel which included removing a huge jacuzzi tub and installing an elegant and safe walk in shower. For the bathroom Nir listened to my concerns and needs and then gave me two 3-D renderings of my options. Elba was fabulous and fast with permits, a purchase list and provided weekly job schedules and updates. I have now completed this remodel and I can't be happier. My Preferred Builders team was pure gold! I highly recommend Nir, Elba and Orel, the Foreman. Orel was caring and his experience was invaluable, Roman, (drywall, moldings, paint, flooring) Carlo (beautiful tile work) and Abnir were all professional, caring and kind. My remodel was reasonable and fast. I definitely recommend Preferred and I already have.

This remodel was bigger than the first job. It wasn't easy because there were many funny little issues in addition to the significant problems needing to be fixed. From the start, they made sure to go over every single detail and explain what each choice would mean. We weren't the easiest clients this time around because we changed our minds so many times, but it was never a problem. They were kind and patient throughout, and always had good workarounds for every issue, just like with the project 11 years ago. The job just concluded last week, and the work is top notch. I cannot express how much I hate doing this kind of project, but Oren and Eden Builders made this as tolerable as can be. Hopefully, it's not going to be anytime soon, but the next project will be with Eden Builders too. Thanks Oren and team for another amazing job.

KITCHEN & BATH REMODEL…read more After a flood in our kitchen and a leak in our master bath my wife and I searched long and hard to find the right team to help us. We are very happy to report that we found Uppacott Legacy! They are absolutely wonderful to work with! A family owned and operated business that will not just take your vision from a seed of excitement to a full-grown mature oak of excellence but will make sure you enjoy the process along the way. We have been working with them now for over a month on designing and creating a full kitchen and master bath remodel. We knew we had the right team when Samantha picked up our little dog Gracie and zipped her into her hoodie turning it into a puppy-björn on a busy day to keep her safe from getting stepped on while we focused on design. This extra care is emblematic of their entire approach to the job. We have had many of their subcontractors out to the house. Tile, Electrical, Cabinetry, Plumbing and more. We have had a number of the inevitable surprises that come with any construction project. Uppacott Legacy handled them all with integrity and professionality. We have had enough experience with Uppacott to feel very comfortable highly recommending them for all of the following reasons. Organization: We met with them in person the day after we called them. Within a week we had not only already begun progress on the project, but they had gone above and beyond our expectations by installing, out of the kindness of their hearts, a temporary sink in our kitchen after they saw us washing dishes in our laundry room because we had no kitchen sink. They also use a program called JobTread that is the best form of communication we have ever experienced from a contractor. It's online. It's available 24/7. It's updated daily by their office staff and is a one stop information center for what's happening next, budget, plans, what they need from us, and more! It's amazing to have that much information on demand. Teamwork: Samantha, Chris and Tristen are the core of the company. Samantha and Chris are married and Tristen is their son. He's in his 20's and has grown up learning from his parents. We cannot stress enough how enjoyable they all are to work with. They are a family unit that works well together. They are extremely professional but they bring with them a positive atmosphere of humor and playfulness that only comes from a happy family doing what they love. This attitude trickles down to their subcontractors and we have been comfortable with everyone that has come into our home. Skills: Samantha is a contractor and the project manager. She has an incredible eye for design with contacts throughout the Los Angeles and Ventura area that ensures she has access to the best material at the best prices. She understands the importance of everyday value while also knowing when to go big when you want to make a statement. Incredibly easy to get along with she is an excellent communicator who always listens to us and makes sure what we want is what happens. Chris, her husband, executes with excellence. Also incredibly easy to work with he is most often on the job site. He has the experience to know when to focus on the minutia to ensure something works just right and when to widen the scope of his vision to make sure everything works well together. Tristen, their son, is a force for good. He is inherently positive and tackles the most challenging tasks with enthusiasm. If Chris isn't on site Tristen is there. He has explained to us the most complex construction concepts succinctly and in plain English. He is the future of the company and works hard to live up to the standards his parents model for him daily. Their whole team have made our lives better throughout this process. We could go on and on about the amazing time we have had working with Uppacott Legacy and can't recommend them highly enough!

Showcase Kitchens & Bath did a complete remodel on our master bathroom, and did a fantastic job…read more I'm thrilled with the results! I wouldn't go anywhere else to have work done. I had 3 other estimates before finding Showcase, and even know they are pricey, there were no hidden costs, as I could tell there would be with other companies. Scott West came out and was very thorough at helping me find all the materials and do the design. His integrity and expertise made it go smoothly. We had the ceiling and 2 walls removed, and added an outer wall, it was a huge undertaking. Once all the decisions were made, it was handed over to Steve Love, the project manager, who was amazing! Steve is a perfectionist, and involved in even the tiniest details. He gave me everything I wanted and more. They kept the project clean, and kept me informed at every move. They showed up everyday as promised. We did go over the completion date, but that's because I changed my mind several times, and Steve accommodated me at every level. He walks around with a small flashlight inspecting every inch of the project daily, making sure it's going correctly. Their subcontractors were all professional and highly trained. I highly recommend Showcase Kitchen and Bath, I wouldn't try to save money and just find hidden costs and headaches, these are the guys to go to!

We paid $3,000 for a design, of which 50% was supposed to be used as a credit if we went with them…read more We had sticker shock when we saw their estimate so we got 3 other bids through referrals from friends. The cabinets were 50% more and construction costs were 75% more than other bids for the same work! We obviously chose to go elsewhere but they refused to release the designs, so we basically burned $3,000 and a lot of time only to learn that they were unnecessarily expensive. When I asked them for the designs they became defensive and refused to provide them. During this process, we also ordered a bathroom vanity from them that was 50% more than what we could have purchased locally, but we liked the design and were already working with them so we proceeded. The vanity took a month longer than expected to arrive and was wrong, but at this point we couldn't wait any more because the project had been held up so much. The people we worked with were all nice but their pricing and policies are completely out of touch with the market today. I wish I could recommend them but there are so many better options.
