We are so pleased with our project! We converted our garage into a 1200sq ft, 2-story ADU with 3 BR & 2.5BA, and it came out beautifully! Our contractor, Daniel, of Safe Side Builders was extremely communicative from the day I first inquired about starting the project through project completion. He has lots of energy and you can tell he is passionate about his work. We also enjoyed working with our foreman Genaro and architect Christos. They were all professional, easy to interact with and communicate our needs and preferences to, and just all around good people, which was important when embarking on a journey of working together daily for close to a year from permit approval to final inspection approval. Any delays in our project were primarily while awaiting city permit approvals for the initial design and changes we later made to the plans that better suited our family's needs and aesthetics. Safeside Builders was always prompt, efficient, and worked swiftly to completed its parts in the project. They also have many reliable subcontractor recommendations, some of which we used, but they respected and encouraged working with our own subcontractors when we preferred to. Although this was not the cheapest estimate we received for the project, we saw their work in person and moved forward with this company because we were impressed by the quality of their work and materials, as well as testimonials from other customers. We have already recommended Safe Side to family and friends for their design and construction needs and they have reported back that they are very pleased as well. Daniel Alon was recommended by a friend & he didn't disappoint! In my head, I knew exactly what I wanted for my bathroom & through trials & tribulations, he and his team helped me realize exactly what I pictured. When I called Daniel, he came out immediately & had a quote within a day. A lot of contractors won't even respond to a request to just renovate a bathroom. I got such a good vibe from his responsiveness & positivity that I didn't even get any other quotes. Throughout the process, Sabino, Jenaro (?) and Chui arrived on time and did everything with a smile, as did their tiler, Choco. And they really know what they are doing. When I freaked out because I realized I didn't like the bench tiles I picked out, they gave me options & calmed me down. They'd always give me their honest opinion, and they answered my zillion questions along the way. In fact, Daniel encouraged me to ask questions. Even once the job was finished (and paid for), when there were a couple of things I didn't love, they came back to fix them. Reliable, Professional and High Quality Work. My go-to contractor for projects big and small. I cannot say enough about how responsive, reliable, and professional owner Daniel and his crew are. Daniel responded to my inquiries with a hour or two and was able to come and assess project needs within a day. He has been able to get a crew to start the repairs as early as within a few days. He takes all jobs seriously, even small repairs. They may not always be the lowest bid, but I can count on the quality of work, responsiveness to issues and reliability. We had a couple of emergency plumbing leaks this year and had to break the drywall and ceiling to repair the leaks. I called Daniel for the repairs. I got a quote quickly and he delivered exactly as quoted. His crew arrived on time as scheduled, laid down protection materials carefully and cleaned up debris when done. Both times, his crew finished the repairs in a day and finished painting the second day. They matched the existing paint perfectly, blending is excellent. One of the walls has a textured surface and only part of the wall needed repair. Daniel's crew did a great job recreating the texture look, it blended in so well. Looks just like the original. Last winter, high winds cause some damage to my roof and Daniel's crew came quickly to repair and replace the shingles. Daniel is a very experienced contractor and has good and practical solutions to offer. He is my go-to person for any work in the house and I highly recommend them. I have recommended them to friends. We recently completed a large remodel project with Safe Side Builders including a main bathroom remodel, a guest bath remodel and new LVT flooring for our first floor and we could not be more happy with the project or results!!! As both my wife and I are both working from home due to the pandemic, it was important that we work with a contractor who would be sensitive to our schedules and accommodating that we were still staying in our home during construction. After initially interviewing three different contractors, we made a decision to go with Safe Side. During our initial meeting with Safe Side, we made a really great connection with Daniel and felt he was 100% aligned with our goals and needs. Daniel provided a very fair quote and was very honest about the expected project duration and clear on project deliverables. Before the project started, Safe Side was extremely thorough with providing our list of deliverables and overall was excellent with pre-work/planning. Daniel personally came to our home 4 or 5 times to walk his different teams through job before even starting. Throughout the project, Daniel was very responsive and always available via text or a conversation. Daniel checked in often to give status and update on the remodel. We were never in the dark on where we were in the project and always knew what to expect next. This was very important to us and helped us feel at ease throughout the remodel. Daniel listened to our feedback and concerns along the way and was very flexible, even making changes mid-project to make sure we were happy. He treated our home like it was his home and made many great recommendations that went above and beyond our expectations. He provided valuable suggestions and recommendations but left it to us to decide and never pushed one way or the other (although he always had a solid opinion and excellent rationale). Equally, we were very impressed with Safe Side's excellent subcontractors. They were all very neat, polite, easy to work with and followed all COVID protocols. During the project, Daniel was present onsite often even if just for a half-hour to check in. He never hesitated to come over when we needed to discuss something even though the drive was sometimes over an hour. He felt very "present" through the whole project. Safe Side was very organized when it came to bookkeeping and billing. They always explained where we were in the project, what payment they were collecting for and made sure to mark both their invoices and ours so we also were tracking. At the end, the project was completed in the time frame that had initially been promised and the work was outstanding. The photos speak for themselves but definitely exceeded our expectations! We were doing a partial bathroom renovation, replacing tile, painting, replacing the vanity, pretty straightforward. I had met with four other contractors at this point, and the estimates were VASTLY spread out, and many were vague or just a lump sum estimate without scope of work details. Then came Daniel and SafeSide. He listened to what we wanted, and even made suggestions that saved us money. His estimate was very well priced, and listed each element we spoke about in detail. When my mother in law decided it was time to renovate her old house, we were all nervous about the process and cost it was going to take to redo the kitchen and bathroom, floors, and paint . Our garage started leaking after the days-long rain in early January. A neighbor had recommended Safe Side Builders because she was happy with her experience with them installing a new roof on her house last year. We hired Safe Side Builders after we saw the great repair work they had done for our HOA on a balcony leak and subsequent damage. We hired them to convert a closet into a laundry room and new kitchen quartz counters/backsplash and sink. The experience from start to finish has been great. Daniel, the owner, is consistently responsive to any questions or concerns we had. He walked us through the scope of work and budget beforehand and, most importantly, stayed within budget. My husband and I were looking for a company to build a 2-story ADU (guest house) for us. After vetting a number of construction companies we chose Safe Side Builders Inc. because they were recommended to us by a close relative who had his guest house also built by them and was very happy with their workmanship and the overall outcome. Our ADU turned out to be about 1000 sq. feet. Daniel and his crew helped us with this project from start to finish, all the way from the architecture plan to the installation of the finished materials.
