When I followed up by phone, there was some confusion as they mentioned that person had not worked there in quite some time. Not a huge deal, but it does seem like the website may not be fully up to date, so I would recommend calling directly to schedule. My manicurist was Tommy and he was great. He completed the mani pedi in excellent time and delivered exactly what I asked for, including staying within the price range I expected. Pricing was comparable to other nail salons in the area. The interior was clean, nicely decorated, and well ventilated. The chairs were comfortable and there was a TV playing, which made the experience relaxing. I also had to request a bandaid myself afterward. I was also surprised that I left with my hands and cuticles feeling very dry and dehydrated rather than moisturized, especially after a salon service. The pedi technician apologized multiple times, which I appreciated, but I was surprised there was no adjustment to the bill or gesture offered after multiple cuts, bleeding, and discomfort during the service. I'm someone who isn't very good at visualizing or describing what she wants but definitely knows what she hates, which is terrible when you are getting your haircut. But if I bring in a bunch of screengrabs from Insta or Naturally Curly, I can run them by her and she'll be honest about whether she thinks a particular cut will look good on me--and, based on how much she knows about how much time (very little) I will spend styling it in the morning, whether it's worth doing. She's also amazing at mixing color, so you can be sure you'll get the exact same one every time. I've had some nail and skin treatments here as well, and I have nothing to complain about there, either. The staff are all friendly, and even if they are not the ones specifically doing your hair, they'll probably chat with you, give you product recommendations, and throw a compliment your way anyway. The only bad things about this place are a) it's maybe too popular, and that means noisy, so if you're someone who is prone to sensory overload, this is not your joint; and b) time is more of a relative concept than a hard and fast rule, so don't plan anything more complicated than a trim if you have somewhere to be that day. One of the things that drew me to them is that they were willing to use only products that contained plant ingredients. I'm unable to use products with synthetic chemicals because my body is very sensitive to them. The studio is now officially a team of two, lead by founder Marissa Duarte and her sister in law Vanessa. The services no longer include nails services. Their focus is entirely on skincare. Vanessa does offer waxing and lash lift/tinting services though! So, if you are looking for a place that is entirely dedicated to facials of various kinds with a holistic approach, this is it! And it's LOVELY. The studio is cozy and super well appointed. I was super relaxed the entire time. I went in for a facial that included gua sha with Vanessa. Vanessa is incredibly sweet and fun to talk to before and after your session. She keeps the session chat free so that you can indulge in all the relaxation possible and I loved it! Another nice aspect to their business is that it is a gratuity free zone, meaning that the pricing on their website is what you pay for and that's it. So you can think of it as the gratuity is included. I've never experienced that before and I must say it's a really nice way to enjoy a treatment. After my facial, Vanessa was gracious with her time and gave me some tips on how to use my gua sha stone at home. Her energy is wonderful and both she and Marissa seem to be super dedicated to continuing their education and developing all the skills they need to be the best!
