If I could give this building 0 stars I would. The elevators have been broke 2-3 times a week for the past months. I actually have an email stating it was fixed and another email stating it was down the day after. Here are some photo's of what "luxury" looks like (a packed full elevator that takes 12 minutes to go from the third floor to the first). Oh and not to mention the fact that our rooftop, business center, and pool have been closed for 4 months and probably won't open anytime soon considering they aren't actually working on them. I have not been able to use any of their amenities for half my lease and cannot get a reduction in rent. Ridiculous! Don't move here!

I've lived at the Renaissance since 2008 and have very few complaints. As mentioned in previous reviews there are a lot of positives like the 24 hr gym, a giant pool deck with one of the best views of Downtown LA, free resident and guest parking, a decent lounge, nice lobby and best of all friendly residents. The building, parking and park are very secure and it's just 1 block away from the Ralphs which is a pretty safe walk. There have been some nice improvements since Windsor took over such as Wireless in the lobby and 10th floor lounge, 2 very nice propane gas grills on the pool deck and the removal of the stupid speed bump on P2 near the elevators. I've found the Windsor maintenance, lobby folks and management to be cordial and responsive. Whenever something is broken, they fix it almost immediately. In the past year they have also been throwing events for the residents including a pool deck party with free food, drinks and games. Nothing beats the view on the park side in which you could hear the children playing in the park or the distant voices of students and visitors below which I find pretty relaxing. Occasionally there are events in the park, sometimes live music, outdoor theaters, fancy parties, Halloween and Easter events for kids as well. Sure it gets a little loud sometimes but the activities can also be energizing. People complain about the rent a lot. to be honest, it's actually a pretty good deal if you can afford living in DTLA. Plus it comes with a free underground and secured parking lot. I've never had a bug problem here. I haven't seen a roach, ant or anything other than the occasional bug flying in my open window. I've heard though some people had roach problems... not sure if it's them or possibly their unit location. As for the bad, there isn't much. My biggest complaint is that having only 2 elevators for the entire building sucks, and they would break down quite often. They finally did a major overhaul of the elevators though and haven't had a problem with it for several months. Another problem is that there is no stairwell leading from the parking lot into the lobby/building. You'd have to take a parking lot stairs or ramp to exit, then walk around the building into the lobby. Not sure why they designed it that way. For anyone deciding to live on a non-park facing side will probably experience a lot more noise and won't have that great of a view. If anyone has any questions about the Renaissance or DTLA South Park, feel free to message me.

This apartment complex is amazing. The staff is friendly and the location is great. Our unit looks brand new and our view of DTLA is breathtaking.

With meters and lots all over the area, what else would expect from the city life? It's safe here and frequently monitored by SouthPark officers as well. Cleaning staff of what I can tell might be only 2 people do a great job of handling the occasional mess. Apartments: Well maintained, appliances are pretty good, but all compact versions as the rooms themselves are pretty small. Decent amount of cabinet space, and high ceilings so if you can make use of vertical storage, you should be in good shape. Floors are concrete so while they are easy to clean, they are also very cold. Not recommended for families due to size, but couples can make due and singles will be fine as long as you don't have a lot of stuff. Amenities: - Parking is limited to 1 space per apartment which would be one of the few drawbacks but some of the neighboring streets have free parking with only 1 day where you have to move the car for street cleaning. Streets in the area are also very safe seeming.. Building has electric car charging spots also. - Gym Equipment is relatively new, good quality and kept clean. Nothing too fancy, similar to a nice hotel. Would be nice to have 1 or 2 more items but definitely adequate for a relatively small apartment complex. Also, never busy and 24 hours (although be careful after hours as I believe the person directly above can hear the noise from the gym). Two large TV's for watching games etc. - Coffee Commissary: This place is great. While it's not part of MLofts, it is in the same building and is a good place to do work. - Pet Run: This is a secure walkway where you can walk your dog. A great idea in concept but I generally walk around the block to the grass. - Laundry: 1 washer/ 1 dryer on every floor. Seems like not enough but I've only occasionally run into a situation where I had to borrow another floor's. Laundry rooms are relatively clean (as far as laundry rooms go anyway). - Common gathering areas: Firepit, common area tables and penthouse grills are all well maintained. These areas don't seem to get much use. While they are nice to have, I think it's probably because it's a bit awkward to have a gathering or to hang out in the middle of the common where you are in view of basically everyone else that lives in the complex (unless you're into that sort of thing). The penthouse grill area is more private which is nice, but again, I've never seen a gathering up there. - Wifi in lobby/gym: This seems a little spotty, but there's general cell service in the area. Staff: Julie the Property Manager and Stephanie the Assistant Community Manager are definitely a huge plus for this place. Both of them are very responsive to concerns and will go out of their way to take care of issues. They have responded to all of our maintenance requests within 24 hours. They even move all of the packages into the locked office before they leave for the weekend and put them back out in front of your mailbox to minimize the chance of theft. Residents: Generally young professionals who keep to themselves, very dog friendly.
