Now, we can deal with a teetering building that continues to have a huge number of poor, roach infested, unkept units, serviced by some of the most incompetent service people you can deal with and an unimaginably incompetent HOA that can barely manage a parking lot. Hallways smell like a concoction of unwashed feet, stale flatulence and rotten shrimp. The odors seep into your apartment. People, and management, let their dogs urinate in front of the entrance to the lobby so it smells like piss and attracts flies. I've stepped into the elevator on numerous occasions to puddles of dog urine, vomit and feces. The elevators are busted all the time. The other weekend when doing laundry 50% of the machines were busted on my floor and the two floors above mine. The toilets emit a foul, septic-like odor. The plumbing is terrible and people's sinks overflow with black water. Management will pay lip service to your issues but ultimately do nothing. Homeless and mentally ill people are everywhere in downtown LA, as is human excrement--twice have I encountered piles of human feces on the steps to the courtyard. The rooftop is the gem of the apartment complex, the maintenance staff are rapid responders, security is friendly, and this location is about as central as it gets for the greater LA region. Just know what you're getting into here--this place falsely advertises itself as "luxury" living when it is anything but. Definitely won't be renewing my lease here. read more

I've never left a yelp review in my life but this seemed too insane... I want to start off on a positive note saying the leasing team is awesome, they help with everything, and the cleaning team will try and help asap. The views are also good considering the price you're paying. However, this is the first apartment complex I've ever had so many issues with. Here's my list: CONS: - No one at front desk 50% of the time (doordash won't get to you, packages get returned, simple enough, I've had a lot of issues when it comes to getting things delivered. - you will never get an access key... (although there's a touch screen, and it's said you will receive some access key for guests to visit you. I waited a year and never received mine. - A lot of sketchy people. (Not trying to attack anyone here but... you will totally encounter Sus activity going on in the building, people who definitely don't live there walking around, homeless roaming around in the building, and homeless always at the entrance of the building, security won't rlly do much to help). - You probably won't get 50% of your deposit. (Of my $2000 safety deposit, I got $50 back... the walls were dirty with a bit of dust you could easily have the cleaners wipe off, instead you get charged like crazy for that, the floor had one wooden tile scratched up however they charged me for a whole new floor. My countertops also had a little bit of a food stained on it which could be removed with a scraping tool. Instead they charged me for a whole new countertop... I thought I was the only person with the deposit issue but spoke to other people who've lived there and they've had the same issues. Therefore, good-luck getting back that deposit - no laundry machines in unit. (This is obviously a con you go into a lease aware of, however, it sucks when the washing and drying machines you pay for, also don't work properly). - EXPECT A CRAZY UTILITY BILL. I was paying around $500 on LADWP ($250 per month) because the AC system was old and would struggle with maintaining the temperature. I've been living here for a couple of years, and I can confidently say that this is the best place I've lived so far. Denae, the property manager, has consistently been extremely helpful and approachable whenever I've needed assistance. The building also organizes a variety of events, including Taco Tuesday, Beer Week, and a Halloween competition, etc. These events add a sense of community and make living here even more enjoyable. read more

If I could give this building 0 stars I would. The elevators have been broke 2-3 times a week for the past months. I actually have an email stating it was fixed and another email stating it was down the day after. Here are some photo's of what "luxury" looks like (a packed full elevator that takes 12 minutes to go from the third floor to the first). Oh and not to mention the fact that our rooftop, business center, and pool have been closed for 4 months and probably won't open anytime soon considering they aren't actually working on them. I lived at the Renaissance Towers from 2015 - 2020. Sure, there were some things that should have been updated but for the most part it was an enjoyable experience. I met my boyfriend there and our apartment had amazing views that overlooked the Crypto Arena and the Intercontinental. We looked forward to summer nights partying by the rooftop pool which couldn't be beat. Also, the staff was pretty attentive. I moved to NYC and now I live at an Equity building which has been an absolute nightmare. However, it makes me appreciate my time spent at a well managed property. read more

Management is all over the place they don't know what is going on. They will lose your paperwork & send your paperwork all over the place or to there other property which is 3 blocks away ( SOUTH PARK WINDSOR). If you don't come up to the property and harass them they will literally ignore you. They only answer when they want a payment or think you are a new person leasing. I had to trick them when it came to communication and call them from a different phone number just to get an answer. They act like they are apart of fair housing but they really aren't and will discriminate and they will find ways to not lease to you. They will hold paper work until the very last minute & act like they communicate so effectively they also will lie just to get you to leave & claim they will communicate or email you & NEVER DO then when you are frustrated they get RUDE and act like they don't know what you are talking about. All in all I'm glad I didn't rent here because they don't treat people right & Jalen from SOUTH PARK WINDSOR pops in at this location occasionally and is very unprofessional will get snappy with you if you call him out on a lie not only did he lose my paper work and then acted like he didn't know me he shows his emotions all over his face and is just not great for company revenue in my opinion but hey what do I know I just had to harass this apartment for more than a month. Everyone is rude except for their security at the front desk both of the 2 girls I encountered were very nice & the leasing consultant was nice as well But everyone that I had to work with from there other building about 3 blocks down SOUTH PARK is full of themselves and super rude. After I decided not to go along with leasing the apartment they did give me my deposit back I will admit that but it was clear as day they are not fair housing and they made sure that I didn't lease in the building which is great because I would have forsure had more problems with them down the line. All in all if you want to live in a building with rude entitled management that do not answer emails or calls unless they are trying to get more money out of you & since no one is on site here at Renaissance you have to communicate with people like Jalen from South Park this is the place for you! read more

I've lived at the Renaissance since 2008 and have very few complaints. As mentioned in previous reviews there are a lot of positives like the 24 hr gym, a giant pool deck with one of the best views of Downtown LA, free resident and guest parking, a decent lounge, nice lobby and best of all friendly residents. The building, parking and park are very secure and it's just 1 block away from the Ralphs which is a pretty safe walk. There have been some nice improvements since Windsor took over such as Wireless in the lobby and 10th floor lounge, 2 very nice propane gas grills on the pool deck and the removal of the stupid speed bump on P2 near the elevators. I've found the Windsor maintenance, lobby folks and management to be cordial and responsive. Whenever something is broken, they fix it almost immediately. In the past year they have also been throwing events for the residents including a pool deck party with free food, drinks and games. Nothing beats the view on the park side in which you could hear the children playing in the park or the distant voices of students and visitors below which I find pretty relaxing. Occasionally there are events in the park, sometimes live music, outdoor theaters, fancy parties, Halloween and Easter events for kids as well. Sure it gets a little loud sometimes but the activities can also be energizing. People complain about the rent a lot. to be honest, it's actually a pretty good deal if you can afford living in DTLA. Plus it comes with a free underground and secured parking lot. I've never had a bug problem here. I haven't seen a roach, ant or anything other than the occasional bug flying in my open window. I've heard though some people had roach problems... not sure if it's them or possibly their unit location. As for the bad, there isn't much. My biggest complaint is that having only 2 elevators for the entire building sucks, and they would break down quite often. They finally did a major overhaul of the elevators though and haven't had a problem with it for several months. Another problem is that there is no stairwell leading from the parking lot into the lobby/building. You'd have to take a parking lot stairs or ramp to exit, then walk around the building into the lobby. Not sure why they designed it that way. For anyone deciding to live on a non-park facing side will probably experience a lot more noise and won't have that great of a view. Note: I moved out in April 2016 after living here for 3 years. I really have nothing good to say about renaissance tower. Let me first start with the elevator problem. There are 20 floors at renaissance tower including the 3 floors in the parking garage which are serviced by two elevators. Except the elevators are always broken. I lived on the 9th floor and I would wait for 15 minutes everyday for the elevator to arrive because one elevator was always out of service. This doesn't sound like a big problem but trust me everyone who lives there can't stand it. The management team is horrible. I complained to them about the elevators and the manager of the building told me that I was breaching my lease by being frustrated. One of the security guards at the front desk told me that the reason the elevator wasn't working was because the management team failed to get the elevator inspected with up to date permits. When I complained, the manager told me I was lying. Also, my air conditioner flooded my apartment and it took two days for management to get someone to fix it. The apartments themselves seem nice enough at first until you live there for a while and you realize that the apartments are so cheaply done that everything falls apart. There is supposed to be 24/7 security at the front desk but no one is ever there. This means your guests will be waiting outside for a while until someone buzzs them in. Getting your packages is also a nightmare since no one is ever there at the desk. Bottom line. This place might seem nice on the outside but it's not. Management is simply bottom class and the apartments are cheaply done. Finally, I started off paying 1,850 year one and they raised the rates to 2250 year three! Save yourself a massive headache and avoid living at Renaissance tower. Trust me. Since moving out I couldn't be happier. Update: I have officially been out of renaissance tower for over a year and thank god. To any future tenants do not live here. If the manager Wayne is still there I am sorry. He is bottom class. Worst manager. Horrible building. Don't rent from renaissance. read more

I have been a resident of Renaissance Tower for 4 1/2 years and I am very happy living here. The staff is friendly and professional. The property manager, Denae, and the two full-time maintainance men have been here my entire stay, which shows stability, liking their jobs, and working well together as a team. Denae has always been available to talk to and to work out problems. The maintainance crew responds to requests in a timely manner and are very efficient. I love the 10th floor outside deck, pool, and hot tub for very relaxing escapes, with a 360° view of the downtown skyline. Many apartments have great views, since the building overlooks a park and the Fashion Institute of Design & Management (FIDM). The rents are reasonable for DTLA, and the location could not be better. We are just one block away from a Ralph's grocery store, and there are many shops and restaurants in the immediate area. I enjoy walking the few blocks to LA Live, and even the one mile walk to the Music Center (Dorothy Chandlet Pavilion, Walt Disney Hall, Ahmanson and Mark Taper Theatres). I have a very safe under ground parking space in my building, but I still take a lot of public transportation, because to get to most places in the LA area you only need to take one bus or train. Renaissance Tower is ideal living for me, and I highly recommend it. read more

WARNING: DO NOT RENT FROM HERE! The people who work here are rude and don't care about their tenants (except for the two maintenance people who are kind and go out of their way to help). To give you some backstory, I am a parent of a former tenant who is also a guarantor on the lease. When my daughter brought in a roommate, things were going well until her roommate lost her job. We carried the rent for a few months but notified her roommate that we can no longer carry the burden of paying for her as well as her pets (roommate had 2 dogs plus a car so extra $ for pet fees and parking). The girls decided to go their separate ways until Denae (PROPERTY MANAGER) told the roommate that she does not legally have to move out and that the guarantor is responsible for paying the rent. To make matters worse, we were told by Denae that I would be responsible to continue paying for everything as the guarantor even when the lease expires if the roommate still refuses to move out! PARENTS, BEWARE OF SIGNING THE LEASE AS THE GUARANTOR BECAUSE RENAISSANCE TOWER WILL NOT WARN YOU OF THIS AND THE LANGUAGE USED IN THE CONTRACT IS NOT TRANSPARENT. Luckily, we convinced the roommate to sign a lease termination (I had to pay the 60 days of rent plus another month for penalty and I agreed to allow her to stay an additional 2 months for free). My daughter moved out a month prior to the roommate. The agreement was for the move out date to be May 27. The leasing office reached out to ask if everyone has vacated the apartment on May 31 and my daughter gave written permission by email to check the apartment because she and the roommate had parted ways and the roommate did not turn in her keys or respond to messages. But because of the Memorial Day holiday, they did not go into the apartment to check until the morning of June 1. Because of this, they have the audacity to charge additional rent through June 1! I think I have been more than generous in agreeing to pay all the penalties. I could have just moved my daughter out and abandoned the roommate. I understood that these are hard times and paid for all the expenses and penalties that Renaissance Tower had asked for. Charging additional rent through June 1 because they did not check the apartment when they are supposed to is dishonest and greedy, to say the least. While I realize this additional rent is not much compared to all that I have already paid for, at this point it's a matter of principle and I question the integrity of this company. read more

The only leasing agent that I ever seem to see in the two times I attempted to take a tour was Alexa and she was RUDE. The first time I figured maybe she was having a bad day which I don't take personal because it happens to the best of us, the 2nd time today shows that is just her character and bad persona. She gives off ugly, bad, uninterested/unwanted rude vibes that is SO disgusting and embarrassing on their behalf. after the 2nd time, i literally got up and left because it's already super bad impression and was over her attitude. She acts like she's the community manager lol. One thing she should know or learn I should say, is that first impressions are everything if you ever want someone to do business with you. Nor the FIRST NOR SECOND time did she ever greet me, until I greeted first saying hello first lol (ummm okay RUDE BEFORE EVEN OPENING HER MOUTH). No smile ever, not even a fake one lol. She just stared every time without saying anything literally waiting hard for you to tell her what you want or need from her. She clearly doesn't like to help people or hates her job. Bad impression, bad attitude, hence she's probably a bad leasing agent to contact if something ever goes wrong in your apartment which is why I decided to get out of there and will lease elsewhere. Good luck to whoever connects with her snobby rude self! Now I'll wait for a dumb response under my review from their management team lol. "Luxury" place?? I think not, maybe they need "luxury" professional training on agents either that or just nicer leasing people. read more

If I could give this apartment complex 0 stars, I would!!! DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!! I have moved around a lot, and have accordingly lived in many buildings and dealt with many different management companies, and this is by far the worst building I have ever lived in. Here's the breakdown: LOCATION: If you work Downtown or you go to school at USC, this place may actually be convenient for you. But don't be fooled. The apartment building is right down the street from the Staples Center, so every night when you come home after work (I come from West Hollywood) you will sit in tons of extra traffic every time there is a game or concert. People drive 2 miles an hour in every lane trying to decide which 10 dollar parking lot is the best 10 dollar parking lot to fit their Staples Center needs. While you may think traffic would be lighter on the weekends, that is not the case Downtown. It is awful coming and going on EVERY road/highway. Sometimes I have given up on plans because I couldn't get through traffic more than a few blocks out from the building!!! PRICE: TERRIBLE! The leasing agent tries to trick you by saying they will give you 2 months free rent "just to you." This is a lie! I found out after moving in they give that to everyone!!! I have a 2 bed, 1 bath that is astronomically expensive. The only reason I can afford to live here is my roommate pays two thirds of the rent as a bribe to get me to live with her. I am moving soon to a 2 bed, 2 bath in Beverly Hills area for almost 700 dollars less....I have been told they are raising the prices here, too, as they are "renovating" and making the halls nicer (when they should be pumping the cash into making the units nicer - the unrenovated ones are really cheap and tacky) MAINTENANCE: Meh. This is debatable. Half way through my lease the building went under new management and replaced the maintenance crew. It has gotten better. But that doesn't mean the building isn't still crumbling!!! My ceiling has leaked, the fire sprinklers have leaked, the fire alarm goes off randomly, the gym equipment breaks all the time.... AMENITIES: They have a gym and rooftop pool, but they literally kick you out at 10pm sharp! PARKING: Tandem. Typical for Downtown L.A.... GUESTS: This is a HUGE problem. For a guest to visit you, they have to get buzzed in by the front desk to park under the building in a guest spot. Then they have to go to floor 1, sign in and get a visitors pass for their car. Then they have to go back down to their car and put their pass in the car. THEN they have to go back to floor 1 and get the front desk guy to buzz them up to the higher floors (they don't work without a key fob). I could go on and on and on forever, but I think you get the point. DON"T LIVE HERE. Bad units, terrible management, and just all around inconvenient. 0/5 stars. read more

I signed a one year contract with Renaissance Towers and I hate to say it but I do regret signing such a long lease. I wish I signed a 6-month lease only because there's more cons than pros while living here. Pros: You're surrounded by so many businesses and it's right next to Hope Park & FIDM so it's wonderful for students. Ralph's is literally down the street and across the street, there's shell gas station and 7-eleven which is so convenient! There is one parking spot available for each resident for no extra charge which is a plus. The kitchen in my apartment is fairly new in which has been renovated within the last year. Cons: I've been living here for about a month on the 2nd level of the apartment complex now and there's no elevator access for the 2nd floor. The 2nd floor residents have to take the stairs up every single time which is truly a bummer because we're paying at such a high price and yet, we don't get to use the elevator unless we're going down to the parking structure. I only complain about that because it makes moving difficult and especially when you have a large item you want to carry into your apartment, you have to walk 4 flights of stairs. Another thing is that, there is a concrete pole structure next to the stairs and it smells like dog pee every time I walk past it. I also had my kitchen sink back up on me last week which sucked because I came back from school around 7pm and the offices were closed by 6pm so I couldn't do anything about it. It made my apartment stink so bad, you could probably smell it from the end of the hallway. There's already been 2 cockroach incidents in my apartment as well and let me tell you; around this apartment, lies a lot of big roaches. The rooftop pool is closed at 10pm but they give you until 12am. I believe it should be open 24/7 because there's security watch 24/7 as well. We pay for it, why not give us access to it whenever we want? That's my opinion and some other residents as well. read more

Hmm... My review may be a few years old, but I enjoyed living here (it may be because I had a balcony/deck bigger than the apartment itself for no extra charge). Sure there are problems, and I don't necessarily disagree with the other reviewer. I also lived a lot of other places, but this wasn't horrifically bad. Here's my breakdown: LOCATION: I went to USC, so this was pretty convenient for me. I usually took the DASH F route for $.25, and the stop is just 2 blocks away on Flower. If I drove, it was no problem avoiding traffic by going down Grand, Flower, or even Fig. Coming home, you can use the carpool lanes in the evenings. It was also walking distance to the Staples Center and The Pantry (and now, Nokia Center). PRICE: Not great.... but average for Downtown LA. But then again, I wasn't fooled into thinking I was getting some special deal. MAINTENANCE: It was ok when I lived there, but I guess that could have changed. AMENITIES: Besides the gym and pool, there's also a helicopter pad and an observation deck at the top floor, with an outstanding 360 degree view. It's pretty impressive. PARKING: This did suck.... tandem, which is difficult with a full sized truck. But this is Downtown... at least I got parking included. There's a fair amount of street parking within a block in each direction, so I never really had an issue with guests parking. GUESTS: I usually just had guests park on the street so they just have to check in at the counter and head up. Why anyone would want to make their guests jump through hoops to park in the garage is confuzzling. BACK TO LOCATION: The building shares the block with just FIDM and a park... no other buildings! So it feels less cramped, and there's green space here. People watching can be fun too when FIDM is in session. Right across Olympic is a gas station (convenient, but not the cheapest). Across from Grand is the Federal Reserve, and the opposite corner is a parking lot (with a club a few hundred yards down). It's as quiet as downtown can get at night, and you won't get another apartment building through your window. read more

I seriously don't see the reason why there are only three strars in the average..:( The place is fantastic! Living here is to plant yourself in the eden of DTLA. The park outside of the building is clean and has courtesy patrol monitoring the peace while you can enjoy your snack or meditation on the green grass. The onsite patrol is always helpful and welcoming. My favorite spot is the pool area where you can indulge on the amazing panoramic view to downtown. Even on the four floor we live, the view is amazing! I cannot close the blinds to miss out on that beauty outside. The rent is not cheap but for what you get, it is woth of paying. read more

Every day, there's something up with this building. Like for example, today, the gate in the garage would not open, so residents are stuck until it's fixed. Also, they cut off your water for "repair" all the time. For the price you pay for rent, it's seriously not worth it. read more

I just moved out (2 years and some months later) and decided to write an update. I also posted pics of my apt and views (#302). I enjoyed my time living here but like most people, had to move out because it just didn't make economic sense anymore. Like Erin M., I was priced out when my new lease was delivered to me. The first rent increase after one year was about $65, the new one was $150 more than I was paying which would mean about $1650 in rent for the 1 bedroom. While I don't think this is expensive for a 1 bedroom in South Park with gated and secured parking...it was just too much of a hike for me considering I was living by myself. I had to let it go and move on. The particular apt I lived in was decent, loved every bit of my walk-in closet but the bathroom, sink, and kitchen were all outdated (I knew this upon move-in and was told the lower floors hadn't been renovated yet). There were problems with the water, it would start running at odd hours and sometimes in the shower the hot water would shut off. I also bought a shower filter cause I hated that my skin smelled like chlorine all day. I never had a problem with the staff and they were always extremely responsive to me. However, I will note that I always used their online system to communicate cause work hours made it difficult for me to go in person. I also liked that you can pay rent online (the place I live in now doesn't have that so I have to relearn how to write a check). I didn't have noisy or unruly neighbors and didn't face the street so noise wasn't a problem in my apt. Guest parking was usually available but weekends got tough. I never saw pests or roaches and didn't have any leaks or stains. When the elevators took a while I just used the stairs (3rd floor isn't bad). Bottom line is that if you can afford to live here then I recommend it. What I loved most was the rooftop pool, the location, the 24hr gym, and the secured underground parking. The place is clean and has free wifi in the lobby and up in the pool area. When I was moving out, two other residents told me they had been priced out too...so I guess they're getting competitive with prices. They erased my review but i lived here for 3 years and issues are always same. Elevators always stop working, there is a terrible smell in the garage all the time. Then i started to have issues with leasing office.. I was living in a 2 bedroom apt and i just got one key, they didn't want to give me more because i was the only one in the lease with my dad which couldn't come to pick up the key. I got my deposit back but they deducted a LOT of money because of "cleaning" and changing carpet. If you go to leasing office to solve a problem, they will not help you because they have to respect "policies". Thank god i don't live there anymore, i seriously struggled a lot and never felt like i was home. Brandi was always kind and Edwin from concierge were always cool, people from maintenance too but thats it. read more

Updated review- I've lived here for about 8 months now and my lease will be up in 12. PROS: The location is great, amazing for FIDM students to walk to school. One free parking spot. 24 hour gym. Rooftop pool and deck open until 12 AM. Front desk people are super nice. Not usually loud and residents are really nice and friendly. Animals friendly. Safe and secure in the park. Leasing agents are nice, helpful, and quick to respond. Really good about emailing and notifying residents of any news or issues happening. CONS: No washer/dryer in the unit and each load is $1.60. We've had bug problems before that still grosses me out a little bit but we haven't had any in months thankfully. Elevators are slow. Our room is really oddly shaped, doors open into each other making it hard to walk through without them being closed. Not a ton of storage. Things break easily it seems but the maintenance works are really nice and finish tasks quickly. Our fan has been broken ever since we moved in and now our bathroom smells like mold and they told us that they couldn't fix it because it was involving several levels of repair. It seems that the better rooms are on the other side of the building, the ones that have decks facing the park. read more

I lived here for a few years and it was alright. The Pros: - Location, I was able to walk everywhere. The grocery store, 7th Street Metro Center Station, bars, restaurants, the gym, anywhere I wanted to go. - Amazing views! My apartment had a great view of the park and the DTLA skyline form my balcony. And the pool views were gorgeous. -GUEST Parking!! When I first moved in the parking was great for guest parking they guest would just have to go to the lobby and get a pass and could stay as long as they liked. It was changed up during my 2nd year living there to only a few hours and if you needed it for longer approval was needed. I hated that until I moved into another building down the street and realized that they don't even give guess parking, same with a lot of other buildings. At least here it is available. Cons: - It's kind of dirty/ dingy. The halls have gross carpet and it's so dark and weird. I always hated it - The hot tub is always broken and the pool is so damn small - I also hate how the guy who is paid to sit in the lobby is always gone! Just have two people working at a time. One to man the lobby and the other to do whatever else it is the guy who sits in the lobby is supposed to be doing. - The two elevators for the entire place... You better like stairs... Hope you're not on the 12th floor - the few times I needed something from the management team were all fails... - Rent was high and the apartments were okay... I wouldn't do it again... Lived here for 2 years and it was exhausting to keep up with all the broken things, things getting fixed, them leasing community areas so you can't use the amenities you pay for. There's always going to be problems here lol but a main problem for me was how the management dealt with it when their concierge man verbally harassed me and yelled at me for no apparent reason; I just wanted my packages, he had apparently had an incident earlier and somehow that excused his behavior to the management. I never received an apology, and not was I informed about how the case was dealt with until I inquired into it. Liz couldn't even look at me in the eye as she said that it was dismissed. I was shocked and upset that it has been dismissed without even an inquiry into my side after the initial complaint or speaking to the two other witnesses! Wayne seems like he just wants to play nice and slide everything under the table; probably just trying to get his raise and just hide things from his superiors. When I called the number I asked for to speak to someone higher than him within Windsor Communities, it was disconnected LOL. I always paid my rent and didn't mind the ridiculous raise for my place without renovations, and the constant annoyances with the broken elevator and letting people have exclusive use of an elevator for hours to move, leaving the rest of the building (22 floors lol) one elevator. But one thing's for sure, harassment and mishandling of cases like this is sure for a lawsuit. read more

We've been living here for about 2 months, and we love it. The location is absolutely awesome for so many reasons - accessibility to a plethora of amenities is a huge draw. The Ralph's is right across the street, and several gyms and drug stores are in walking distance, not to mention all the different restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood. We have a little balcony facing the park, and love the view of the downtown LA skyline. Nothing negative to say about management. The folks who work security are super friendly, especially Young, who is just awesome. Every place can be even better, like the rooftop pool could be bigger. But given everything else that the building and neighborhood have to offer, Renaissance Tower goes above and beyond our needs and expectations. read more

I moved to DTLA last year, and I have nothing but great things to say about Renaissance Tower! From the pre-leasing experience, move-in, and everyday living here, the location is amazing: right in the heart of Downtown, close to major transit lines, and a mere three blocks east of Staples Center. During move-in, Pure was extremely helpful and responsive to my questions and made the process smooth and stress-free; she even sent me photos of my actual unit beforehand so I can shop for furniture and decor that would match my new space! The amenities are well-maintained and clean, the Maintenance staff here is extremely responsive and provide top-notch service, and the Leasing staff genuinely care about their residents and go out of their way to ensure that you have a wonderful place to call home, including Brandi and Denae. It's true that one of the elevators often go offline, but that goes without saying that the building is almost twenty years old. Like an old car, it is not 100% reliable, but Leasing tries their best to keep residents informed of the situation and to resolve issues quickly. read more

I had the pleasure of living at the Renaissance Towers from October of 2013 - September 2014 and will honestly say that I have yet to experience a more welcoming and enjoyable residence. My near year spent there was an all around amazing experience. LIZ who works in the leasing office is a true professional and seemed to always go out of her way to help me out whenever I needed it. Liz never failed to display an amazing attitude and willingness to help out any and every tenant in any way possible. Every time I saw Liz she would greet every tenant with a smile, taking the time to listen whenever we had any questions. Liz would always make it a point to remind us of any awesome event the staff had planned for us - Pizza parties, movie nights on the pool deck, BBQ's w/ ribs and hamburgers (prepared by chef Dale), Ben'n Jerry Ice cream parties, Fondue night, Costume parties ect. My daughter won a $175.00 Kendal Fire at one of the awesome events not to mention I won a basket of Godiva chocolates. A+ SONA who also works in the leasing office was always incredibly helpful and nice. I worked out a lot in the amazing gym they have and got to see Sona first hand deal with tenants while giving them a VIP tour of the property. I was always blown away how incredibly kind and awesome her attitude was towards every tenant and possible tenant she encountered. Sona always gave you the feeling that we we're the top priority and that her happiness came from our happiness in our time living there. A+ DALE the Maintenance Supervisor heads all maintenance and seemed to be always either fixing, directing or delegating work to further improve the property for the tenants. I will never forget Dale, Leonard, Jonathan and Abertos all coming together to fish my car/apt keys out of the elevator shaft that I had accidently dropped the night before, saving me hundreds of dollars and time. I can honestly say that I had never once witnessed Dale sitting down in all my 11 months as a tenant. A+ JONATHAN Supervisor of Concierge and JULIO Concierge work the front desk and are two of the most helpful and well trained courtesy personal I have ever encountered. Both are completely competent in what they do and incredibly friendly. You can always count on a high level of order and protection with them around. A+ LEONARD maintenance Technician is another of the properties awesome maintenance professionals who is always willing to come and fix any minor mishap at a drop of a dime. . . Light fixtures, toilet you name it he can fix it. Leonard is very skilled and intelligent at what he does - a true professional in every sense of the word. A+ ALBERTOS Porter is responsible for giving the property that royal show room look not to mention a man with integrity and kindness. I woke up one Saturday morning to Albertos knocking at my door, as soon as I answered it he handed me my wallet that I had accidently left on the pool deck from the night before. All my money and credit cards could have been lost and stolen but because of Albertos honesty and high level of integrity my wallet was returned. Thank you again Albertos! A+ In closing, If you want to live on a property that offers great living conditions, sound proof walls, breath taking views, safe environment and most of all an amazing, friendly and competent staff please apply at the Renaissance Tower apt. I just recently moved in a couple of months ago, everything is great. I love my apartment and my neighbors are great. I love the location, it is very convenient for me. The people in the front are the best, so sweet! So are the leasing agents, very caring people! However, i was very disappointed to find out that now my guest have to pay 10 dollars for parking after 6 PM when they come visit... i mean, this is nonsense, i am paying for rent & the guest parking should be included. We are coming to the end of a two-month stay at the Renaissance Towers and have had an awesome experience. For my family, the location is unbeatable-- close enough for my husband to walk to work, easy access to the 10 freeway, walking distance to grocery stores and restaurants, and right inside beautiful Grand Hope Park for my two young daughters. We've enjoy all of the amenities, from rooftop bbqs with amazing downtown views to free coffee in the lobby. The staff has been friendly and Pure and Brandi in the leasing office made our move-in easy with detailed communications. The design of our unit is fairly conservative, especially by hip downtown standards, but it's functional and efficient. read more

Overall a good apartment building. The water pressure on the third floor is terrible. Great views, however, and great location. Giving a 2 star because of management. We (along with many other residents) had their bikes stolen and repeatedly asked for any help in solving this case. These thefts occurred in the parking garage on level P3, and spanned over a period of months. Our bikes were completely stolen, others were only partially stolen. read more
