Pros: The hotel is conveniently located, with a walking distance to the ferry terminal and the library. The room is spacious. There is a club room during weekdays and Sunday night though the food and drink choices are basic. Hotel staffs are helpful Cons: It is a little bit noisy for rooms facing the freeway The line to check in is long The hotel is under-staffed No microwave in guest rooms and the club house The elevators are a little bit slow

You can never go wrong with Marriott. But, this location in Seattle was great and nice! They had two restaurants on different floors. Free cocktails at 5pm. I will say it was unfortunate to not have a microwave in the bedrooms. There was a communal one on the 15th floor but it was disgusting and not cleaned. That was the only con.

YOU HAVE A CHECK IN/Elevator timing PROBLEM! Cannot check in until 4 and then have to wait 20+ minutes for an elevator is ridiculous. I heard lots of people complaining as apparently this is a known issue here. Rooms are fine, it's a hotel. Parking is so sketchy and expensive! I paid over 500 a night and had to pay to park. Parking structure maxes at 6'2'' which isn't much. The area is lovely! So many people out and a great place to walk and stay with my dog. Will I be back, probably not but only because I was in town specifically for a concert. Room service is kinda lame and you get everything in bags with wooden utensils and paper straws! What happened to real room service on a cart with dishes and silverware especially in a super fancy experience hotel!?!?! Also, do not order Instacart/doordash as they won't let the delivery up to your room, you have to meet them in the lobby.

My husband booked this hotel because of the convenience of it being a 15 minute Uber drive from Port (to catch our cruise on Saturday). He also called prior to coming due to wanting to see if we can get our room earlier. We were told no, but the staff can hold our bags until rooms are ready at 3pm. We had the pleasure of having the representative Michael who said there's a room available only with double beds and not our original king bed. We took the room and he was kind enough to include free breakfast in the morning since they couldn't have our room ready earlier. He was beyond professional and gave us complementary waters and let us know there's free cocktails around 5pm. All in all the room was great and everything worked in the room worked fine, beds were comfortable and no noise complaints. We had a great time and got plenty of rest before our cruise.

A hose with a peeling collar, not even at a Motel 6

I paid a lot of money and stayed at the Renaissance Hotel, but I was really shocked by the condition of the shower hose. It was so cheap and worn that I couldn't even find it at Motel 6. I was so disgusted by the poor service I received after paying so much. I traveled from LA to Seattle, and the hotel's condition was so bad. My room was 1212. I hope they check it out, replace it, and do their best for their guests. Plus, there's an unnecessary door lock latch on the front door, making it feel like a really cheap hotel. I will never use the Renaissance Hotel again.

first time to stay here on my second trip to Seattle! My room hasn't been ready all day, but Ricky ended up saving the day once we were able to check in. He was super helpful in letting us know if a room was available for us during an already hectic Mother's Day weekend He kept his composure well and also gave us as many waters as we needed. I also like that they let us hang out upstairs to charge our phones while waiting for the time to pass by. The rooms were very spacious and quiet for the most part I would probably stay here on the next visit

Attended a conference in Seattle, WA. Great stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating as soon as we walked in and for the entirety of our stay. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were clean as well. Hotel is within walking distance to some really cool landmarks of downtown Seattle as well as short ride sharing trips to others like the stadiums, museums and ballparks. We had a a great visit and the only negative that I had was that the body wash was empty when I arrived which they replaced right away. Would definitely recommend this hotel to future visitors of Seattle!

Hotel Review The biggest advantage of this hotel is its prime location--perfectly walkable to many of Seattle's top attractions. The modern lobby creates a welcoming first impression, and the lobby bar offers a convenient spot to grab a drink. I was upgraded to a corner suite, which was clean and very spacious, though the decor felt a bit outdated. While the size of the suite was a definite plus, staying on the lower floors (I was on the 6th) came with a drawback: significant highway noise that could be disruptive for light sleepers. Overall, this hotel offers a great location and comfortable accommodations, but if you're sensitive to noise, consider requesting a room on a higher floor.

Top pick of ours for stays in Seattle!! Renaissance Seattle (Marriott Property) had unique decor of woodlands throughout the property. Check-in was very easy and concierge overlooked the port and parts of the city. Our corner suite was very nice as we could see the port and parts of the city. They still provide all the Aveda amenities! A sweet surprise of chocolate covered cherries when we entered our room was a nice touch too. Breakfast was very nicely done. They offered everything imaginable including fresh smoked salmon that was delicious. Location wise it was front and center to everything; Chinatown, Pike Place Market and many museums!

    Very pretty book-themed elevator area

The staff definitely leave something to be desired. I found them a mixture of condescending and rude. We requested early check in and where informed our room was not ready. Than watched them check in couple after couple. 2.5 hours later we got our early check in. A whole 15 minutes early. This was after it supposedly took them 45 minutes to clean the room. Now on to the room. The room was modestly sized with furniture shoved into every available space. The floors are plastic and cold. TV lost connection no less than 5 times forcing us to miss a few minutes of the show to reboot it. The best part was the bed. Very comfy bed. The comforters they provide are not designed for tall people though. The bathroom was not great. The shower is small with a temp control that sticks causing jumps in water temp. From luke warm to scalding quickly. For men beware the toilet. The water level is so high if you have to sit down to potty you will need to squat or parts might find themselves taking a swim in murky waters if you know what i mean. I would have normally told the staff all of this but the icy frosting on this stay was check out where the staff gave no greeting, didn't ask how the stay was or even express any positive sentiment towards us. In a city full of places to stay don't be fooled by there advertised low price. You end up with a low price experience for a high price in your check book.

It was about 3:15 pm. He had to check with housekeeping to see if the room was ready. No joke.....almost 45 minutes went by and housekeeping had not replied. He wasn't phased. He had the personality to a wet sock. The manager was running in and out behind the counter. Nothing was happening or being communicated to me. Finally, after a very long wait we were given keys to our room. I asked about any type of breakfast or happy hour. They don't offer any of that. The room has no little refrigerator other than a cooler drawer filled with outrageously priced snacks and alcohol. Good thing we didn't have medications that needed refrigeration. There's no microwave. There's no condiments for coffee or tea. There's a Nespresso maker for those people who enjoy Nespresso. I'm not one who particularly enjoys Nespresso. There were no pods anywhere. I asked for some at the front desk and I was told that it's hidden in the room somewhere. It's Christmas not Easter and I'm not going to play hide and seek for the crappy coffee. The furnishings were modern and cold. The lack of the little niceties that are standard everywhere else aren't here. The least they could have done was provide quality customer service and not by someone who seems like they would be better off employed in a funeral home. Pros, view and location Cons, pretty much everything else.

It is a very convenient location, just minutes away from the Seattle Farmer's Market and near to Chinatown. While we had access to early check in with our credit card, our room type (suite) was not ready yet and actually ended up not being ready until around 4:00 P.M. (regular check in time) so we did have to drop off our luggage and decided to walk around. When we came back and our room was ready, my husband did call down and mentioned it was our anniversary since they had confirmed in previously but we didn't see anything in the room, and they were very kind to bring up a little treat for us including some delicious chocolate covered strawberries. The room itself was spacious and clean with a great view of the city (we had a corner view). The bath tub had a fun feature (water to fill the tub came from a ceiling faucet rather than attached to the tub. The towels were large and fluffy and overall ambience was relaxing with a couch in the room. Check out was smooth and they had our bill ready and everything was easy/correct so we did not have to worry. We also did have late check out, which was pleasant as we could have a leisurely morning. We did try the restaurant (All Water) both for dinner and brunch the next day. Service was very slow unfortunately for the restaurant (it took 1.5 hours while the restaurant wasn't busy, and they did forget our side of grilled broccolini until after we finished our meals/reminded them). We tried the tuna hamachi crudo, clams and mussels, roasted hen of the woods and grilled broccolini. The tuna hamachi crudo was good, though I was hoping for more brightness in the flavor. I enjoyed the clams and mussels as well as the roasted hen of the woods overall, but felt the grilled broccolini was a little too dry (seemed grilled without any oil or seasoning). We did also try a few seasonal mocktails which were delicious and the highlight of the meal. Brunch the next day was take out and we went with a steak and eggs and a caesar salad. Both were solid, but note that the caesar salad came with actual little sardines, so for those picky eaters, this may be a bit much.

The main issues I had were as follows: - A lot of the "extra perks" disappeared. When I checked in last time, I was greeted warmly and gifted a glass of champagne. I don't expect that exact thing every time, but when staying at a premium hotel like this, little things really make the experience a lot more enjoyable. It felt starkly different this time in terms of the service and generosity -- much more generic. - My room was far noisier than my previous visit. I'm not sure what changed, but I could hear noises from other units and from the street much more loudly this time. - On noise, the AC unit in my room this time was much noisier as well. Generally speaking, I still think this is a great hotel, but I had a disappointing experience this time vs my prior stay. I will give it another shot next time, but with caution.

The provided shampoo, conditioner, soap, and lotion worked well and had a nice light citrusy scent. There was a Keurig machine in the room; not my jam but helpful in a pinch. We always got stocked with dark roast coffee pods, which is my preference, whoo. Also an empty mini fridge which we were able to use for beverages and leftovers. The 7th floor has a nice little seating area outside the bar where I was able to get some quiet work done one weekday, and the outdoor terrace offers a mountain view on clear days. The fitness center is small: just two treadmills, one recumbent bike, an elliptical, a peloton, and many dumbbells, but I had no problem getting a treadmill run in each morning before 9 am. Water bottle fillers on floors 1 and 4 were super convenient, too. The valet parking is very convenient but pricy. You might want to check Spot Hero or similar to see if you can get a better deal on parking nearby. All told I was impressed by this hotel and I think we will stay here next time we return to Seattle.

Our last two nights of our journey were spent in Seattle at the Shafer Baillie mansion. I would highly recommend staying here. The location was great for getting to downtown and all around. It was built in 1914 and has been well cared for over the years. When we came back from one evening out, we all gathered in the Library and set up some charcuterie and wine to share from our travels. It was so cozy sitting all together and chatting about our adventures. The rooms are historic with modern conveniences. Our room was the Queen Ann Hill. We slept soundly in our comfortable 4 poster bed. There was a helpful step stool for me to climb up as I am vertically challenged. It has original pushbotton light switches. The temperature controls worked great, the bed was very comfortable and had an adequate number of pillows, the bathroom was well-appointed, and everything was very clean. The bath towels were large, soft, and plush. The frosted door to the water closet was a nice touch for the sake of privacy if you were sharing the space with someone. The shower was not huge but it was more than adequately spacious for me. There were 2 robes hung in the bathroom (though I didn't use them). The small table and chairs near the window were convenient and comfortable to work from. The view from my room was very nice, especially during clear days when you can see the water and the mountains in the distance. The room was always well maintained after the typical morning cleaning as well as during turn down service. I appreciated the staff placing slippers by the bed and how they always nicely arranged my toiletries in the bathroom, replaced used towels with fresh ones, and even placed things on the table in the bedroom (like my charger, earbud case, eyeglass case, and so on) neatly for when I returned. The bar area at the back of the restaurant was a nice little area and had a table large enough for our group of around 8-10 to comfortably sit at while enjoying a nightcap. My breakfast the day I checked out was also high quality and my server Nathan was pleasant, timely, and honest about prep time of some items I wanted to order but was constricted due to a time crunch. In general, every staff member I encountered was pleasant, eager to help, and always smiled and made eye contact when speaking with me.
