After monitoring the order on the My Verizon app, I discovered I was only getting $8.28 in trade-in credit--toward a $1,000 phone! On top of that, I was told I'd receive a free Samsung watch, but instead it was quietly added to my bill at an extra $10/month. My bill didn't just go up "a few dollars," it shot up $50/month with the phone and watch payments. None of this was properly disclosed when I signed. This place runs like a used car lot--misleading, and dishonest. Verizon itself clearly backs these shady practices. Avoid this location at all costs unless you want to be scammed.

The install was a breeze and the techs were top notch going over every detail of my setup. When I didn't want to use their equipment he said that's ok but he also left me the router they supply, it was labeled where I would need to make connections and then he wrote his name and number on the box in case I needed to switch it quickly. When my router went out late one night, instead of scheduling an appointment and waiting they connected me up in a few minutes. When a part of my system failed (POE) and I talked with tech support they decided they needed to dispatch a tech. It took longer than I had excepted and hoped so when I called back to get an ETA the Support Manager located the part I was waiting on and personally drove it to my home. This is not something someone else told him, he took action because he cared about his customers. The company may not have the polish of a big company like Optimum but they shine like no other because off the nice, caring and hard working people who work at Planet Network.

The setup was easy and we got the equipment we needed with no problems. (We decided to rent the modem router, not purchase our own. The cost is very reasonable.) We have had only a handful of outages in those years, and every one of them were very brief. Their pricing is reasonable compared to other companies. I just spoke with their Billing department to make a change to our account. I got a real human being very quickly. She verified my account and made the change while we were talking, and was very professional and helpful.

My spouse knows the internet will come back eventually (and it's still an issue so they get no leeway from me and we're paying almost $400 a month (it includes HBO ($17) and HDTV. TRY ANY OTHER SERVICE BEFORE THIS COMPANY. IT'S BAD in every way. Support, when not local, most of the time has no clue what they're even talking about. We have 3 tvs and 2 are within 20' or less of the modem/router on 2nd floor. 2nd floor tvs do the same thing - they drop the internet (and it may be throttling by astound, I don't know). One tv got moved from one room on the 1st floor into a fairly open are in a room right across from the room it was in for 7 years. They changed how the screen (tv) is viewed and it cuts off part of the screen with the FF, rewind, pause. It's annoying and interferes when I'm trying to read something. It does a weird auto rewind too many times and I'm pressing the right button. When I go back into the show, I often have to ff it to where I think I left off. rcn, do this ten times in 30 minutes and tell me how you feel. I'm ready to throw something at rcn/astound (not our tv). The signal on the internet drops too much on all tvs. I had a recorded show on and it kept coming up with three circles (so the internet usually drops when that happens and in ten minutes, I've had to disconnect the damn internet and reconnect it again 4 x). I changed rooms and tvs. rcn/astound/jackie don't respond to this - words are bogus as is the name. I went from being frustrated a lot to being frustrated and angry with the company every time I try to watch tv. I'm one person out of two and my vote for about 8 years has been to ditch the company. That's the only reason it's still here.

The service used to be top notch as far as coverage but now they've dropped the ball. I've had way too many issues with them ever since moving to the Lehigh Valley. My friends have also had the same issues in other cities and we're all just tired of the high prices and degrading service. I had enough and switched to a new carrier yesterday and I can tell you the bloatware they dump in the phones is a LOT.... I would recommend you all to shop around and compare plans, not just from the main carriers but also check out new carriers like Mintmobile. In Europe my friends all laugh at us because they're paying $20-$30 for service while we all get gouged in the US from these big carriers.
