The technicians know there stuff and once they had the parts it was fixed in 10 minutes . I'm happy. THIEVES!!! After a quote to repair dishwasher, a deposit of $200 was made. The part didn't work. I am owed $120 refund less tge service fee. Since July Paul has promised to mail by refund. 2 months later, nothing. DISGUSTING THIEVES!! read more

They are a SCAM company. They came to fix my HVAC fan and took $350 down payment, cashed it right away and never showed up to fix it. We are in the heat of summer down $350 and no a service. Have to call other company and get the unit fixed and payed twice. Shameful skill less service men. They don't know a thing. NEVER HIRE THEM. No wonder they have a 1 star and so many negative reviews. Wish I have seen the reviews before calling them. The phone numbers are (703) 424-0579 and (703) 282-6912. Don't hire them. Scam company. They are not permanently closed as it says and run a scam. read more

I called this company and was connected to an automated AI system, where I left my phone number. When they called me back, they mentioned Sears. I want to warn others that they appear to be working with Sears. In my opinion, this company is misleading and may be taking advantage of businesses through IRS tax-related services. I recommend doing thorough research before providing any personal or business information. read more

Repair of ice maker. He "repairman" came and figured out what part needed fixing and took the deposit. He asked to use my restroom and I heard him talking on the phone. He came out and said what part was needed and took the deposit. He came back a week later, supposedly with the part buy "realized" it was the wrong part. Asked to use the restroom again and again was on the phone. Came out and said the part was on backorder and he would return to install when it came in. That was over a month ago. No part and no call from them to set a new date to install. A total scam. I will see about taking them to small claims court. read more

I had a terrible experience with Reliable Appliance Repair (301-761-1703)and I would not recommend them to anyone. Back in September, I called them to fix my oven and paid $925 upfront for the full service. It has now been SIX MONTHS and the job is still not finished. They came once and only did half of the work. Then they came back two months later, and somehow managed to order the WRONG part. Since December, I have been waiting for them to come back and complete the repair. Every single time I call, there is a new excuse. No accountability, no urgency, and absolutely no respect for my time. On top of that, their customer service is awful. The staff is rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. The last time I called, I asked to cancel the service and get my money back since I already paid in full for a job they never completed. I was told I could cancel, but they would NOT refund me. That is unacceptable. I even asked for a clear date to finish the repair, and they refused to provide one. This has been extremely frustrating and stressful. Paying $925 for incomplete service and being treated this way is beyond disappointing. Save yourself the headache and go with a company that actually values its customers. read more

I wish I'd seen earlier reviews! When he didn't return as promised, I called both numbers on the invoice Sam gave me - no answer. Then I searched the phone numbers, and realized, based on others' experiences, he probably wouldn't. I was able to stop payment on the check I gave him. It's worth noting that the company I booked RR through was USA Appliance Repair and I think they are part of the scam. When I called, the fellow answering the call sounded muffled and slurred both times, and said Sam would return in 2 days. I said no thank you. The company from whom I bought my refrigerator fixed it. I had hoped to have it done sooner because my usual tech is very busy - but that's because he's honest and good! Live and learn. Filed a police report. read more

100% SCAM. Stole $200 (check only -- cashed immediately, they don't take credit cards) from me for deposit on dishwasher repair. "Technician" had no idea what he was doing. Terrible. The name is the very height of misleading and false advertising. We needed a repair for a kitchen appliance and they said it would be two weeks before they could get the part. That's fine. We waited two weeks and called only to be told to call back later. It has now been about three months and nothing. THEN the tech shows up at 9:30 AT NIGHT. We obviously did not answer the door and when we called the phone number, we were treated very rudely even going as far as to being yelled at for being unreasonable. Nope. Canceling that order. I'd rather deal with a workaround to a broken appliance than to ever hire these people again. read more

This company scammed my elderly parents out of over $550 for a very basic ice maker repair on a Kenmore unit. Not only did they insist on the full payment up front, but they kept making excuses and having delays to come back and do the work. And the worst part? The ice maker still doesn't work properly!! You have been warned: do NOT use this company if you care about cost and competence! And to add insult to injury, they were very rude to my parents and left the refrigerator door with several deep scrapes that were not there before. read more

If I could give minus 5, I would do so. They are scam artists. The service people are incompetent, and the manager/dispatcher named Paul is racist, sexist, and a misogynist. On the phone, he refused to talk to me and asked if there was a man to speak to; he was rude, offensive, and disrespectful. His serviceman, Jay, was rude, and insulting. He made us, as senior citizens, feel unsafe, and he used obscene language in front of my young grandchild. I would stay as far away from these people as possible. When he realized that the part that he installed was not right, and that he misdiagnosed the issue, he removed the new part, put back in the old one, and told us to buy a new washer. This is after charging us $662.34, when we could have bought a new washer for less than $900.00. $250.00 was to remove the washer/dryer from the closet space in which they were housed. We had to remove it ourselves once again. I disputed the charges. I'm sorry that I did not see this notice online: "TO ALL OUR CUSTOMER: ANOTHER COMPANY IS USING OUR NAME ALL APPLIANCE REPAIR. THEY ARE A SCAM. THEIR REAL NAME IS RELIABLE REPAIRS AND ITS WRITING ON THEIR RECEIPT. OUR COMPANY INVOICES DBA IS APPLIANCE REPAIR SERVICES. PLEASE BE AWARE." read more

They originally quoted us for $389 to fix a microwave for a broken part that costs between $75 to $175. The microwave costs $1000. We lost the original receipt. They insisted that they couldn't find it on their end. They then changed the contract and marked up the price to $789. We called them out on this, and said if we just give them our credit card number they will clear everything up and review their books the next day. We never gave them our credit card number and we never heard back from them and were only charged the $200 deposit. Read from this what you will, but if they were doing nothing wrong why did we never get a call back for the rest of the money? read more

BEWARE OF DISHONEST SCAMMERS IN THIS COMPANY!!! Originally quoted for a microwave repair: $389. Paid $200 deposit. After service, was asked to pay additional $200 + $389 for grand total of $789 to fix a microwave! Complained that this was $400 over original estimate. They could not produce a copy of the original quote because "the office was closed." The repair man called supervisor named "Lucky" and they only spoke in another language that we could not understand. Then, asked us to provide our credit card information while they "looked into it." I feel bad for the elderly or unsuspecting people they have scammed and continue to scam. Avoid at all costs. Edit to add: I found the original copy of the quote for $389 with proof of $200 deposit. So, they tried to recharge us the $200 deposit and add an additional $389 charge. This would have cost $789 total. Total scam. Photo of original receipt below too. read more

SCAM DO NOT ENGAGE. Just like everyone here they call and quote you and then string you along with promises of parts that are "on the way" but it's a lie. Unfortunately they were left as a recommendation from someone who used to work in the position I have now. Fortunately they're incompetent and didn't realize it's a law firm. We WILL be getting our money back guaranteed. :) I'll keep this listing updated as it progresses. Update 10/20: I called again as they instructed and they claimed again that the part is on back order. I asked them to tell me exactly what part that is and he gave me a generic answer "pump and hose" and then couldn't tell me anything about where he ordered it or provide shipping information. Will be calling back later to check if they're "back in the office" as they claimed they were not and could not help me. Will also continue to call u til service is rendered or payment is given back. read more

Reliable Repair is an embarrassment to the community. In attempting to repair an ice maker for a elderly, handicapped neighbor and his aid, they charged $600 up front but did not complete the repair. (see photo) Despite repeated request to finish the job, Reliable Repair did nothing but engage in postponement and evasion. According to other reviews, this is not uncommon. This company and its staff are dishonest not honorable men. Do not use them under any circumstances and let your communities know about the company. read more

The company was fine in doing the repair, although the manager was rude to my husband when he was trying to obtain a time of arrival. Had a leak in our LG washer. Got connected with this outfit through online search. Lucky showed up late the next day and in ca 10 minutes diagnosed problem as need for new pump and hose, quoted price $389. Gave him a check for $200 as down payment. Said he would be back between 4 and 8 in two days. He finally showed up at 9 that night. I complained about the wait he put us through without his bothering to call and give us an updated ETA. He took offense at that and turned on his heel and left. As he went to his pickup I said I would stop payment on the check. He said do whatever you want and was off. Too late! he already cashed our check. Our bank believes he used a check cashing service as there is no signature or any other identifying info on the back of the check. I called his cell 703-424-0579 on a phone we had not used with him previously and he called back. (He did not answer when we used the phone we had contacted him with before.) Said his name was Paul and that he knew Lucky and that I had yelled at Lucky second time he came over. The day after Lucky came back and quickly departed we had another service come in and fixed the problem which was just a hose. Over $200 less than Lucky quoted. I related this to Paul as well asking for our money back. Frankly l don't expect that we will get any satisfaction. This guy or guys are pretty slick about hiding their identities. No names, no address. For what its worth we reported this to better BBB. BUYER BEWARE!! read more

Technician "Lucky" arrived on time for dryer repair call. Told me that I need a heating element and took $200 deposit. I took the dryer down myself and disconnected from the exhaust duct and was able to dry multiple loads. The errors D95 and D90 were airflow errors. This place is now telling me to call back and hanging up on me when I call to speak with a manager. Same person answers at all numbers and it is the same technician that was trying to replace part that wasn't bad. Very unprofessional and dishonest. read more

Please say yourself unnecessary stress and avoid this company at ALL cost. My mother called this company after the dryer malfunctioned. The company removed the electrical board from my dryer without my permission, promise to fix the dryer today, and called to say they have not received the replacement part. I called to inform them that their services wouldn't be required, to cancel the order, and return my electrical part because as the home owner, I did authorize the removal and I have a home warranty that covers appliances with BGE. They refuse to comply unless I pay them $140. They want $70 for the initial visit (ok), but another $70 to return the electrical board that was removed without authorization. Needless to say, I will be contacting the BBB and filing a police report to have my property returned. By the way, I offered to pick-up my property and was told they don't work that way. Total scammers. After four visits over the course of 5 weeks the dishwasher still wasn't fixed. Pieces literally were falling off as we ran dishwashes. We finally gave up and called someone else, who showed us the parts they kept "ordering" from whirlpool were "after-market" - meaning not whirlpool at all. Also they are incredibly rude, as so many others have said. On visit #2 they installed the washer crooked and tried to claim it was straight and my countertops were crooked! At the risk of being too on the nose, they should call themselves "Unreliable Repairs."Absolutely, 100%, DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. TL;DR: horrible customer care. In May, they came and "replaced" a hose assembly for my refrigerator's water filter. By July, conveniently outside the warranty, it started having the same problems. I described the issue over the phone as the same issue, and they insisted on charging $59 for a service call just to come out without the part, diagnose it as the same issue, then schedule a follow up call. We set a two-hour window for them to arrive. After the window had passed, I called to ask when the technician would come, and the dispatch informed me that the part hadn't arrived from UPS, so no one would come. As soon as I pointed out that they should have called to let me know that BEFORE I sat home and waited for them to call, they hustled me off the phone and said that they would contact UPS to find out when the part would come. An hour later, I still hadn't gotten a call, so I called back. No one picked up so I left a message. The next day, I called two hours after opening to ask what happened to the part. I think they recognized my number because they didn't pick up, but they picked up when I called from a different number. I voiced my frustration, and even though this was obviously their fault and they should have apologized, the dispatcher cut me off, raised his voice, and said he didn't have time to deal with me. I told him I wanted a refund of my money, but he said he had already ordered the part and wanted to do a service call tomorrow. I told him that was unacceptable, and he said he didn't want to deal with me and would call me later. They are incompetent and outrageously rude, if you are able to get them to show up or get on the phone. Run like the wind. read more

I would not even select one star for Reliable Repairs except I had to select something. I wish I had looked at Yelp before I set up an appointment. They charged me service fee plus extra to cover part so they could place the order and then when I looked at my credit card online found that they charged my card $250.00 instead of $150.00, I was told it was an entry error and I was credited $100.00 on credit card. I felt really uncomfortable after that happened and decided to cancel the appointment for the repair which by the way was 3 days away for a freezer that was not cooling properly. When I told Paul that I wanted to cancel the appointment and get credited for the remainder of the money still owed me minus the service fee, I kept being put off for a week until I decided I had enough and went to my credit card and disputed the charge and stated Reliable Repairs still owed me $80.05. I did not dispute the service fee as the repairman did arrive an hour late and after five minutes provided the reason that the freezer was not defrosting properly. Long story short they never refunded the $80.05 and therefore I disputed the charge on the credit card. I will only use well known repair companies or at least those that I find people highly recommend. I will also do the searching on companies before I commit to hiring them. Live and learn! read more
