Alex sent our technician, Rojo, who helped install a new 40-gallon gas water heater in our indoor utility closet, and he was incredibly diligent, professional, and efficient from start to finish. Installing a tank in an inside closet can be tricky, but Rojo handled the entire job seamlessly in just 2 hours. He replaced everything with high-quality components, including: * New hot and cold water flex lines * A brand new water shut-off valve * A new gas flex line and sediment trap * Fully reworked earthquake straps (to meet California safety codes) * Properly updated T&P line and venting He also took care of the removal and disposal of our heavy 18 yr old tank, leaving the utility closet completely clean. If you want fair pricing, expert specialized service, and a technician who respects your time and home, call Water Heater Masters and ask for Rojo. Highly recommended!

We were replacing a gas water heater with a hybrid electric heat pump water heater. Generally, this…read moretype of heater costs twice as much (price and installation) as a traditional electric water heater, but costs a lot less to run (and therefore you recoup the additional cost in a few years from lower operating costs). I had a very easy experience getting an on-site quote. I received 3 quotes for this job. 2 quotes, including this one, came in around $7100. I went with a third one at around $6700 (which included an additional mixing valve) and am very happy with my decision. Overall price was not a big part of my decision, but brand of water heater was. After doing some research online, the most recommended brands are AO Smith and Rheem (GE). Both higher quotes were for Navien, which has only been making heat pump water heaters for 1 year, but I was told that it is the most reliable brand. I did not understand how this claim could be made, given how short the duration of evaluation for this product. Even the worst appliances usually work for at least a year. So I requested a quote for AO Smith or Rheem, which I did not get. I'm not sure why my brand request was not honored, but it made me question whether I should go with a company that either has communication issues or maybe some type of deal with Navien that I was not informed about. Many water heater installers are preferred installers of certain brands, which means they can get better pricing, etc. I did not want to be a guinea pig for Navien.

This review is based solely on the initial contact and assessment. My experience during the initial…read morecontact was excellent. The receptionist was friendly, professional, and clearly confident in her plumber's capabilities. Martine (sp?), the plumber, arrived on time, was professional throughout the visit, and took the time to answer all of my questions. He also provided the quote within a reasonable timeframe, which I appreciated. I requested the consultation because I was experiencing water hammering when using multiple fixtures. Since diagnosing water hammering often involves a process of elimination, Martine evaluated the situation, confirmed that my water pressure was within an acceptable range, and presented three possible solutions at different price points. Interestingly, each plumber who provided a quote offered a different explanation for what might be causing the issue. Given that water hammering can have multiple potential causes, I ultimately decided to pursue the simplest solution: installing a washing machine arrester valve, which was recommended by another company. Although I chose a different approach, I appreciated Martine's professionalism, punctuality, transparency, and willingness to explain the available options. The overall experience from the initial contact through the estimate process was positive and informative.

Martin arrived within the promised time frame and was extremely professional and personable. We talked through the issue, and he provided a straightforward and honest estimate. He got right to work and not only corrected the problem, but made sure everything was working properly. At no point did he try to upsell us on unnecessary work. His honesty and integrity really stood out--qualities that can be hard to find. The pricing was very fair and budget friendly, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. One thing that impressed me even more was Martin telling us not to hesitate to call with even the small things. He said that if something could be handled with a little advice or a simple DIY solution, he would be happy to help. That level of customer service says a lot about the kind of company they are. We will definitely continue to use Twin Pines Plumbing in the future--although hopefully not too often!
