We searched Yelp and reached out to a few plumbers--Mike's Plumbing was by far the most responsive and was able to come out right away. Mike was professional, friendly, and got the toilet unclogged quickly. He also explained why the issue was likely to happen again due to the poor quality of the fixture. A few months later, we came home to find our hot water heater leaking--a stressful situation right before a busy weekend. We called Mike around 9pm on a Thursday, and by 10am Friday morning he was at our door with a new water heater in hand. Since he was already here, we also asked if he could replace the toilets. George arrived, came in, discussed what we needed, and went to his van to figure out an estimate. Came back with a price of $721.00. Because my husband cannot do this job at his age and condition, he reluctantly agreed to have things fixed. George started on the toilet ring (45 mins), then proceeded to the dishwasher for 35 minutes. He then went to the bathroom, pulled the old faucets out, installed our new ones, and finished the job in 2 hours. He then started under the sink. He said we needed a new tank as well as a faucet. The project was stopped, and we ordered a new tank from Amazon. At that time, we paid him $721.00 via c/c to George. George returned on 9/2/2025 and hooked up the tank to the faucet, which took 30 minutes. He charged us $350.00 for this, which I wrote a check for. We are both in our 80s, and after he left, I told my husband that we had paid D Plumber $1,071.00 for the installation of two faucets, a plugged line in my dishwasher, a new ring on the toilet, and the hookup of a hot water tank to the faucet on my sink. I feel like someone took advantage of us. Now, on their website, they offer a senior discount. I would have asked for it if I had looked them up prior (my husband handled this transaction). But I didn't, and it was not mentioned at the time of the estimate. I had to write this review because I feel businesses like this one take advantage of Seniors. From now on, I'm calling an honest "handyman" available on Yelp.
