We had another company's plumber snake the bathtub, but unfortunately, it didn't solve the problem. Oakland Rooter and Plumbing was immediately able to get someone out to the property within just a few hours. Eddie came out, assessed the issue, and recommended snaking the bathtub again. Within an hour, he was able to clear a hairball from the pipe and get the bathtub draining properly again! We were initially worried that there might be a broken pipe, so we were very relieved that Eddie was able to resolve the issue so quickly. Huge thank you to Eddie and Oakland Rooter and Plumbing! I really appreciated the clear communication, quick response, availability on such short notice, and professionalism. We will definitely be reaching out again for future plumbing services!

Sure enough, it was definitely on its way out. He went to Home Depot and got all new parts. This made the repair expensive but not as expensive as a separate visit. After getting a very high quote from a major plumbing chain, we decided to contact Water Heater…read moreMasters. We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Water Heater Masters. Alex sent our technician, Rojo, who helped install a new 40-gallon gas water heater in our indoor utility closet, and he was incredibly diligent, professional, and efficient from start to finish. Installing a tank in an inside closet can be tricky, but Rojo handled the entire job seamlessly in just 2 hours. He replaced everything with high-quality components, including: * New hot and cold water flex lines * A brand new water shut-off valve * A new gas flex line and sediment trap * Fully reworked earthquake straps (to meet California safety codes) * Properly updated T&P line and venting He also took care of the removal and disposal of our heavy 18 yr old tank, leaving the utility closet completely clean. If you want fair pricing, expert specialized service, and a technician who respects your time and home, call Water Heater Masters and ask for Rojo. Highly recommended!

We were replacing a gas water heater with a hybrid electric heat pump water heater. Generally, this…read moretype of heater costs twice as much (price and installation) as a traditional electric water heater, but costs a lot less to run (and therefore you recoup the additional cost in a few years from lower operating costs). I had a very easy experience getting an on-site quote. I received 3 quotes for this job. 2 quotes, including this one, came in around $7100. I went with a third one at around $6700 (which included an additional mixing valve) and am very happy with my decision. Overall price was not a big part of my decision, but brand of water heater was. After doing some research online, the most recommended brands are AO Smith and Rheem (GE). Both higher quotes were for Navien, which has only been making heat pump water heaters for 1 year, but I was told that it is the most reliable brand. I did not understand how this claim could be made, given how short the duration of evaluation for this product. Even the worst appliances usually work for at least a year. So I requested a quote for AO Smith or Rheem, which I did not get. I'm not sure why my brand request was not honored, but it made me question whether I should go with a company that either has communication issues or maybe some type of deal with Navien that I was not informed about. Many water heater installers are preferred installers of certain brands, which means they can get better pricing, etc. I did not want to be a guinea pig for Navien.

It only occurred when the weather was hot. Basically, only summer afternoons. We had PG&E come out repeatedly and they could not find the source. We spoke with plumbers and other heater repair companies. All of them told us that it was not our heater; that we were wrong about the inconsistency of the smell. That gas leaks are only consistent and would not happen only when it was hot. We were told that we must be wrong. We felt like we were going crazy. Until we called Bay Area Water Heaters and Dave came out (with a whole crew). He took the time to inspect our heater and said yes, this slight gas smell on hot days is something he had heard of. It was likely due to an old valve within the control panel. He walked us through our options but ultimately suggested replacing the entire heater. His team was able to do the job right then and there and at a reasonable rate. It was completed within the hour. And sure enough, no more gas smell in our garage. Dave and his team were amazing and incredibly professional. We will be using this company again.

I had scheduled a service appointment and needed to cancel. I understand that cancellations impact a schedule, so I remained completely calm and polite throughout the conversation and paid their full cancellation fee immediately without hesitation or dispute. Despite complying with their policy right away, the owner became hostile. He lost his temper, raised his voice, and berated me for how much the cancellation hurt his business. A cancellation fee is meant to cover lost time--it is not a license to yell at and lecture paying customers who are speaking respectfully. Handling ordinary business interactions with this level of aggression and emotional volatility is completely unacceptable. I would strongly advise against dealing with an owner who treats customers this way.

Cristóbal Paredes got back…read moreto me within minutes, and Wilson was at my door and finished the job within three hours -- on a Sunday afternoon, when most plumbing companies around here won't book anything outside a weekday appointment. The old angle stop behind the toilet turned freely but was clearly calcified internally. Wilson replaced it with a proper quarter-turn ball valve and swapped the fill valve as well. Fill time and pressure are back to normal. Two things stood out beyond the work itself. First, I had already bought some of the parts, and Wilson took them right off the estimate without my having to ask. Second, my Kohler has a canister-style flush valve, and instead of upselling me on the seal, he showed me how to replace it myself -- which part to order, how to get the canister out, what to watch for. That's a repair he could easily have billed me for. Fast, honest, clean work, and genuinely generous with his knowledge. If you need a plumber who won't pad the bill -- and who actually shows up on a weekend -- call Master Plumbing Solutions.

Not only did he respond to my message that I left quickly! And I also left a text just to be sure. He called back and walked me through some safety protocols to make sure everything was turned off like the gas. Then came by the next day! He is very honest and does not try to upsell. He could've easily sold me a whole new water heater installation because it's been in the home already now for 18 years!, but he decided that we could just try changing the one part that had rusted and began spewing water everywhere.
