Do not follow the Apple maps , because it takes you to a very different spot and I tried multiple times.The address just seems inconsistent with what Yelp has and what maps has . Anyways , Relevant coffee is extremely popular In the area and I can see why . The coffee shop is cute , spacious and well lit and is an excellent spot for working or just hanging out with a book or in my case with a phone. Lots of metered parking right outside but it does get busy during the day .The drinks and baked goods tasted nice. They had so many seasonal drinks that sounded delicious -hot autumn maple latte , hot orange Mocha etc etc but I decided to stick to my favorite drink which is a cappuccino and wasn't disappointed. This is one of the most amazing coffee places I have ever had in my entire life downtown. Vancouver has the most exquisite and beautiful little shops and this coffee shop is amazingly pleasing to the eye, clean, very, very talented staff and the coffee is to die for Absolutely the best coffee in the Pacific Northwest ! I do absolutely nothing to my drink but at Starbucks or any other coffee shop I have to add things to my drink after they make it, but not here ! This place was recommended by a colleague as a place for the two of us to have a meeting. Relevant Coffee had already been on my list of places to check out so I was happy to land here. The space is gorgeous and welcoming, as are everyone who works there. Perhaps some of the most genuinely friendly baristas I've encountered. And this place was hoping! That can be the true test of service. I am allergic to coffee so I always go for chai or matcha. It's been a while since my visit so I can't remember which drink I got but i do remember it was excellent! As mentioned before, this place was hoping with folks tucked into their drinks, many behind laptops. So seating was a bit hard to come by, but I was able to get a little two seater by the register. So know that you may have to negotiate for space should you want to come to study or work. Be patient. It's worth the wait. read more

Customer service is a priority here, all of the staff I have interacted with have been courteous and kind. It can get busy here but don't fret, the line moves quickly. This is a nice looking space and seems quite popular. I don't know why. I had a hot chai lotte that lacked any real flavor notes that could pass the milk. I ordered coconut milk and got almond milk. And they have a very limited pastry availability. I ordered an almond cherry biscotti that had very sweet cherries and tons of chocolate...I like chocolate but it should say there is chocolate. I can understand they have posted hours but the place was full at closing; they may want to rethink their hours. So many great places for great coffee in Vancouver; i do not plan to return here. read more

Matcha was creamy and delicious. Friends really liked the turmeric latte. Scone was soft and flavorful. Busy but quick on a Friday morning. I just moved to the Vancouver area and this is the closest coffee shop to me . I decided to give it a try and was so happy they have matcha there ! Matcha is the best one I've found so far. Most matcha places I've tried are watered down or taste to much like milk. . I like the shop and the barista women with curly hair and the man barista are always so welcoming and kind to me ! My friends and I love Relevant! The staff is super sweet and quick, especially considering how busy they are during rush times. It is very clean and has a comfortable downtown aesthetic. Stopped by for two afternoon lattes to go on a trip back from Portland! The atmosphere and decor inside is super cute and going for a modern/minimalist look. They seem to be really keen on safety still which was nice and had signs for their "rules" (like seating for 90 minutes, no phone calls in the shop- which I appreciated!). I got a oat milk vanilla latte and an oat milk seasonal drink for my husband- it was a smoke spice and cardamom latte. My latte was amazing! Seriously one of the best I've had and I could've gone back for several more. My husband really enjoyed his seasonal latte too and said it was something he'd enjoy again. Tho, for someone always on the lookout for the right balance of murmur, openness and welcome to inspire productivity, this didn't quite make it unfortunately. I'm mainly writing for those, like me, who would want to know: 1) pets are *not* allowed inside the cafe (there are ample tables and benches outside; passerby disruptions were frequent) 2) there is a 90min self-monitored suggestion as to how long one should stay inside and 3) food options are limited, aside from pastries, biscotti, and such. Had I known the above, I would have headed elsewhere for what I needed to accomplish today. Glad, tho, to see the hype and can see me returning under different circumstances. Ok, this review is more about the service at this coffee shop. The coffee is here is good. However... I ordered an iced latte today, that's it. After waiting a good while, I got called up for my order. I saw on their little receipt (that had my name on it) my correct order (an iced drink) however the drink was not iced. That's not the problem, things like this happen. However, when I politely said that I believe my drink should've been iced, the barista looked at me and said "does it really need to be iced?". Like what?? Anyways, I waited for her to remake the drink and all was fine. Maybe I'm just petty but I didn't really like that interaction. Seemed like she didn't want to take the time to remake my drink that she had obviously mistaken. Also, just to add, the one drink was almost $8.00. Coffee, like true love, is always relevant. This is especially true when you find a busy local coffee shop that actually is relevant to the neighborhood. I was impressed with how busy Relevant Coffee was on a lazy work day afternoon before the age of social distancing and virus fears. The menu behind the counter was simple, but the service there was splendid ... and quite relevant to my appreciation for this uptown Vancouver coffeehouse. The baristas were chill. Conversely, my latte was hot and strong ... plus cute for photos. Instagram loved it as much as I did. Just a beautiful, but not nearly as tasty was a a Phillykake treat with vanilla cake topped by peanut butter and dipped in chocolate ganache. It seems impossible to mess that combination up; however, it was dry and lacking sweetness. I'm a fan of Relevant Coffee because of the coffee and coffee is always relevant. read more

Little piece of hipster Portland here in downtown Vancouver with a hint of modern class. The interior has the feel of that of a modern ikea example room but in a good way, it's the feel you get when you see that set up in ikea and are like "this is what I want for home. You walk in and are greeted by the barista and have the menu, simple yet everything you need in a coffee shop. I tried out the cortado which is one size. I was hoping to get the full flavor of that of the typical Cuban coffee that I had when I was in Cuba and sadly did not get that taste. It wasn't terrible but tasted more or less like that of a latte with a strong shot. I then ordered the small latte (4.00) and a French Pastry they get from Portland. I tend to really base my review of a coffee shop off of two things "can this place make a latte and good drip coffee" the latte was very good and had honestly that warm creamy taste that is what you expect from a latte. The pastry was soft and warm and was very good. I wish I could remember the name of the bakery in Portland they get it from but it's a must try. This spot has WiFi and has a section where you can relax at on the couch or bench. Honestly if it had a couple more couches it would be a perfect place to study/relax. The tables and stools work though don't get me wrong just wish it would have more of a lounge feeling. All in all I think I need another round to get the full round idea of this place. So far though I'm digging the smooth chill Portland vibes this place gives off with its instrumental music and relax decor. read more

Huge applause for changing how you "ask for a tip"! I stopped coming here because you'd swing the screen around and strategically give me a set of options- dollar amount A B or C or percentage tip options, depending on what will pay out better. Asking is much more polite and feels less like pressure tactics. On a personal note, I typically don't pay a 30% tip or more on a single cup of coffee, and that was the only option I was given. If you offered more food, I would absolutely tip more (more tip for more service/services), or if I was dining in. Coffee is delicious, I love the house sweetener. You need more real food, and seasonal/rotating fun drinks and flavors. But something tells me you're too artisan for that.. read more
