I've been on the hunt for a different nail salon and am beyond thrilled I went with relax nails! They have the largest selection of colors I've ever seen and the quality of their polish is great. At previous salons I've asked for 3 coats, however, at relax nails 2 coats does the job and does it well! This nail salon is kept clean and is beautiful. As soon as I walked in I instantly felt relaxed. They offer 17 different pedicures, WINNING AT LIFE HERE! I got a no chip manicure done by Kim and I am obsessed with how it turned out. Kim's attention to detail is phenomenal, she took her time and made sure I was happy with the end product. She's super friendly, kind and I enjoyed talking with her. All the technicians here are trained by her so rest assured they ALL do a great job. I'm so grateful to have found my now go to nail place and can't wait to come back! Tips - bring cash for tips as you aren't able to add gratuity if using a CC. Also - if using a CC there is a $3 charge that goes to maintaining products and helping with their business. I find that very reasonable and would much rather pay $3 to support a small locally owned business vs a bank fee. read more

Who ever recommends this place must be smoking crack. I try to avoid venturing out in Schaumburg at all costs since all customer service has gone to garbage. You're better off doing your nails yourself .... This place is absolutely filthy. Like their water wall in the back even has slime growing on it. I should have walked out as soon as I walked in with an appointment and no one knew what was going on or that I was booked even though I had a text confirming my appointment. They tell me to sit down in some random chair so I did. Then I immediately get told not to sit there and then again to sit there. No offer to take my jacket ... nothing... just demands. Girl puts the foils on my fingers and then says ok go sit in the pedi chair- I get up dripping acetone everywhere, foils falling off, trying not to ruin my jacket or purse. I sit, water is too hot but I wasn't asked until after my feet were being scrubbed. Meanwhile I'm still fumbling with all my jacket and purse to put somewhere. As the pedi goes on she's digging so hard at my nails they are bleeding. The regular mani was just as crappy. Appointment is recommended, but I had called before I went, so they told me to come on in. The men's mani and pedi is $50, but I added some additional options, so with credit card charge fee, it came out to $75 and more for tip. Your standard Asian ran nail shop, seems like the layouts are all the same :) the person doing my nails was great, took good care of me. If I could give this a 0 star, I would. To start, a few years ago I regularly went to this location for an acrylic fill. The prices were different every single time, even when I wasn't getting a design and it was just one solid color. There was a specific nail tech that was always so rough and so rude - so my friend and I just decided we would find a new salon. Fast forward to a few days ago, we decided to try this place out again. I showed a picture of what I wanted, the nail tech came back to say they don't have that color so I opted for a nude shade. She proceeded to paint my nails a bright white color. I decided they didn't look that bad so I left the salon but as I looked at my hands, I did not like the white. So first thing the next morning I called the salon as asked if they could be repainted and what the cost would be. I was told on the phone it would be free and to come in later. Great. I go into the salon that evening, tell them what I'm there for. The receptionist calls up the tech that originally did my nails and the proceeded to look me up and down with dirty looks, to then tell me it would cost $40 for a repaint. No Ma'am. Once I'm seated with my new color picked out, the tech says "from now on, pick your own color". I did not respond as I was hoping she would just finish it and it'd be fine. She ruined my nail bed. I will be surprised if I dont have an infection in my thumb from her taking the drill and running over my skin countless times. Lets fast forward to the very end of my appointment. My left hand is drying and then I'm free to go. The tech says "when that hand is done, leave" and stomps away. I strongly recommend not going to this salon. You can try to avoid the mean tech but it does not matter who you book an appointment with, she weasels herself in anyway. One of the best nail salons around. One thing I HATE about nail salons is that when they do acrylic sets, they leave them chunky and lumpy. I call the pistachio-shell nails. I ALWAYS recommend this place to my friends because they do the best acrylics!!! I don't even get acrylics myself, but I endorse this place anyways because my friends always get the shiniest and sleekest sets here. I love getting my pedicures here, they used to be a bit cheaper before COVID, but they're still affordable compared to everywhere else. Be sure to make an appointment. I've been looking for a good nail salon for weeks now and have tried others that I didn't like too much. Relax Nails was another try for me, but they did such a good job that I don't think I'd want to go anywhere else! I booked an appt at 11am (at 9am earlier that morning!) and almost immediately, I got a call from Lisa (who I booked with) and she said her 10:30am canceled and I am welcome to come earlier if I am able. I was so excited to be able to get my nails done earlier, so I hopped on the opportunity to do so. When I got there, it was busy! A wedding party had come in earlier than their original appt and Lisa was pulled away to do their nails. Trang ended up doing my nails and she did a great job! I waited 3 months before posting this review to see if my thoughts have changed about the male tech/ maybe even he's salon owner and it's a firm no. He is arragant, cold and totally distintetested in his clients. That's why I tipped him $20. Bet he was surprised since he made me feel totally unwelcomed and was annoyed throughout the entire time. It was a long hour + sitting in that chair... The dip french manicure was so-so. He assumed I had natural nails so he had to add tips after the acetone melted them off. Of course he charged me for tips. He assumed I wanted oval shape nails. Didn't bother asking so my nails looked like 2 color Easter eggs . The white tip line was too thick. He didn't offer a hand massage, NOT surprising, and he totally rushed me off after he finished. I've been back twice since and the service was much better with the females. I love this place! I've been coming here for many, many years. They recently moved into a bigger space next door and the ambiance has everything you need to RELAX!! The staff are warm and welcoming and they genuinely care about your happiness with their work. I have never sat with a technician that has made me unhappy. I came on 8/1 for a no chip pedicure and although the "luxury pedicure" is $40 in their book of services, I was charged $50. I went back today for the same pedicure and was charged $60. Something about this place is shady. She didn't mention anything being of extra charge and I had the same exact service done both times. I hate to do this since my wife absolutely adores this place but every time I come here with her, I usually have a bad experience. She usually schedules an appointment with her favorite nail tech, Kalie but I always end up getting stuck with the older lady (I forgot her name). A few months ago, I had a less than satisfying experience that was similar to this one but just dismissed it. Now I feel the need to say something. Came here last night for a Mani-Pedi. The girl started off ok on my pedicure but midway thru, while cutting my cuticles, on my right big toe, she cut too deep at the nail bed and I felt a sharp pinch then I saw a small dot of blood start to come out & the slight pain to follow. She knew she messed up because I saw her scramble really quick to remedy the situation with cotton & a liquid to clot the blood. Then minutes later, she applied the finishing touch, the wax, but walked away, took a personal phone call and left it on my legs way too long. She basically had to like scrape it off my feet then there was wax still peeling off when I went to put my shoes back on. Now in all fairness, I get that they don't get many men, let alone black men so they're likely inexperienced in dealing with men feet but there's no excuse for poor service in my opinion. Kalie, however, IS phenomenal because I had her 1 time about a year ago & enjoyed it. Sadly, if my wife come here again tho, she'll either have to come by herself or take someone else. I just recently moved to this area and my sister and I wanted to go for no-chip manicures. I read so many reviews for the salons in our area and it seemed like every salon in a 10 mile radius had horrible no-chip reviews. We were starting to give up but I found this place and we thought we would give it a try. I called ahead to make sure they had openings and we were greeted right away and asked to choose a color. They told me over the phone that no chip is $32 which is a great price compared to other salons nearby. My nail tech's name was Kaylie and she sat me down right away. She was very friendly and started a conversation with me. She was also super sweet and complimented my hair color. I watched her while she was doing my manicure and she really did everything right. She did a great job trimming and pushing back my cuticles which many salons I've been to just skip or rush through. My nails were finally long after months of quarantine/work from home with the exception of two that broke but she followed my instruction to leave them as long as possible. She also nailed the shape I asked for, didn't apply too many coats, and gave me a nice hand massage while each other hand was curing. I waited to post a review until a week later because I wanted to see how they held up. They are still perfect even after cleaning my apartment multiple times. No peeling on the sides, chips, or damage of any kind. I rarely treat myself to a extra stuff like this but I definitely feel better about spending $40 for a manicure knowing it was done so well. They sat me down in my seat and I waited 20 minutes while my nail bath water got cold for my nail technician to finally approach me. Nobody asked how I was doing or reassured me that I would be tended to soon. The customer service here is horrible. It's like you are bothering them when you request for service. I went in on Black Friday and it was empty. It took awhile for someone to say hello and attend to me then when I asked for pedi and full set, the guy said I should come back in a couple hours so I ended up going to Vogue nails and their customer service was great. Vogue nails is more expensive but for the service that I received, I will definitely pay more to go there from now on. So while I was there, saw a pretty good improvement in customer service.
