I've been getting my hair cut here for about 4 years now and I see Nikki for all my hair needs. She is the absolute best! My hair doesn't really grow fast, and a botched hair cut several years ago (at another salon) left me with tons of uneven layers all over my head. Nikki respects the fact that I'm trying to grow my hair out and blends in those awful layers beautifully. You could never tell my hair was so uneven after I leave her chair! I enjoyed my deep tissue massage and 30 minutes between the wet and dry sauna. Overall, it was about 2 hours of heavenly bliss. It's rare that I indulge in such activities, but I felt compelled after being on my feet at a sales meeting for 2 straight days. I found the staff to be friendly and the amenities to be nice and clean. I enjoyed using the men's locker room, it was stocked with all the items you would want to find, including Jack Black hair and shower products and ice cold infused water. When I'm back in Dallas, my go-to massage spot is at the Four Seasons (only because there are great therapists there), but since the Gaylord Texan offered some great packages, I decided to try Relache this time. Got the Hill Country Spa Package here that consists of a facial and massage (I extended mine to the 90 minute massage). I must say the Gaylord Texan is beautiful, and Relache's environment was very comfortable, warm and inviting. The amenities were a bit narrow in choices, in my opinion, but I've noticed that about spas in Texas. (Maybe I've been spoiled with the amenities at Miami Spas like the Bleu Rain Room @ Lapis...ahHhhh......now only if we can get the therapists in Texas to come to the spas in Miami...hmMmm) Anyhow, back to Relache, there were the usual sauna room and steam room, that were a bit small, and a waiting/relaxing area that was oddly located next to the locker room. Nonetheless, I give this place 4 stars because my massage and facial were good...I only wished the therapist worked on my neck and shoulders a bit more as they are my problem areas, and my whole reasoning for getting a massage... The facial was very well done, and very informative. The best part was the additional head, neck, and shoulder massage that came with it! read more

Excellent place for a relaxing massage! My husband and I each had the Destress Massage. Highly recommend! I only gave 4 stars because my girls(13 & 16) had pedicures which were not great. Polish was coming off by the end of the first day and nails were cut uneven. But the staff was very friendly and everything else, including the amenities were wonderful. I would definitely return but just stick to the massages. read more

I experienced the Relache Spa for the first time today and was blown away by the kindness, professionalism, and cleanliness of the staff and spa. I was not a hotel guest but came in for a facial and was helped by Jamie Gates. Not only was Jamie professional, but she was extremely kind and gentle. She did an excellent facial and exceeded my expectations completely. I have never met someone so attentive and gentle and Jamie was that plus so much more. She did the most amazing job and I highly, highly recommend her and the Relache Spa for any/all spa needs. read more

This is my go to spa and I have been coming here for years. I have regular facials here and their resurfacing facial is amazing. I also like their organic peels. I like their facilities even though they don't have a jacuzzi. They make up for it in nice relaxing areas. There is a common area where it is relatively quiet and they have comfy chairs and magazines to read. They also have a slumber room where the lights are low and you can take a nap before or after your treatment. Their sauna is super hot and gets the toxins out. Their steam room is also nice with eucalyptus to clear your head. There is a co-Ed lounge that is also quiet and relaxing and you can get nice tea, fruit or trail mix. You also have access to the gym and indoor pool. The areas are well maintained and the ladies who help you are always friendly and ready to help with anything. Food is very good and you can order pretty much anything from the hotel's room service menu. They do have a spa menu for lighter fare. They offer complimentary scrubs, shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, lotion, other toiletries and hair products. On a spa day I am here from opening time at 9a until 5p or 6p and the staff know I making myself home. And they make me feel at home. read more

Just had a wonderful experience at this spa. Had an 80 minute custom massage by a guy named Sam who was AWESOME. I can't speak to any other employees' talents, but Sam was amazing. Extremely nice, attentive, and knowledgable about his profession (and really attractive, but let's not digress). The spa overall was very nice and a welcome break for the craziness that comes with a resort like the Gaylord. Tranquil, serene, warm, and comforting. I never wanted to leave the sauna! Didn't love it. Mediocre, which is NOT what you pay for. Most expensive pedicure I've ever had, and one of the poorest. Immature nail technicians, not professional, and no effort to make it a "spa experience." Just an average pedicure at a salon (separate from the spa-- it really was just a nail place) with a bad massage and awkward conversation with the nail tech. I was particularly disappointed because taking my friend was supposed to be a nice gift, so I paid x2 and it didn't end up being as nice of a gift as I hoped. This was one of the best spas I've ever visited. It is HUGE inside! It has a co-ed quiet room, and a private "slumber room". As an esthetician myself, I can honestly say that Tana gave me the best facial I've ever had! She customized my facial, and her massage techniques were amazing! She massaged my feet, atms, hands, and as soon as she massaged my ears, I fell right to sleep! My skin was left soft, supple and hydrated. I felt afterwards as if my entire body had been worked on, and I left with that marvelous spa-coma feeling that is often missed. read more

I have been to spas in exotic locales in Hawaii and the Caribbean and some in my home state and my experience at Relache Spa rivals the luxurious experiences of lomi lomi massage in Maui and my monthly spa treatments at Hand & Stone. Yes, you may be very surprised to read this...I was not expecting it either! I was expecting a run of the mill pedicure at a hotel spa. From the moment I walked in I felt at ease, I was greeted by friendly receptionists and only waited a short while for my nail technician. The basic pedicure was amazing and I enjoyed a glass of wine in serene surroundings. My nail technician was skilled, personable, and gave me one of the best pedicures I ever had (and I have had many!). I wish I would have opted for a specialty pedicure. A beautiful spacious spa with very friendly staff and amazing products. The spa areas are divided into male/female but there's a place to spend time together before your services. Prices are a little high but it's worth it because of the amenities. Although the atmosphere and amenities (sleep room, steam room) are amazing, this spa is too big for their britches! IF they answer the phone for an appointment, you will like sit in silence as the scroll through the computer to find an appointment for you that doesn't seem to exist. It must be a task, because everyone seems confused. Then, god forbid you have to cancel! Because they WILL in fact charge you for the service regardless(policy #35,677,899). ;) however, don't try to make an appointment the day you arrive at the hotel. Depending on who's at the front, they "don't have anything available". Oh wait! unless Jennifer is there (she is awesome) then she will make it happen for you (masseuse on call - the other girls seemed to "forget" that exsisted). I love they take you back to a gorgeous waiting area where your service provider comes to get you. It's very relaxing as you change into your robe, sip some wine and lounge in the sleep room. The actual services are what you can get any where else. Nothing special about them unless dollar signs count as special $$$$$$$. Wow! After 1 massage and a pedicure, my wallet was missing $300. Wish I had read the reviews here before taking my sister for massage after my exams. I've been at this spa before and THAT time brought two nieces and paid the local rate during the week. I had a male masseuse and he was excellent. However, This time I booked I don't think I told the receptionist I had a Groupon. Maybe I did. So I had Nellie as the masseuse this time and since this was supposed to be a $ 100. "Custom" massage, I wrote on the query form that I had trouble with my upper and lower back. Nellie claimed to be from Sweden, but I did not get anything even remotely like the format of the Swedish massage. Apparently the issue was that I didn't pay for "upgrades" that one normally receives gratis during a massage: in foot massage, hand massage, hot rocks. The idea is that they just heat up your back and rub your head for 20 minutes and reach behind you to rub your back while you're still lying on your back? WTF???? I told her my back was bothering me and I wanted that included as the focus of the massage . So she finally flipped me on my stomach and rubbed the back of my head? It wasn't a massage either. it was "patty-cake" She never freaking touched my lower back! Then she said, that's it! I said really? You never touched my back. Oh...you were sleeping! Nope I was angry, so yeah, I was very wide awake. So you're going to pretend I fell asleep and "missed" the back massage?? Really?? I'm a local, not someone visiting, but tourists shouldn't be ripped off, either! The coup de Gras was that they wanted to charge me another 20% on "services" greeter, masseuse, etc. The receptionist claimed that Nellie came to her??? And said I wasn't happy. But that I "fell asleep"? OH HELL NO!! So no wonder Nellie didn't give a rat's ass about the quality of her work. She figured it wouldn't affect her tip ANYWAY. I usually tip the masseuse directly. BUT CERTAINLY didnt bother. So, no more Groupon for me. I refused to pay the %20. Service fee on $200. The "custom" massage I paid for, wasn't. My sister had the same bullshit "massage" from Pina. So apparently they make a deal not to "outshine" each other. My sister said it wasn't even the quality of massage-school level. I concur. read more

This is the shadiest spa with extremely questionable business practices. I was scheduled for a massage but we had a family emergency the morning of my massage and I had to cancel. Unbeknownst to me, this spa charged my credit card $180 for the full massage because I cancelled at 1:00 for a 4:30 appointment. But apparently if I would have cancelled before 10:00 they wouldn't have charged my card. I've travelled all over the world. I've stayed at places most only dream of and I've never been treated like this. $180 down the drain. For nothing. Never, ever, EVER will I stay at this hotel OR go to the spa. When I tried to get in touch with the manager of the spa regarding the charge I was told she'd call me back. So after 5 calls on my end, I'm still waiting for her call. We have 17 people coming to Texas from out of state for both holidays coming up.. not 17 together but 17 for each holiday and at one point I was convinced this is where we were going to put them up but not now. They'll now be staying at the Great Wolf Lodge. My husband company has a huge "thank you" get together at the Gaylord every year and spends thousands of dollars. It we'll no longer be seeking out their services. They are shady. They are a rip off. They are unacceptable. I hate to give it one star but yelp wont let me give it none. read more

I had to put one star but this place deserves no stars. I was staying here for a convention and booked an appointment to get my hair darkened as my first choice (Renata Spa) was booked solid. First off there is a 100% cancellation fee which I now understand as the place was empty and the quality of service terrible. This is apparently yet another way for them to rip you off (or the ony way to pay bills as they have no clients) I booked an appointment for partial LOW lights as my hair was WAY too blonde.Apparently the person booking the appointment wrote in Highlights. Despite coming in with bleach blonde hair and using terms like it "needs to be darker", it's WAY too light, I want something more sandy... and pointing out photos-I got HIGHLIGHTS. After I got over my shock and tried to comb through my fried hair, I had to go and track the manager down myself after waiting for 10 minutes for the hairdresser to get her. I was told by MIsty the manager that the stylist explained what she was going to do and I went along with it. Does this make any sense??? I'm a bleach blonde! Why on earth would any professional put highlights on me? They offererd to fix it for me (full lowlights would now be needed-another 160.00) and give me 40% off that but I would still have to pay for the botch bleach job.Graciously they only made me pay 70.00 for the priviledge of having my hair ruined. Unless you have a background in hair styling and can mix and apply the color yourself do yourself a favor and AVOID this place. If you're desperate and have to go here-be sure to bring a instructional textbook, a collage of photos and hair samples and they might be able to get it right. 50/50 chance. I wouldn't even expect this poor service from a low budget chain salon, never mind a place where you spend hundreds of dollars a night. Very low class. read more
