This review is about one co-owner, Ashley, whom I have never met in person. My mother has a cognitive disability and a vision impairment. On the day of her Brazilian Blowout appointment, with no prior notice, Ashley texted that I would need to stay with her for the entire multi-hour service because she "has occasionally wandered" and asks questions. I couldn't take off work at a moment's notice to sit in a salon for hours, so my mother lost her appointment, right before a family trip. I asked to reschedule with a different stylist instead. No previous stylist here had ever raised a problem. Nobody from the front desk ever called me about these supposed earlier incidents. My mom goes to other salons without any of this. There was no offer of a quieter time slot, no middle ground, just: bring a chaperone or don't come. Salons are public accommodations under Title III of the ADA, which prohibits imposing conditions that screen out customers with disabilities. The Department of Justice has gone after businesses specifically for requiring disabled customers to bring an attendant. I'm not a lawyer, but "take a day off work to watch your mother get her hair done" is not a reasonable accommodation. It felt discriminatory, and after looking into the ADA that day I was confident it was. Ashley and I argued on the phone that same afternoon in May. I was frustrated and upset, and I'll own that. That was the end of it, or so I thought. I kept coming in for my own appointments for months afterward without a single issue. Then in late October I called to book a haircut for my wedding. The receptionist put me on hold, came back five minutes later, and told me she had spoken with Ashley, and that because of that call back in May, Ashley had decided to refuse my future appointments. Five months after the fact, and the salon's own front desk said the reason out loud. The ADA protects people from retaliation for objecting to disability discrimination, which is exactly what that May call was. I'm filing a complaint with the DOJ. I'm posting this so families with disabled relatives know what to expect before booking. The stylists here are wonderful. So much for being an inclusive establishment.

Overall, the salon is nice, clean and products are good. Just wish I didn't feel like a number when paying over $100 for a haircut.
