I cannot say enough great things about how Reidhead plumbing communicates and quickly responds to customers. I was without hot water for two weeks and though my home warrantee was assigned 5 different contractors that had tons of excuses of why they couldn't fix it. Once Reidhead was assigned to it, not only did they help push though the work with the Home Warrantee but they came out to do the work on a Saturday (the next day) so that I could have hot water again. The service person was great, explained everything and was quick to get it all replaced and up and running. I highly suggest them for any plumbing needs. read more

I am giving this establishment a zero!!! We called them for two separate occasions and made appoointments. The first occasion they called 1 hour before the end time of 8-12 to tell me that the technician was not coming. And on the second time it happened again!!!!! So my old water heater started leaking and I needed a new one, it started out as one of those days.... I posted my requirement on Home advisor and started getting calls. After pricing around, I went with Reidhead Plumbing and Solar, their pricing was really fair. They called when they said they would, had someone out the same day. The plumber, Mike, was fast, efficient and thorough. What a great experience at a time when the day is looking gloomy, so happy I went with them and would recommend them to everyone. Outrageously expensive! We needed to drain our pool but could not get the cap off of the sewer drain in our driveway. He charged us $300 to remove the brass cap and replace it with a new one. It was 15 minutes worth of labor, at the the most, but he charged us an hour and a half because he didn't have the part on his truck. Even though he knew when we called that we would need to replace the cap that we could not get off. A trip charge ($130) plus an hour and a half labor charge and the part was $15 came to $300. Don't know what happened to this company, but not the same as in the past. They installed a whole house water softner system in the Fall of 2014, approx. $2400. It quit working at least a week ago, but more like 2 or so weeks ago. (SAT) I emailed them Sat.... no response; called them Monday morning asked why they didn't call... no answer but said they would call me right back... no callback. I called again, and they said they would send a guy who was in the area, by that afternoon. Nice guy, no part, even though I told them what the part was. He said he would find the part and I would get a call for him to come by and plug it in later that same day or Tuesday. Take one minute he said, no biggie. (WED) No call back Mon. or Tuesday. Called again and again and again... Finally they call me back to tell me they couldn't find the part. Sorry. Seriously??? I give them contact info. for manufacturer, and warehouse location. (THURS) Did they call local wholesaler, they said yes but they don't carry it and could not get it. BS. I asked if they called the manufacturer. No. So I found the number and gave it to them. No call back. So I called them again late Thursday and asked if they called the manufacturer. Yes. Did they order the part? No. Why? They said IF they find the part, they will call and schedule to come out, and it would be $130 service call plus the cost of the part. I thought this was a joke... $130 to bring an AC Adapter to my house and plug it in, or deliver to me and I will plug it in. Plus they were going to charge for a part that is under warranty. (FRI) I called the manufacturer again, and they told me to not deal with Reidhead, that what they were doing and charging was outragious. I don't believe they called or spoke with anyone. This softwater manufacturer has a couple of wholesale companies that sell their systems, and there is a parts warehouse of theirs in Phoenix. ALL of this information was given to Reidhead and they did nothing. I got the part ($15 AC adaptor) myself Friday (today). NOW (later FRI) - The system still does not work. So I call Reidhead again, no answer and left a message. No CB. Call again and say I have the part the system still doesn't work so the panel itself must be shot. I am in year 4 of a 7 year warranty, and now Reidhead said if I wanted to find and buy the part ($600) they would install it. But if they had to deal with the warranty, they would charge me not only the service call, but also the labor to install, the time to pick the part up at the supply house, the time to return the bad part... all at $130/hr. As they said, they don't really do warranty work. They want me to make the calls, me to buy the parts, and me to handle the warranty with the manufacturer. On top of all this, I called the owner on his cell phone twice because I thought the problem was in their front office. Nope. He refused to call me or to speak with me. Any company that tells the customer to handle their own warranty should be out of business. Seriously?? BTW... I found 2 other companies who will come and check the system out, no charge. Unbelievable. The owner at Reidhead need a serious attitude adjustment. Not ONE person in that company had the brilliant idea to contact multiple distributors, or to contact the manufacturer, or to find out if the manufacturer's local parts house had the part in stock (I made one call, yes they have a dozen in stock). How SHOULD this have worked? They call me Monday morning responding to my Sat morning email, obtain and replace the AC adaptor by Monday or Tuesday, see that the system still doesn't work and order or pick up the other part in Phx., would've had the part by Wed. and the system would have been fixed and working right now (Fri.). Common sense and customer care are just too much to ask any more. read more

Hot water heater exploded late Friday night. Called Saturday morning at 9, and Joe arrived at 1:30. He immediately started vacuuming up the water in the garage, and was done as promised in an hour and half. We're back up and running just like that. Joe was great, went above and beyond in my opinion. We, like like so many others, have experienced less than stellar service over the past few years. Not this time. Can you give zero stars? Plumber arrived (40 minutes late), spoke with me for 5 minutes. When he told me the replacement part for my solar hot water heater would cost $800 (used) or $1500 (new) I said forget about it. I don't want to fix it. CHARGED ME $130 FOR A SERVICE CALL! What service? That is criminal. Update - I bought a new pump on Amazon for $100. Installed it myself in about 45 minutes. Now my solar hot water heater is working like a champ. Had them out to hook up my solar to my new water heater. They came out, made a few needed repairs to the solar, and hooked everything up. After turning the water heater back on, it started peeping with a warning message The tech mentioned he didn't know anything about that particular water heater and basically said set it and forget it. What plumber doesn't know the basics of a Home Depot water heater? Well, the water heater was completely disabled at this point. No hot water at all. I had to personally undo everything he did to get it back up and running. After calling them for 2 days, the tech called me back and said my water heater was incompatible with my solar system and he was willing to discount his labor. I mentioned that everything he did was pointless if my water heater can't be hooked up to the solar system and he should have known this before he charged me $300 for something I can't even use and doesn't solve my problem. He still wanted to charge me for the minor repairs to the solar. I told him those repairs would have be unnecessary if he wasn't able to get the system working in the first place. After containing the leak via a bucket, I informed my property management company whom handles all my home maintenance issues. Within minutes I received a call from Reidhead Plumbing offering to have a technician swing by immediately. They showed up in a timely manner and conducted themselves politely and professionally. My landlord's maintenance guy started a plumbing project later in the day and left with the water turned off. The Riedhead got the work order at 8pm and called. I explained that we had no water. They sent a technician out about 30 minutes later and got our plumbing ready to use. He stayed till 10:30 to ensure that we were able to have water until he could come back to replace the valve. I contacted Reidhead to look at my solar water heater. The technician was on time and very friendly. However, he completely misdiagnosed my problem. He spent less than 5 minutes looking at my water heater before telling me I needed a new one. He then spent 10 minutes writing up the estimate, $3000 for a new solar water heater, or $900 to convert the system back to a regular water heater. We decided to go with that option and scheduled the repair for a few days later. About 10 minutes after the technician left, the office called and said they would need another $300-400 because they needed to go on the roof and fix it when they deactivated the solar system. At that time I told them to cancel the repair order and I'd get a second opinion. I'm glad I did. My husband decided to take a look at the water heater, and come to find out the breaker was off! So he switched the breaker back on, and presto, the water heater kicked on. The pump for the solar panel also wasn't working, and a quick Amazon search found us the exact one for $98. We ordered it, installed it ourselves and now we're back up and running. We spent $130 to have our problem misdiagnosed, and $98 to fix the problem ourselves. So, get a second opinion, or check the obvious symptoms first. Our technician didn't even check the breaker before pronouncing our water heater dead. read more

Incredible service! I called several plumbers to repair the gate valve so my tenants would have water to use at night. Some plumbers could not come at such a short time. One emergency plumber came and said that he needed to get the part tomorrow and wanted $1,100. Derick from Reidhead Plumbing put my job as top priority, came at night as promised, opened up the gate valve which other plumbers did not know how, and turned on the water. Derick was life saver and hero to us. My tenants had water again to use at night. We all thanked him very much and the price was honest and very reasonable. Good plumber is very hard to find. By far, the BEST customer service I have EVER experienced. Our water softener burst (on a Sunday) and a new one was installed the next day. Not only was the technician thorough and polite, but the owner himself (Derek) followed-up to make sure everything was in working order. And, as if that wasn't enough, Derek walked us through very important steps (while he was out of town) to make sure the water supply for the rest of the house was in working order until the new unit arrived.
