I have never been to Four Town Farm until recently, but always heard wonderful rave reviews from…read morefamily members who get their corn and other fresh produce for gatherings throughout the year. I am glad I had a chance to visit before Thanksgiving to stock up on some goodies! If you've been to Sweet Berry Farm in Middletown, Four Town is kind of similar, although the rustic farmhouse-chic shop does not have a prepared foods counter. However, they more than make up for it with all the amazing vegetables and fruits grown onsite. I was very impressed with the Honeycrisp Apples and Butternut Squash, as well as their wide selection of house made jellies and salad dressings. In addition to Four Town's slate of offerings, they also showcase other local vendors such as Wrights Dairy Farm's milk and cakes and Venda Ravioli's frozen fresh pasta and sauces. Four Town also carries fresh flowers and greenery that is holiday-ready - Christmas Trees and decorative wreaths and evergreen garlands. The team is friendly and offers excellent assistance in recommendations and recipe ideas- everyone we interacted with was delightful. This is a great stop along the way to lunch or dinner in neighboring Warren or Bristol, and a lovely way to spend a weekend afternoon!

They have a nice coy pond outside that the kids I babysit for love to go see every time we come, they even have two goats that you can visit- Dixie and Belle!

I'm giving them 3 stars only because the produce is good. The service isn't overly friendly but not…read morerude either. Prices seemed a little overpriced until I compared with others in the area so they're the same. I've bought tomatoes from here as well as a place in Swansea and one in Seekonk and the tomatoes are the best there. However my main problem is with the baked goods. I'm a baker so I rarely buy them but the zucchini bread looked good and in all honesty I didn't feel like making my own. First mistake. Got home with the bread and tried a small slice Monday morning. It was bland. Needed seasonings, cinnamon nutmeg more vanilla. Anything would have helped but it was okay. Second bite tasted weird. Like all I could taste was baking soda or flour. Tossed the rest of the piece. My mother ate some and liked it. So Thursday I decided to try it again. Second mistake. First bite all I could taste was the same baking soda flour taste. So bland. Disappointing. Same as the time before, tried another bite and decided not to eat anymore. Tossed that and the rest of the loaf. Glad that was all I ate cause within 10 minutes I felt deathly sick. Had 2 appointments I had to keep, thankfully they were quick, made a 3rd stop for ginger ale and crackers and 6 hours later I slowly started to feel better. Yes, I'm completely aware that I should bring this up to them in person, but in all honesty the staff that I've dealt with are not really friendly or approachable. My interaction with the staff has been hello and thank you. And also since my mom didn't get sick I've chosen to write this and forget it. If she had gotten sick I would have called the MA board of health. So Almeida's- stick to the fruits and vegetables and maybe rethink the baked goods.

I'm going to go ahead and say this place is a hidden Pick Your Own gem, especially this year with…read moreblueberry season being better than it's been for years! A beautiful, scenic ride through Rehoboth. Upon entering, their piggies forage freely and happily in a large, penned off wooded area to your left, and you can also ask to see their cattle grazing a little ways back in lush, green pastures. If you're lucky you might catch one of their chickens strutting around the premises. They sell their beef, eggs, and pork year 'round and it's some of the most nutritious you can buy (no hormones or antibiotics, all grass-fed/foraged - and hot dogs/sausages/bacon are all nitrate-free). Nothing gets wasted - organ meat, bones, etc. are all for sale and the prices are so reasonable for what you're getting. Back to the Pick Your Own: Dufort Farms has over 1,000 blueberry bushes for you to pick from! Yes, over ONE THOUSAND!! And all different varietals! Staged planting so the picking season should run through the middle of September. These are hands down the sweetest, plumpest blueberries I've ever had the pleasure of eating. At $3.5/lb or $3/lb if you pick 5lbs or over, with little if any pesticide sprays used, I don't think this place can be beaten. It's a GREAT place to bring the kids, bring your friend or partner, or just go by yourself and immerse yourself in "blueberry heaven". Keep in mind, no bathrooms and no pets allowed, so plan accordingly. The owners are incredibly helpful, kind and friendly. They'll give you these water-jug buckets for picking, and when you go to pay they'll dump them into a plastic grocery bag, so they encourage you to bring your own containers. Keep in mind buckets hold a little UNDER 5 lbs, so if you want to take advantage of the $3/lb deal, you'll want to ask for 2 buckets. That's what I did, and I went home that day and made the best blueberry pie I've ever made ---GONE in less than 24 hours, YIKES! They are open on Weds and Sat from 8am-4pm. You should feel welcome to call them if you have any questions - they genuinely want to help you! Go check them out - or make a day out of it and hit up the nearby Ice Cream Barn in Swansea afterwards and pick up a pint to go :-) Oh, one last thing - CASH ONLY. The'll take plastic, but they'll charge you a small processing fee. No checks.

Their impressive roster of products are treasured within our small community of discerning chefs. From their honey and jams to their free range grass-fed beef and everything in between. And for those of you that didn't know, John is also a Captain for U.S. Airways. This man works incredibly hard and it shows in his products!
