I'm giving them 3 stars only because the produce is good. The service isn't overly friendly but not rude either. Prices seemed a little overpriced until I compared with others in the area so they're the same. I've bought tomatoes from here as well as a place in Swansea and one in Seekonk and the tomatoes are the best there. However my main problem is with the baked goods. I'm a baker so I rarely buy them but the zucchini bread looked good and in all honesty I didn't feel like making my own. First mistake. Got home with the bread and tried a small slice Monday morning. It was bland. Needed seasonings, cinnamon nutmeg more vanilla. Anything would have helped but it was okay. Second bite tasted weird. Like all I could taste was baking soda or flour. Tossed the rest of the piece. My mother ate some and liked it. So Thursday I decided to try it again. Second mistake. First bite all I could taste was the same baking soda flour taste. So bland. Disappointing. Same as the time before, tried another bite and decided not to eat anymore. Tossed that and the rest of the loaf. Glad that was all I ate cause within 10 minutes I felt deathly sick. Had 2 appointments I had to keep, thankfully they were quick, made a 3rd stop for ginger ale and crackers and 6 hours later I slowly started to feel better. Yes, I'm completely aware that I should bring this up to them in person, but in all honesty the staff that I've dealt with are not really friendly or approachable. My interaction with the staff has been hello and thank you. And also since my mom didn't get sick I've chosen to write this and forget it. If she had gotten sick I would have called the MA board of health. So Almeida's- stick to the fruits and vegetables and maybe rethink the baked goods. read more

So, this was my first and possibly not my last visit here to purchase a tree. For years I've driven by this place, and always dreamed about my first Christmas tree from them. Now I am a first time home buyer, and i couldn't wait for the Friday after thanksgiving to grab my own tree! they had a great variety of fairly priced trees. It probably took me about 5 minutes for my girlfriend and I to decide on which one we wanted. We decided on a 7 foot, wide, fresh tree. I was so happy with it. $63. Here's the bad. Right from the start, the gentlman who assisted us was annoyingly pushy. He immediately greeted us, which was nice, but he kept directing our attention to a tree without us looking around comfortably. We broke away for a minute and kindly stated we needed to look around by ourselves, in which for some reason he felt it was ok to follow us around. My blood pressure raised. So, we decided on a tree within 5 minutes, and the man grabbed the tree, and started walking to my truck. I stopped him and said " excuse me, but I want a fresh cut," and his response was that "it was just freshly cut an hour ago." So, I took his word, what do I know right? I brought the tree home, immediately put it into its stand with water, and enjoyed the beauty of it. Next morning, the water level had not moved. My tree stand shows the level, and it clearly showed the tree wasn't retaining water. So I sprung into action, popped the tree out of the stand, and grabbed my saw. The bottom was completely sealed with sap. Right to the touch. I cut a half inch, put it into its stand, and by the end of the day about 3 cups of water had been consumed. Ever since then, it's been drinking. I was very lucky that I caught this in time, because I've researched this and this would of killed the tree fast. If you purchase from here, it is a great place to get a great tree. However, make it known that you want a fresh cut, no matter what they say. I will probably be coming back here next year, regardless of that little hiccup. read more

I completely agree with supporting your local farms and farmers. And, I love Almedias! I've been coming here for the past year. They have a great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, at really great prices. The place is clean, and very easy to get to. They're closed in the winter and Spring, but open in the summer and fall. In the fall, they have mums and fun Halloween activities in their corn field. They also sell Christmas trees! I make weekly trips here for all of my fruit and vegetable needs. This place is definitely worth the stop in if you're ever in the area! read more

Stopped here today to pick up some native corn and boy was a surprised when I saw how awesome this place was! The produce was plentiful and stacked so neatly in all of their crates, everything was very nicely labeled with a picture of the produce and the price, the corn was all bagged up in 1/2 dozen or dozen packages which I thought was great and easy to grab and the place was immaculate! They had so many things to choose from, we even got some "purple" green beans! Corn & beans tasted great!!! We will definitely be back!! Shop local!!!! read more

The best local produce around! Excellent corn and I always pick up some fresh eggs. Don't forget to stop by the "bruised bin" for a good deal. I love that they sell single carrots and celery stalks so I don't have to buy more than I need. read more

Great option for fresh produce. Some, but not all is grown locally. Their own native corn is fantastic. Very friendly staff, prices are reasonable and the produce is always in good shape. They are closed in the winter and spring but do sell pumpkins and mums during the Fall and trees and wreaths around Christmas. I can no longer have a real Christmas tree due to allergies, but I always used to buy them here, even when I lived 40 minutes away. They were shaped great and were fairly fresh. It's definitely worth a stop next time you are driving down Route 6. read more

I loooooove Almeida's! I was counting the days until they opened this year. The prices are GREAT, I come here once a week or so and spend about thirty dollars on fruits and veggies and leave with two overstuffed bags! The staff is friendly and pleasant and everyone you see shopping has a smile for you too! It's a great experience and you get to support local farmers and eat fresher food. It's win-win! We also come here for our holiday trees and wreaths, as well as our Halloween pumpkins! read more

I've been coming to Almeida's Vegetable Patch with my family since I was a little kid. It's down the road from the house I grew up in and I have fond memories of popping in for the odd piece of produce we needed or as part of bigger shopping trips where we'd leave with arms full of their brown paper bags. As an adult, I can really appreciate the service they offer the South Coast area. If we can't find produce at the farmer's market (I never get to those things early enough to get the good stuff) I know I can find what I'm looking for at Almedia's later. Local strawberries for $2.99/pint are enough of a reason to go alone but their reasonable prices, friendly service, and convenient location make them worth the visit. So glad I found Almeida's Farm Stand. There is a great selection of fruits and veggies. The staff are friendly and helpful. Make sure you try the strawberry tomatoes!! Found the perfect tree! Johnny helped us out and made sure that we got exactly what we needed. The tree was a little too tall but he helped us chop a little off of the end. It was so great to learn that he was a fourth generation Almeida. There aren't many family owned establishments anymore; this is one of the best! read more
