Finally made it back out to Regions Field after a long time away. The Barons games are always a lot of fun and a great way for families to enjoy some fun, without breaking the bank. Thirsty Thursday offers $2.50 beer and wine up to the 7th inning. So that's pretty good. The concessions aren't extremely expensive either. Regions field is a nice venue to catch a game. There really isn't a bad seat and the seats are comfortable. Huge , clean restrooms. Easy to access entering and exiting the field. Close by parking options for $15. I really enjoy all the cool spots located around the field (good people, tortugas, hotbox, SwitchYard, etc.) There is so much to take advantage of during a visit to Regions Field. Highly recommend!

Regions Field is beautifully renovated, clean, plenty of bathrooms, great shade options for sunny, hot days. I love it. I am docking one star because I was so excited to get a corndog. Imagine my utter disbelief at the lack of corndogs. I checked out several different concession stands and had to settle for chicken nuggets. What I really wanted? Glad you asked. Corndog. They used to have them. I yearn for the days of yore. Or shall I say, days of yoredog. Not just regular corndogs, they used to have the foot-long corndogs. Alas, I will pilgrimage again, hoping, pining, yearning for a corndog. I also want a conecuh corndog option, conecuh sausage with a cornbread-esque façade. I came here with a few friends for Thirsty Thursday! Inflation strikes again, $2 beers are now $2.50. It's definitely a deal, and a great atmosphere! I do think the Barons could do a little bit more in regards to entertainment, but maybe they'll amp it up as the season goes on. Happy baseball season to all! I will be back and hopefully with corndog in hand.

My first ELITE event , I had a blast! Our seats under the scoreboard were amazing and the view was perfect! Being able to meet other Elite Yelpers and network was beneficial! I'm definitely looking forward to the next event!

Had an amazing time here for a midweek game. It was nice that the sunset was behind the stadium and seats were in the shade for a 7pm first pitch. The prices were ok and on par with most stadiums. It was Bark in the Park night so dogs were welcomed. The batters eye is a good view of Children's Hospital and some apartments .

The weather lastnight was perfect for a baseball game. I had a friend that invited me 30 minutes before the game started, but the time I officially arrived worked out in my favor because I scored great parking. The Barons Juneteenth jerseys were so nice and the game was actually pretty good overall. Plenty of seating, the bathrooms were clean, $2.50 beers for thirsty thursdays, the young lady working the portable we went to was super sweet and had a consistent line throughout the night. I enjoyed my Baron's experience. May even come for another game one day.

I was at the Region Field Ballroom for an event a couple days ago. The space is nice, but parking can be an issue. Avoid the private parking lots that require payment. I'd suggest street parking, parking decks, or parking somewhere with an attendant. The set up inside was good and it's really more spacious than I anticipated. The bartenders made decent drinks, but they were kind of weak. Overall, this would be a good venue for a moderate size event.

Our family of 4 went to a game on July 3rd and had a terrific time. We enjoyed the experience immensely.

Tough to once again think I have not written a review here. Could it be a new page situation? I wouldn't think so. Did I forget? Possible. But I can't believe I wouldn't have reviewed a place that changed the landscape of our downtown situation. I have been up in their hospitality areas for private event. I highly recommend doing that if you are looking. For actual baseball I frequent the gen population seats. And they are awesome!! Great food and beer options. This past time, we tried the kid zone... don't try that. Very rained upon inflatables. But other than that.... awesome. Good concession guys walking through. But on a week night, great service all the way around. We will keep bringing our kids here for years.

Great day at the park. My advice is to find a friend that can get you in the Executive boxes. The folks from Regions Bank couldn't have been nicer. The team played well. Lots of kids in attendance. They seem to like the grass down the third base line. The players throw every ball that comes that way into the crowd.

Ballpark of the year last year. And they were conference champs last year too! Wow! I've not been to a lot of ballparks lately to compare but I can tell you that Regions Field is awesome. It doesn't matter where you're sitting, you're close to action. I nabbed a front row seat (yep, Row A!) along the third base line and nearly got clobbered by two foul balls. You have to pay attention here, it doesn't matter where you're sitting. Even the folks behind home plate (where there is *some* netting) got a ricochet that was over the net and then dropped back down into the stands. Concessions are expensive, as you would expect at any baseball park. $4.50 for a hotdog or $5 for a beer. Hey, that's how these things work. Not a tremendous list of options for food. Hot dogs, nachos, pizza, peanuts. I don't recall seeing anything else. What was neat that there was a long counter along the concessions level where you could stand and eat while still being able to see the game. I found my seat to be comfortable, as long as I wanted to look directly ahead. But the action was off to the side, so I was constantly turned and it gave me a bit of a neck ache after a while. All seats except the front row have cupholders. There is a lot of fan engagement going on here. From the marriage proposal (she turned him down and went with the mascot instead) to the gals with t-shirt cannons and the taco/hot dog race from right field to first base. Fun! Parking isn't terrible, if you arrive early enough you can find street parking within a block or three. Flag down one of the golf carts if you want a lif. Kill the time before the game across the street at Good People Brewing! Tip: There is only one scoreboard showing replays and statistics. It's in left field. I would really recommend sitting over in the first base side of the park.

This is my 2nd time here. Great venue and very family friendly. Took my daughter to see Peppa Pig tonight. The wait was long, but that's to be expected. They also have a play area for kids too. The cost for kids 2 and under to play in the play area is free. 3 and up it cost $5 which I think is kinda crazy since you already have paid for your child to get in. All in all we had fun!

Even though I had $25 nosebleed seats (shoutout to Live Nation's 1/2 off sale), the screens made it easy to see and the acoustics were great! Both performers were AMAZING! The line moved fairly quickly and I had no issues with security or staff (unlike State Farm). But an end row seat meant I had to frequently stand to to let people in. Patrons were super friendly. Okay, okay. I hear your cries, it's understandable :) But am I trying to cheat the system or beat the honorable code? No, lol. I'm just a fan who appreciates sports. But now, here at Protective Stadium in downtown Birmingham, Alabama, I'm ready to change that narrative! Well...kinda...sorta :) Protective Stadium is home to college football's UAB Blazers. It was constructed in 2021 and it's practically a brand new venue. So you may be getting ready to raise a red flag and question that if I'm visiting in the middle of May, it's offseason for UAB's football program and there's nothing going on. But alas! Protective Stadium is also home to the UFL - United Football League's, Birmingham Stallions. And so, were the Stallions in town for a home football game against the Houston Roughnecks this past Saturday, May 18th? YES Was the game starting at 7pm? YES Were fans tailgating outside prior to kickoff? YES Were tickets for the game $10? YES Was Seth going to actually attend this UFL game??? YES! But...here's the thing:) No matter what, I had to do my pregame ritual walk around Protective Stadium, lol, and the clouds in the sky were quite ominous. When I checked the weather app, unfortunately, severe storms were heading towards Birmingham. And...this swayed me to skip the game. Oh wow, now fans may be shouting, "just another excuse, Seth":) Welp, I didn't drive all the way to Birmingham, Alabama to at least not tour the grounds. It's my certified duty and badge of honor to relay details and expectations about the layout and design of Protective Stadium! Here goes... The front entrance is highlighted by a large scoreboard sign saying, "Home of UAB Football" next to a fire breathing dragon. This dragon is UAB's mascot. Picture taking here was wonderful. You're surrounded by trees and grass and overall, this Legacy Plaza area in front of Protective Stadium is a great hangout. Plus, across the street offers an Uptown District of restaurants like Texas de Brazil, Casey's Sports Grill and Uptown Cantina. That leads me to say, Protective Stadium is located in downtown Birmingham and adjacent to the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex. You can take public transportation to and from games if you opt out of driving. Capacity is 47,000 seats but it appeared like it could hold more fans. Cost to build was $200 million. Wrapping around towards the left, you have the Stadium Club section or basically UAB's home team side. I give credit to the grounds crew, they had this plaza and the landscaping around it in pristine shape. The box office is located here but there were suggestions to download the app and purchase tickets online. The back section is where you'll find the Northeast Gate. This area opens up to the entire bowl of the stadium. You can't see down to the field from here, but you can view the stands and scoreboard and I would think you'd feel a sense of energy from the crowd. Finishing up the final side, there's not much to see other than a pedestrian pathway. Across the street offers parking and a Top Golf. There were signs warning fans not to park in the Top Golf lot for UAB or Stallions' games. And then it's back to the main entrance Legacy Plaza side with that awesome Protective Stadium scoreboard sign and fiery dragon hanging from high above. In the end, I was very impressed with the walk around experience. For a new multi-purpose complex that includes hosting MonsterJam Truck Shows, ability to have musical concerts and memorably was the site of The World Games opening and closing ceremonies in 2022, Protective Stadium is a terrific landmark of downtown Birmingham.

They also completely erased a huge part of the club's community when they removed the basketball courts. That space brought people together, and replacing it with indoor pickleball--without asking members--says everything about how decisions are made here. Most of the events are geared toward the senior population, so calling this place an "athletic country club" feels misleading. And the last‑minute changes to heated classes, suddenly moving them outdoors when it's 60 degrees and cloudy, make no sense. It feels like they're sacrificing quality just to squeeze in more bodies. It was heartbreaking to lose the cycle classes as that was the only community I had been able to build there. When the gym is crowded, it's barely usable. I've seen the saunas so packed that people are standing shoulder to shoulder. It's uncomfortable and defeats the purpose entirely. And while most of the staff are friendly, it's hard not to notice that some employees show up smelling like weed, which doesn't exactly match the "premium" image they're trying to sell.
