Hooligans is a gem of an arcade! $15 for unlimited play. Tons of machines -- think pinball, DDR, car racing, air hockey and so much more! It's definitely a great bargain. I took my 8 year old son to meet up with friends and they had a blast! We stayed for 3 hours and could have easily enjoyed playing for longer but it was already well past their bedtimes. I got to meet the owner (Ryan) and inquired about the character mural on the wall -- turns out he and a friend designed and painted it themselves! How cool! So much fun. My two biggest problems with Dave & Busters are that I stink at games and never make it past the first level, and don't get to try all the games because I run out of money. With Holligans, neither of these is a problem. Because you pay one price for the day, we got to try out all the games we wanted. And when I died on the first level, I could just continue! Entertainment for the kids, retro games, and a bar!! What else is there to say? The owners have revamped the place and I think it allows for a more pleasurable experience as an adult. As pictured, the hours show that they are open late. This could be a cool date night or just a chill time with friends. I'm surprised I've never reviewed Hooligans! We've come here a lot over the years, it's one of our family's favorite spots! I forgot to take a picture of the painted front entrance, but it's colorful and eye catching in this older shopping center in Alabaster. When you go in, you purchase wristbands at the counter and have unlimited free play for the day. They also offer monthly memberships for $60. The space is dark, the better for highlighting the black light murals that cover each wall. The room is full of a huge variety of games-from classics like PAC-man and old timey pinball machines, they truly have something for everyone! They also have a party area in the back that you can reserve for a decent price! There was a birthday party going on the day we went. They also have a bar area now, with a wide selection of beers, ciders, wines, and seltzers, plus soft drinks and Gatorade. They also serve snacks like nachos, hot dogs, and more. We always love coming here because the owners are always friendly and personable. I'm glad I've been able to see this locally owned business continue to grow and thrive. read more

Worth the drive from Birmingham! We took a family with small kids and no one wanted to leave including me and my husband. The $15 flat rate gets you in and all games are free to play. When D&B can cost $40 for 30 minutes this was an amazing value. Even if you are used to child free experiences, it wasn't too crowded on Saturday afternoon even with a birthday party going on. The kids weren't obnoxiously loud. There is a bar area with a great selection of canned beer for mostly $5 each. read more

Hooligans is getting a face lift and we love it! I forgot to get a picture of the exterior, but it's very eye catching. They have painted the interior walls with popular cartoon characters. They also added black lights. The place glows! The biggest change was removing the putt putt golf. I think it was a great idea. They've added about 40 more games and sitting area. They are also creating a bar area. We hosted a birthday party there. The price was very reasonable for 12 arm bands, 2-hour party section, t-shirt, and party supplies. I honestly was never a fan of this place, however my son used to like it, so we would take him. A couple weeks ago we went and it was worse than all the other times prior. This time my son was even annoyed and bored after 20 mins there. We went with only a couple hours before closing and was charged the full amount, which is ok, but if your going to charge full price, make sure more than half of the machines are working. The place is literally run down and pretty dirty. We won't be back. read more

I witnessed the owners wife get in trouble with the local police for aggressively grabbing little kids and yelling at them for shaking a machine. Not sure if this is a known issue here but I seen the police speak to more then one family. It was concerning to experience and my family and I left. read more

This place is awesome!!! My husband and I grew up in arcades, and now that we have kids it's been difficult to find decent ones. We'll, Hooligans absolutely blew every other one out of the water. 12$ for endless plays all day. Their game selection is unmatched in the area. The art on the walls is fantastic. OMG! It's a blast here! The black light mini golf is a blast, there's different colored balls, different sized putters - and the course is easy enough for all ages! The arcade side is also a ton of fun! They have all the games you can imagine. And now that they've gone to the monthly passes, we'll be buying our second monthly pass pretty soon. If this were the 1980's this would be every kids dream! Unlimited game play for $12.00. Open til close and you can even leave and come back. Today was a cruddy day outside. My daughter needed a nap. Son was bored. We went to try this place out. This place is awesome! There are a dozen or so old school pinball machines, a couple shooter games like Terminator, some racing games a basketball game, ski ball, air hockey, miniature golf, various other video games and some coin operated claw machine type games. The claw machine type games are pay as you go. I have no idea how many quarters my son and I would have spent in an arcade this afternoon. We had a blast racing shooting and competing. It's an absolute blast. The people that own the joint are nice. I would absolutely recommend this place to play some arcade games with or without the kids. Depends on your affinity toward old school video games. It was nostalgic and fun for me and I know my son had fun as well. Great value and a great time for a cruddy day! read more
