Easily one of the best trees we have ever had. I LOVE big ass trees. With me in the house, we will always have big trees :-)
    Timothy C.

For the past few years, a couple friends of mine and I have traveled up north to cut down our Christmas trees. We usually plan on Thanksgiving weekend to go the first or second week of December. So naturally, I just assumed we were going again this year since my one friend, she said, "our annual Christmas tree trip!" She said that last year. I didn't hear those happy words this year. However I still assumed we were going to go. I didn't want to bug them so I refrained from texting and what not. Saw my buddy at the gym and he was like, "she said we would go if you wanted to" I'm like...hell yeah I wanna go! But I'm not trying to make y'all go if you're just doing a fake tree this year. Said he would text me. Never heard from him. So like a sad kid, standing outside his birthday party, hoping his friends would show up, balloon in hand...they did not show up lol. So as that kid would do, a single year rolled down my cheek and I slowly let go of the balloon and in slow mo...it launched into the sky .. with R.E.M.'s Everybody Hurts playing in the background lol Ok, it wasn't all that dramatic. However, I was a little heartbroken we didn't go. It's fun for me. So the roommate and I didn't get our tree until December 22nd. For a couple weeks, I'd drive by Reggies and I'd say to myself, something tells me, ima be getting the tree from there. I checked a few other places and legit one place on State St had a 4ft tree, ugly as hell lol, for $200! That place is a joke. I checked out Reggies and even they were expensive, but you could get a much bigger tree for that money. We went there a week before Christmas and asked for a deal. He said we could come back the week of Christmas and he'd help us out. So we did just that. Hate to get personal personal, but I'm on a fixed income. My fitness instructor job was nice for little extra $. Was gonna use that for the tree. Seeing as Idaho Fitness Factory let us all go..3 days before we got the tree...yeah it hurt lol. We ended up getting like a 14ft tree for $100. Normally $200. I still have it up as I type this lol. It went up late, so we kept it up later than usual. It's a beautiful tree and I can't thank Reggies enough for helping us out. What a truly nice man. Everything from him just kind of radiated..positivity. Im glad his stand is still there. The new apartments right on top of him kinda suck, but makes me happy, no joke, every time I drive by it makes me happy to see him still there. It kinda gives me a sense of comfort because with as fast as Boise is changing and not necessarily for the better, it's nice to see a place like his still there while everything around it changes so drastically. When it's not Christmas, this place has amazing fruits and veggies. If you love produce & NOT from a big box store, absolutely support this man and his business. Truly one of the last greats we have here in Boise. Can't thank him enough for being such a wonderful individual. (Pic of my tree is attached) Thanks, Yelpveggieees! Cheers! Go support Reggies Veggies!

The spaghetti squash is HUGE right now

I LOVE this place!!! Stopped by yesterday for some spaghetti squash and loved all the other goodies they have there. Ended up with a 7 lb squash and a jar of habanero garlic. The girl working at the register yesterday was very cool and was a big help. So far, the garlic is DELICIOUS and the squash is on standby to cook tomorrow. Will definitely be back for more of Reggie's Veggies

    a pile of apricots

I called ahead to ask for apricots by the box. They said they had local ones. I bought a box and got home and realized they were all either freezer damaged or old. I looked on the box and it says they were packaged three weeks ago. No wonder.

OK, I will say I just moved here. Just moved from a city with a great Farmers Market, amazing I…read moremight say so I am a little bias...but this is not really a bias things, more a question. I have spent the last 25+ years going to the Minneapolis Farmers Market every weekend from April to Sept/Oct. Even on weeks that I wasn't going to be home I would come down for the people, the sounds, the smells, the fresh produce. I have this thing in my mind about Farmers Markets and supporting local businesses, local growers and buying good clean healthy products from people who do this year after year! Watching young and old, rich and poor come down to buy locally grown, seasonal products! As a trained Chef, lover of food, lover of people and crowds everything about a farmers market hits for me! I have been to a lot of famers markets in a lot of Cities and States as well, all along those lines for the most part... Now the Boise Farmers Market is very nice, lots of great vendors, good food trucks, Awesome Bagels (shout out to @Good Time Bagels) but the pricing for produce is quite honestly bizarre ! I have been here only 3 months but I find Boise overall to have a much lower cost of living to what I am used to. Restaurants, stores, coffee, alcohol...the little things I enjoy in life are much less expensive...except veggies at the Farmers Market! I would routinely pick up fresh lettuce of various types at the market for $1-2 dollars a head...Boise $7-10??? $7 dollars for a bag of lettuce, are you kidding me, $10..WTF??? $3 for a very, very small bunch of carrots...something that I would expect for $1...This is NOT the markets you would pick up your weekly need of veggies at, you couldn't afford to. $11 for a loaf of fresh bread, really...that's like double what I would pay at Whole Foods (whole paycheck as it's known). Now I get getting a fair price for your product, for your work, what you do...but it's a head of lettuce, it's a carrot...are the costs of growing that much more? That is a general question. MN is a very high tax State, especially compared to ID...not why I moved here at all, love the Boise vibe from the first time I came for work! I very much love this city, the people are so nice but the farmer market both confuses me and disappointed me all at the same time! I will come down ever weekend, I will enjoy the people, the smells, the food and coffee...especially the Bagels...but I will NOT buy lettuce which is such a shame! If you have ever eaten freshly grown lettuce compared to the stuff you get from the grocery store, everything about it is so much better. It actually has flavor, a crunch, taste...but not for $8 (using an average) that's just stupid! Where do the chefs buy fresh produce? Where do the families who want to buy local, want a healthier life for their families...where do they shop? Curious!

Every one of the vendors we spoke with was friendly and the myriad of products available was great. We spit a breakfast sandwich (olive tapenade, sausage, egg, and more!) as well as a mango smoothie (tart) from one vendor, before walking through the market. We ended up buying a bottle of wine and a jar of jam for our journey home. Minus 1 star because it was a) a bit expensive and b) full of dogs even though signs say no dogs (I like them, but not everyone does - for those who don't, it would be good to enforce or at least be aware, it's not a dog free market).

We sat at the cool bar on the tree stump stools (this place is SO COOL!) and were immediately sold. Tom was talking about these drinks called Boozies. The market runs from April-December every Saturday 9:30 am- 1:30 pm. The Grove Plaza is neighbored by the Boise Centre, ICCU Arena, and the BSU downtown campus. I live nearby, so I usually walk but there is both street parking and public garage parking nearby. Here you can find local produce (although, limited if you come later in the day), locally raised meats and fish, ceramics and other handmade products, and ready-made foods. I usually grab a mixed greens salad for $5, which lasts me the whole week. Something about these greens, they do last forever! I had a friend pick me up a bag while I was out of town (yes, I'm that addicted to this salad mix) and he actually bought twice as much as I usually do and they were still nice a crisp 1-2 weeks later! The microgreens here are great, and I love that you can get a mix of different microgreens in one container. There are also a few vendors that sell foods to snack on while you're shopping. My go-to is to grab a cup of coffee that's locally roasted, there's a spot that does have dairy alternatives along with flavored syrups that I love. The dumplings with the spicy momo sauce are the highlight of my Saturdays whenever I come here. If you're in Boise on a Saturday in April-Dec the Capital City Market is the spot to be. Highly recommend it, it's a Boise gem! Never too crowded but still a great spot to people and dog watch (Yes, dogs are allowed at this market)!!

We arrived about 10-15 minutes after they opened, which is at 9:00 am. Due to all the fires and the air quality index being 154, there were not as many vendors (I was told by a vendor that Meridian actually cancelled their Saturday market, due to the air quality issues). Still, there were enough to make it worthwhile, and we purchase salsa from two different vendors, some Huckleberry jam, some lavender, and my wife bought some earrings. I agree with other reviewers: the prices seem high for some items, for example, the jam I bought was $15 for one jar and the honey is $18 for a larger bear, $10 for a smaller one. The salsa was more reasonable, though I paid $9 for a 16 oz container. There seems to be ample parking and the vendors we interacted with were very nice and personable. I also would like to see more local produce stands, though the one I did see was, again, expensive. The produce stand on the south side of the 44 going west toward Linder is much more reasonable and they have a lot of selection. Still, we enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back.

Today was my first time at this location. Went to the REKO-Nampa location a few weeks ago. Noticed some of the same vendors at both locations. When you arrive you really have to pay attention as there are not a ton of vendors (at least, not yet) and vendors sell out of the back of their vehicles. I had a difficult time at both identifying who I bought from online. Here's the 411 on vendors I bought from in Nampa and Meridian. The Meridian location has 5.6k members (so, I hope to see this market grow) The Nampa location has 1k+ members Wufyre Coffee Roasters Offers two types of coffee. I got the Sumatra. They had a separate vehicle for dairy products, too. Not sure if these two are connected though. Hipwell Ranch Wanted to order meat from them, but I waited too late. All natural and grassfed. Housewife at Heart Miranda had take & bake items and tamales. I just bought her Chicken & Potato tamales today. Can't wait for dinner tomorrow night! Ohana No-till Farm I got all kinds of salad items from them, plus their raspberry jam. Note: To order from them, go to their web site, ohananotillfarm.com, NOT the Facebook page. They delivered it to my house at no charge! Don't know if they do this all the time, but BONUS! These are the only vendors I've bought products from (so far) - not to say the others are probably amazing, too. This is a wonderful way to support our local businesses and get fresh and healthy food, too. Many do appreciate if you pay in advance of pick-up - most use Venmo. They list payment options and such in their weekly posts. Do note: Covid pre-cautions are not being followed by most vendors or customers. No one is hassling each other for it. Folks, Faygo® is the reason for the downfall of society. Case in point? The Insane Clown Posse. But if one looks beyond the Faygo® - and the perpetual blanks on the shelves of Stonehenge's Shaker-style pie cabinet - there's a lot to like about Stonehenge Produce. And although this location on Overland pales in comparison to the original Stonehenge white barn on Fairview, the Overland Stonehenge does a fair job of providing locally- or regionally-sourced produce, dairy, eggs, meats, and treats, to residents of Boise's southeast side. Such services are of particular utility between Halloween and April, when the farmers markets are hibernating, leaving Stonehenge as one of the only places to procure farm-fresh eggs. And for those trying their hand at cheesemaking, Stonehenge carries Cloverleaf whole milk and Natural Farm Fresh raw milk. I also take out-of-towners to Stonehenge for local honey, spice blends, pastas, and jellies. My main issues with Stonehenge include the remarkably short shelf life of their produce (my bosc pears liquefied within two days of purchase), and their lack of fresh cuts of meat (all local meats at Stonehenge are frozen). I can overlook the Faygo®. But if ever a Detroit-style coney island opens up in Boise, consider my bags packed. *** CASH OR CHECK ONLY ***
