Everytime I'm in town, I try to make my way to this place. I love how the oxtail just falls off the bone. Meat pies are delicious but you need to get there earlier before they sell out. Small restaurant but regardless if you choose to dine in or takeout, I think it's worth the price. Dining in allows you to enjoy the reggae music. Service is friendly. However, you will need to prepare to wait for your food. It may not be the quickest but you can't rush good food. I will be returning on every visit.
Got takeout from Reggae Pot as I have been wanting to try. I got the Jerk Chicken with Macaroni and Cheese and Rice with kidney beans. I also got the Beef Pate. This is my second time trying a Pate it was very flat not as full as my other try at another place. I'm not really a Jamaican connoisseur so not sure which is the right way to Pate - full or flat. The outer crust was flaky and good. The jerk chicken was spicy, the chicken was a little overcooked and some pieces dry but not bad. I really liked the Mac n cheese and the rice was just ok. I'd be curious to try in person and other items.
This place is its own entire vibe. The walls are covered in reggae memorabilia, images of famous reggae artists, and history of reggae music. And of course, reggae music is playing the whole time. The food is great. I had the jerk chicken with rice and peas. It was excellent. The flavor was great, and the meat was tender and juicy. It also came up super quick. Many of the dishes are on the pricier side. The dish I had was one of their cheaper options, and it was excellent. I work in this area on occasion and will be sure to drop by when I am in the neighborhood!
The food at Reggae Pot was not the best Jamaican cuisine that I've had. I had been wanting to try the restaurant for quite some time. I drove over on my day off and decided to experience it. The people working there were very friendly and kind. The ambience was definitely rooted in, Jamaican history. The restaurant was clean and had a great feel to it. Though it is located far from my home I still wanted to check it out because I had heard good things. I decided to stick with the most common dish which was jerk chicken, rice & beans as well as fried plantain. I ordered my food to go. When I got home, I tasted the chicken which was more a tangy bbq flavor, it was not spicy. I expect jerk chicken to be spicy, it tasted more like a seasoned barbecue glaze instead of the jerk flavor. The rice and beans were pretty bland. The rice was cooked well and the beans were nice, but they didn't compliment each other. The fried plantain was the best part of my meal. I've never known anyone who could mess up fried plantain. Overall, it did not excite me, and that will be the last time I eat at this restaurant.
YUCK! I threw that shi right in the trash the lady up front had a nasty attitude. She shouldn't work in a restaurant if she doesn't wanna be bothered by people. I asked her what was good she said everything good. Next time someone asks you that you can give a recommendation of what most order or what's ur favorite. The food took like 40 mins and my sandwich was cold!!! Only thing hot was the dang fries. Mind you this sandwich was $19.... $19 of nastiness one nice thing to say the ambiance was nice and they were playing reggae music.
I love Jamaican food. It's definitely my favorite kind of Caribbean food! I'm a frequent visitor to another Jamaican spot in Denver, but someone recommended I try this place -- so I did, and I absolutely loved it! I just wish it was closer to me -- I'd be a regular for sure! Service here is super friendly and nice. Makes you feel right at home. Plus the menu is extensive, they seem dedicated to keeping all options available daily, and they're open Sundays -- so we're already off to a better start than most Jamaican places I've been! The goat curry and chicken curry are my faves here (super tender and flavorful). The oxtail is a close runner-up too. Perfectly cooked and so delicious. So I highly recommend those options, as well as the beef patties and classic sides like cabbage, plantains, and rice & beans! Oh, and I love the take-home scotch bonnet hot sauce they sell!
It has been a long time since we tried Jamaican food. We moved from one of our favorite places (still remember you Indianapolis Patties of Jamaica) So when on the outlook for something to try on a day the daily WAH grind of staring at a computer and talking for hours. . .we decided to hit up Reggae Pot . . .and we are so glad we did We first started with a Jamaican patty. now I do miss the spicy little sauce they had at Patties of Jamaica - I did find the patty excellent and crispy (i didn't ask for a dipping sauce) Yet my favorite part was the Curry CHicken. The Curry Chicken at Reggae Pot is awesome, and better yet you get a variety of sides to choose from. The chicken is perfectly seasoned with a blend of Jamaican spices and curry powder, resulting in a complex and amazing flavor - that is unique as well. We both got a lunch special, and Reggae Pot's lunches are served with a choice of sides, including steamed cabbage seasoned with spices, ripe fried plantains, potato salad, veggie salad, macaroni salad, golden brown fries, or French fries.
The food here is really good. A well balanced level of heat and spice that satisfies the expectations of such an establishment. We had the Pork BBQ Ribs and The Goat Curry with Roti. I can taste a lot of the ingredients in this BBQ sauce which I am pretty sure is made in house. Very tasty. For the BBQ Ribs, the meat is super tender with the right amount of fat left behind. Yes, that's right, I said fat. ;) The Goat Curry is excellent. A warm blend of rich spices, and again a well balanced heat. There was an ample amount of Marrow Bones in this curry if you like that. I do! I had the green salad and cabbage as sides. The salad was fresh and crisp and the cabbage a perfectly well seasoned al denté. Also we got both desserts which look absolutely amazing! This is located in an unassuming shopping center. We drive by this area all the time,but we never end up in this specific shopping center. I've had this place booked marked for a while and decided one afternoon that we needed to try it. We came during lunch hour and there is a great selection of dishes I've never tried before. We opted for the curry goat and jerk chicken. I had the rice and plantains for my dish and my husband got rice and Roti. We received our food quickly and they were large portions. The jerk chicken had good flavor, but wasn't quite as tender as I thought it'd be. The plantains were crispy on the outside and soft and sweet on the inside. The Curry goat was definitely where it was at. Super tender and packed full of flavors. It also wasn't gamy either. It was delicious. We had some leftover for the next day and it was still very good. We are so glad this place is so close to our home, we will be back to try out more of their menu.
In town from Houston and decided to check out the Jamaican cuisine Chicken Curry Patty - 5 stars Juicy and flavorful chicken. The patty had the right amount of crunch Oxtail - 3 stars. The meat wasn't fall off the bone tender and lacked gravy/seasoning Rice & peas - 3 stars. Rice was very fluffy and airy. Lacking on seasonings Cabbage - 3.5 stars. I loved the crunch. Just wanted more flavor. I think being a southerner we have a little more flavor/salinity to our foods. I'd pull up again for sure
Best Jamaican food in the Midwest. Honestly I love this place so much the food is so flavorful. I am new to Denver and as a foodie, the scene out here is very small compared to Houston. However, This is definitely a gem. Walk in, they have the music playing the and it is a very clean open space which is nice. I've brought multiple friends of mine from Houston here when they have came to visit me or have had to order takeout because I needed them to have hope that there is actually good food out here in Denver LOL. Not only is the food packed with amazing authentic Jamaican seasoning what the customer service is superb. My friend who is used to the not so friendly Jamaican spots in Houston was even skeptical about the food because they were that nice LOL. Now let's talk about the food... As a person of color who knows that Caribbean seasonings can be misinterpreted into a "less is more" main stream restaurant ideology (unfortunately) ... I will say with great pleasure that the mac & cheese is bussin. It's so good that my kid hast to scrape his plate every single time and I have to steal bites when he's not looking. My kid who is not a fan of vegetables must less cabbage will actually have some of mine and actually enjoy it. The curry goat roti is some of the most tender and flavor pack to meat I've ever had. I could probably go on and on about the different things I've had from here... But I'm not going to do that. Just know anything you order, you will not be disappointed. I will (obviously) most definitely be back.
First time trying Jamaican food, and this quaint little place did not disappoint, walk up counter to order the gentleman behind the counter, suggested the right food for us. Seat yourself, they bring the food out to you and you can just enjoy a quiet conversation and delicious food. We arrived just as they opened, by 11:30, there was a line out the door so they're doing some thing right! This establishment is clean and seemed to be family owned and operated. The ox tail was delicious, super tender and the sauce was to die for! Nice little place for lunch when you don't have a ton of time. read more

Wow this place is a gem! We were looking for somewhere to eat and stumbled on this by chance. First we ordered mango-passion fruit and guava-pineapple juices which were delightful and fresh. We also ordered the spicy beef patties. They were delicious, perfectly flakey, and extremely well seasoned but not too spicy (I'm usually a wimp when it comes to heat). For my entree, I ordered the chicken curry with roti and my husband ordered the goat curry. Both were melt-in-your mouth delicious with just a touch of heat. Our entire meal was perfect and will definitely be back again. read more

The food was fresh, flavorful, immaculate--and abundant! I never need a box for lunches, but this time I did. The curry was extremely tasty without being the kind that'll come dancing out of your pours an hour later. The macaroni was cooked perfectly, both the cheese and the salad. Also, I'm not usually a cabbage fan, but I threw caution to the wind at tried it, without regrets. I'm extremely happy with my meal and I hope more folks will go support this restaurant. Sometimes the best time of day is when you sit down and get yourself some jerk chicken and a champagne soda while you're listening to reggae. I'm glad that the Reggae Pot offers such a laid-back atmosphere & such delicious food. Service is a little slow but it's all home cooked food and they actually put effort into it so it's not that big of a deal. Everyone here is always nice. read more

OH...MY...LANTA!! Reggae Pot is a must visit! It's the best Jamaican food I have ever had the pleasure of eating in the US. Just take my word for it please, you have to come here ASAP! The menu is huge and I could literally come here 15 times and order something new each time. The food here is packed with all the flavors and spices! The family that runs this restaurant is so friendly and you can tell the dishes are made with love.. it's the reason why it tastes so phenomenal! We ordered the Oxtail w/ Steamed Cabbage and Fried Plantains and Curry Goat with Mac & Cheese and Fried Plantains. The Oxtail was fall-off-the-bone tender braised with butter beans, big chunky potato, and carrots in a flavorful deep gravy with a flavor profile that would send you straight to heaven! The Curry Goat consists of fresh goat meat (no gameyness at all) marinated in the finest Jamaican spices, onions, pimento seeds, garlic, thyme, curry spices which are all cooked to perfection. These two dishes were so good... I am still dreaming of it today. The Steamed Cabbage with spices and the Mac & Cheese was so creamy and cheesy, you can't wrong with either of those sides. The Fried Plantains were really good as well, perfect hint of sweetness to accompany your savory dish. The restaurant is very clean and organized- the only thing worth noting is that it took a little longer to get our food, not super super long but a little longer than usual, but who cares when it's this good?! In certain cases amazing food is always, always worth the wait- just make to give yourself some extra time when visiting this restaurant. I can't wait to come back here! If your looking for a meal that is just packed with flavor Reggae Pot is the place for you! We ended up ordering the Oxtail and Curry goat both were amazing! The Oxtail stew was packed with a variety of spices and could not have been better, it even came with some carrots and potatoes. We chose to get some plantains and cabbage on the side both were prepared perfectly and were really good. The Curry Goat was also delicious and had a good amount of potatoes! I really enjoyed how both of the dishes used meat attached to the bone it really added to the flavor! Could not have been happier with the taste of both meals a must try if your in the mood for Caribbean food. The only thing to note is it took about 30min to get our food it was definitely worth the wait but something to remember in case your in a rush to eat. read more

We decided to try this restaurant tonight since it was near the house & our neighbor had recommended it. We started with soup & patty's then we each had an entree. We were blown away with the flavors & how delicious the food was. The portion sizes were also very big. The staff was so friendly which is more uncommon these days...we will definitely be returning customers & highly recommend you try this restaurant. read more

Closing off restaurant week I was craving some Caribbean food, since I'm Trinidadian I figured the closest thing would be some Jamaican food. I saw this place on fb and decided to check them out. Very friendly staff, cozy little spot and tasty food. I love extra spicy stuff so the food could have been a little more spicy but for the general public I'm sure that's the perfect level of spicy! Definitely recommend this spot if you're a native of any Caribbean Island and you missing that home cuisine. Will definitely be back! read more

Painfully delicious. The portions are large and the food is so flavorful and delicious that I was in pain leaving from clearing my plate of every bite. Worth it! We got the curry chicken and the jerk chicken with the Mac and cheese, rice and beans, and plantains. Everything was fantastic. The service was friendly and helpful since we were unfamiliar with most of the menu items. Also got the mango juice and it was also delicious. Sweet but not too sweet. Highly recommend! read more

This was delicious. It is tucked back in the building sections so hard to see from the road. But inside is so cute with the Jamaican vibes. The owner was very nice and explained some of the items on the menu. The jerk chicken was such a good flavor! 1 Star is all they deserve today, take note. My experience today was far from pleasant. This was my first time going to Reggae Pot today and I placed an online to-go order for the Oxtail Plate with the Mac and cheese, Rice & Peas, one beef Patty and one Jerk Chicken Patty. After completing my order online it stated that it would take 30 minutes. Giving the restaurant grace on the order and it being a Saturday I arrived within about 37 minutes. When I arrived I was told that it would take 10 more minutes, that was fine for me, at that time I was excited to try the food. There were two online orders already in from of me waiting for there food. By the time I received my food after waiting an additional 10 minutes I was told that they were out of Beef Patties and Jerk Chicken Patties. To me in the restaurant business you always have have the opportunity to reach out to the customer to let them know if something is wrong and they chose not too. Instead I drove across town for half of the food I requested. It's one thing if I walked in off of the street but it's like, come on...wasted my time. Did even apologize for the inconvenience or offer me something else. Just expected me to wait another 20 minutes.... At this time I am waiting for a refund and tbh I'm going to also ask for my Pattie refund and a refund on that ridiculous $2.50 processing fee when they can even produce your order on time. Hopefully I receive it, if I don't I will update my review and let you know. All and all I was able to walk out with at least the Ox Tails, just okay not much meat for the 5 you receive for $24. The mac and cheese was dry and unflavored paired with that extremely dry rice and peas. I won't be coming back, I can make better food at home. There aren't many black owned businesses out here and this was disappointing. For the people that don't mind waiting half a day for there food, do them the decency to update your online orders so people can actually pick up and go with what they actually ordered. Stop the bull and take off that processing fee when you're already changing over $20 a plate. There's a reason why they aren't on DoorDash or Uber Eats. read more

Omg! I have been craving some oxtail and curry goat for about a week now so I finally got the energy to drive across town and pick some up. I have been a patron of this restaurant for a couple of years now BUT TODAY! this food hit every spot. The oxtail are so tender and flavorful! The rice is amazing , so good I should have gotten another side of rice! And the cabbage is amazing as well! I also got a side of curry goat which is also tender and flavorful. Came for lunch. Food was old and expensive. Ordered jerk chicken, bbq ribs and rum cake. Came out to be $48. Jerk chicken was dry and old. BBQ ribs dry and old. They put on a jerk sauce and that's about as far as the flavor goes. $6 Rum cake was dry and flavorless. One bite in the trash. The sides are bad also. If you want Jerky come here. read more

Amazing food, great customer service, and generous prices. We were amazed by the delicious authentic dishes from Jamaica. The beef patties are to die for! They have designed this restaurant in a way that you feel the real Jamaican vibe while sipping some great ginger beer. We were able to talk to the owner, Tamara. She was a down-to-earth soul with a vision to create the best Jamaican restaurant. I'm sure she's proud of her achievement. Don't forget to try their signature drinks! read more
