Honestly this place was great. I have been eyeing it for a while now, but today I finally tried it out. The jerk chicken was so tender and flavorful, and the sides were just as well cooked. Great price for the amount and quality of food given here. I will be back soon to try some other sides and the ox tail. This was the only spot in the food hall with a constant line, and now I see why. The chicken could've been spicer but overall meal was 9.4/10. read more

This is a new favorite lunch spot. I love Jamaican food, and unfortunately, there are not many options in Denver for when the cravings come. So how excited was I when I learned Just Kool, which used to be a food truck in Aurora, now has a brick-and-mortar spot in Denver! They're a Black/family-run business located in a food hall that has some other great options available, including Sonder for coffee. Great space for a casual lunch and large groups with plenty of seating inside and outside. I met the husband and he was nice as he answered my questions about the menu. I was impressed with the quality of the food here. Fresh, comforting, flavorful. I couldn't decide which I liked better, the curry chicken or the jerk chicken. Both are beautifully cooked, tender, and perfectly seasoned, not too salty or heavy. The rice and beans aren't mushy! The plantains and corn on the cob are scrumptious. And the beef patty is not too doughy or too rich. They have an assortment of Jamaican drinks that i can't wait to try--I had the sorrel ginger drink recently and it was tasty and refreshing. We had the jerk pork (small) and jerk chicken (small) Let me talk about portions..omg Im happy that we ordered a small because he loaded the plate and did NOT skimp on anything. Both the pork and chicken...meat was so tender and flavorful! Spices and seasoning were on point! The meat(s) were served on a bed of beans and rice (absolutely delish), cooked seasoned cabbage (so yummy), a fried plantain, and a piece of fried bread (not sure the correct name for it). Everything was tastey and delicious!! I was full but wanted to keep eating because it was so good!! Pricing is more than fair for what you get. Customer service was fantastic!! I'm definitely a fan of this food truck. I've had jerk chicken in many places throughout the Caribbean and theirs is every bit as good, though not nearly as spicy. You get a huge portion for the money, which is a rarity at food trucks. Your meat entree comes with a pile of rice and beans and a couple of whichever rotating sides they have that day - the most common are small ears of corn and slaw, though I've also gotten lucky and caught them on a plantain day. They've got the music going while you wait and it's a pretty legit Jamaican experience. There isn't a lot of this type of food in Denver so it's great to have a truck that brings it to us. read more

Having spent our elopement in The Bahamas, we ate at a little spot called the Jerk Shack daily. We loved our meals there so much we tried to get their recipe for their jerk-seasoning on multiple occasions. While we got parts of it, we never got the full real deal. Lucky for us we were grabbing beers at Mountain View Brewing and Just Kool Jamaican Kitchen pulled up to satisfy our need for delicious Jamaican cuisine. Star 1: My husband and I each opted for the jerk chicken and jerk pork combo plate with sides of mac salad and dirty rice. Yum! The jerk pork and dirty rice really stood out to me! Wonderfully seasoned and perfectly filling. Star 2: Location, location, location! Just Kool Jamaican Kitchen sets up shop curbside to sling their wares at a few local breweries and more frequently in Aurora off Tower Rd and Andes Cir. Star 3: Portions are generous! Our to-go containers were piled high with all the tasty eats they could hold! Definitely a little heavy on the sides versus the main event, but I'm not opposed to that! Star 4: The pricing is on point! Our two meals came to a mere $30 including tip! You just can't beat that. This is not authentic Jamaican food at all. I'm not sure if they are muting the seasoning or flavors because of the population, but this is NOT JAMAICAN FOOD. The jerk chicken was mushy and served in a sauce!!... jerk chicken is smoked, spicy and not in a sauce! This was terrible and closer to brown stew chicken. The curry chicken was horrible, the chicken used is cubed chicken breast and the curry looked like it was thickened with corn starch and discolored. I hate leaving bad reviews but I'm incredibly disappointed. Do not go here if you are looking for authentic, or even semi ok Jamaican food. I'm sorry but this is almost like imitation cafeteria food from someone who has never eaten Jamaican food. read more

So I haven't ever tried Jerk Chicken before this but i've heard many good things and I was very happy with the food. Fair price for the jerk meal, I think like $16 or $17 for like 4 pieces of chicken, a cabbage salad, fried plantains, and beans&rice. The sides were all excellent as well. 10/10 read more

This is a cool food truck off Tower and Hampden. Great service and people. The food was solid but not memorable, the Mac & Cheese was served cold, I also didn't know it was part of a Jamaican meal. The price was fair, it's hard to find Caribbean foods anywhere in Aurora so this was a pleasant find, I will take it! read more

This food truck is SO GOOD! Oh my! A sweet friend mentioned it this past week and so we decided to grab lunch on June 5, 2020 and have a socially distant catch up at a local park near the food truck's spot. The food truck is currently located near an empty field in a beautiful Aurora neighborhood by Tower Rd & S Andes Circle. You can't miss it! Brightly colored with two proud flags waiving. I ordered a combo plate. Definitely upgrade your plate for $5 more to add a second meat option. I got the Jamaican jerk chicken and curried goat. The plate lunch was served with a grilled corn, beans and rice. I'm from Hawaii and he packed on the rice and beans like a local spot in Hawaii would. The plate must have weighed a few pounds. It's loaded! Very generous portions! I also added the beef patty pastry ($3) and a Jamaican grapefruit soda ($2). The pastry was extra hot, FRESH and so delicious! I wish I got two more to have a snack later today. The grapefruit soda wasn't too sweet and it was super refreshing on a 92° weather day. The soda was like a sparkling grapefruit juice. I believe with my combo plate lunch, the pastry and a drink my meal was about $25 and then about $32 with tax and tip. However, I promise it's worth it and the portions are so generous that the meal is really like 2-3 meals. I was with a few friends so we took our plate lunches to a nearby park and enjoyed every bite! There was so much food in that plate I'll plan to eat it for dinner as well. The jerk chicken was so tender and loved the grilled flavors. I'm from Hawaii and grew up eating Filipino goat dishes. This curry goat hit the spot! It was so tender and well seasoned and went perfectly with the rice and beans. I highly recommend this food truck and can't wait to go back soon. I will definitely order the oxtail and Jamaican jerk pork next time. This food truck is NEW, re-opened June 2, 2020 and unfortunately had to close for 2 months prior due to the pandemic.
