If supporting a local thriving and yet unknown business is your cup of tea, then look no further and go here: Alpaca Chasqui Charbroiled Chicken. Describing this restaurant as amazing small business simply doesn't do justice. You have to utilize them and see it for yourself. Opened its door about a year or so ago. I noticed this place (I would say) about 6 months ago when I was at the liquor store (in the same shopping center) working my side hustle (sampling some products as a representative from the distributor.) I simply didn't have time that day so I had no choice but to reserve the opportunity to visit them for another time. I cannot believe that I simply let another 6 months pass by before I was finally able to utilize them today (Dec 7, 2025). On a sunny Sunday afternoon, it was way past the peak lunch time. The restaurant didn't have anybody dining when I stepped in. As I was furiously taking photos of its exterior from the overview of the front of restaurant to small Sunday special signage, I simply couldn't stop taking more photos of it once I was inside; it's quite cozy and cute! And it's all about Peru and alpacas!! I, of course, was warmly welcomed by a few workers at the ordering counter. The lady in charge was peppy and gregarious. She explained about the restaurant a bit. She then handed me several different menus from breakfast menu to drink menu to main (food) menu so I would know what the restaurant offers. The size of the restaurant is smaller but what they offer and serve is mighty! I told her I would need at least 5 minutes to peruse all the menus. I had time; there was no need for me to rush the process. At a place like this (South American cuisine), ordering an empanada or a few is a must. I've had empanadas from several different South American countries such as El Salvador to Columbia to Argentina to Nicaragua. It was my first time to experience ones from Peru. Yes, I simply could not resist the urge. My final decision was as follows: T. Aji De Gallina (Peruvian spicy creamed chicken stew) and one of the empanadas (I ended up getting a ground beef one even though I asked for a vegetarian one. This was okay as it was a simply mistake.) Aji de gallina: As I described above, this is a stew with chicken, rice and potatoes. This curry like stew is made with milk, peanuts and pecans. Simply state, exquisitely made with a subtle taste of peanuts. The chicken and potatoes were well-smothered in the creamy stew with a slight kick of spiciness. And when you eat it with jasmine rice like rice lightly seasoned with salt, a magic is created in your mouth to feel the warmth and savoriness. Simply and delightfully well-made dish to say the least. Ground beef empanada: Again, I ordered the spinach and cheese empanada but ended up getting the ground beef one. It was an honest mistake where it really didn't upset me. The excellent service by the lady upfront and the main dish's exquisiteness pretty much nullified the mistaken for me. And I found the ground beef empanada wonderful (the accompanying chimichurri sauce enhanced the whole experience.) Well, this also created a desire in me to go back there again soon and try other empanadas including the one I couldn't eat (spinach and cheese). This place is only a 15-minute drive from my southeast Denver house. For a quick drive that short, I can go here just about any time during my lunch break or after work. At my next visit, I will definitely try S. Seco A La Nortena (cilantro beef stew). And one of the empanadas for sure! I simply cannot wait for that opportunity. read more

Thought I'd try out this new Peruvian place in my neck of the woods. Loved the food presentation and dishware. The food is good. Could've been more flavorful. I feel like the dish I ordered was pretty weak. My mom said her steak bowl tasted like a Chipotle bowl and for the price wasn't impressed. The prices are a bit high for what you get too. Also, the tv screens don't display the full menu so make sure to snag a physical menu near the side of the ordering counter. And there was no ice in the soda machine. Seems like the place is still getting its bearings. There's also a bit of a language barrier when asking questions and ordering. Definitely helps if you speak a little Spanish! read more

Clean and cozy atmosphere - Check! Friendly service - Check! Tasty Food - Check! Waited for Alpaca Chaqui to open. Visited there tonight for dinner. The food was spot on with all the flavors. We tried a Beef Empanada and OMG! I want more. Their dish Aji de Gallina is now a new comfort food for me. My husband had the Chicken Chaufa and really enjoyed it. I took a bite of the plantain in his dish and i wish they had that as a dessert offering. The lady at the register was so warm and welcoming. She made sure we understood the menu and made some suggestions. I love the decor and music of the restaurant. Very cozy. I know I will be back. More items on the menu I want to try and those empanadas are already calling my name. read more

The flavors wrapped in the Chicken Saltado is rich and savory. I couldn't stop. Exceptional! We also had a 1/4 white meat chicken which was seasoned and cooked to perfection. I love the atmosphere and grateful welcoming host who must have been the owner. Get over here! read more

On Halloween, Sharon and I desperately needed comfort food, and we found Alpaca Chasqui Grill, an unpretentious little place in the Buckley Square shopping center. The vibe is quaint and cozy, and the staff are ultra attentive, friendly and professional. It's a tad pricey, but as always, you get what you pay for. We began with an amazing beef empanada--gone before pictures could be taken!--then shared a half grilled chicken, black beans on rice and fried sweet plantains. They have the best what I would call "Homecooked" meals. I got the cilantro beef stew and my husband got a chicken platter with rice and yucca fries. I have been waiting for a year for this shop to open. Finally it's open, maybe for a week now. Small seating area with about 8 tables. Seat yourself. No wait staff , yet. Nice and clean, Peruvian music playing in the background. You may get sticker shock when you see the prices. But, with the price of chicken, it's reasonable. A few walk in customers left after seeing the price. Everything is cooked to order, so it will take a while. Our order consisted of a 1/4 Piece of chicken, my wife had the breast and I had the thigh and leg. each had a nice portion of a rice pilaf and fries. And the grandson had the pork sandwich. Our chicken had been pre cooked and the heated up when it was served. The meat was not hot and juicy, just warm, and the breast meat was dry, and not juicy. So, the chicken for this particular order may be pre cooked , and heated up. ( Not what We were expecting) Although the pork sandwich was very tasty. I definitely would like to try other things on the menu, and make another review. For this area of town, the price point is much to high, and his menu pricing needs revision, but so he can make a make a profit. Since they have just been open for a week or so, I would like to see how it is in 3 months or so. Time enough to work everything out, and revise things as needed. I would like to try his pastry items, they looked very tasty. For our meal we paid $81.00 + tip, pretty expensive for chicken for 3 people. This shop would be a once in a month thing, maybe two. Delicious Lomo Saltado. And the Inca Kola was a plus (tastes like cream soda). Went here before at trip to Peru and can confirm now that their food is authentic. They just need to add cuy (guinea pig) to the menu. read more

Ordered take out! The lomo saltado and a chicken soup! The lomo saltado was very well seasoned , enough meat and fries. The soup was good, weird with the noodles but had a good flavor. Also ordered their pastry with caramel inside and were heart shaped, definitely can tell those were handmade with love! Will order soon read more

We ordered the Lomito sandwich and one of the grilled steak dishes, along with an apple empanada. The Lomito sandwich was the star of the meal, with accompanying French fries in their own special sauce, which was absolutely delicious. The grilled steak was cooked to perfection, and came with beans and rice, and a very light, tasty salad. Each meal was filling, but we did not feel they were the least bit heavy. Finally, the apple empanada was made with a delicious bread, hot from the oven, and featured powdered sugar on top. The Lomito sandwich also featured a delicious bun, homemade. There were three of us for lunch, and we all were very impressed. It's so nice to find such accomplished cuisine in the suburbs. We heartily recommend this place. Delightful dinner at Alpaca Chasqui! I had quarter chicken dinner with fried yuca and maduros. So fabulous!!! Brought back find memories of when I lived in Peru.
