This was, without a doubt, the best meal we've had in Gatlinburg. I ordered the oxtail, and my wife had the jerk chicken. The oxtail was absolutely phenomenal--large, meaty pieces that were fall-off-the-bone tender, covered in a rich, dark, thick gravy that was packed with flavor. I had it with peas and rice and potato salad. The potato salad was some of the best I've ever eaten, and the peas and rice were anything but bland. There was a unique seasoning in them that I couldn't quite identify, but it elevated the dish to another level. When I mentioned how much I loved the gravy, the owner brought me extra oxtail broth to pour over the rice. It was incredible. My wife's jerk chicken had outstanding flavor. It had just the right amount of heat--enough to let you know it was authentic jerk chicken, but not so spicy that the average person couldn't enjoy it. Her fries were hot, fresh, and perfectly crispy. As if that wasn't enough, the owner brought me a sample of the curried goat. Wow! It was absolutely amazing. The blend of spices was perfect, the flavor was rich without being overpowering, and the meat was so tender it practically fell off the bone. I'll definitely be ordering that next time. The atmosphere is just as enjoyable as the food. Reggae music plays in the background, creating a relaxed island vibe without feeling overdone. It's a great little restaurant tucked away from the crowds, and one of the biggest bonuses is that they have their own parking lot. No paying $20 to park and then walking half a mile to eat--you can park right in front of the restaurant. I had a feeling this place was going to be special the moment we pulled in and saw smoke rolling out of the smoker outside. That's when you know it's the real thing. The owner was one of the friendliest, most courteous people we've met. He genuinely cared that we enjoyed our meal, and his hospitality made the experience even better. Great food. Great atmosphere. You have to try this place! Even if you've never had Jamaican food before! It was the best jerk chicken ( not spicy at all) and Mac n cheese I've ever had! It was soo good I ordered another plate to take home for dinner another night! And I want to go back one more time before I leave because it was THAT GOOD!! Finger licking good! The chicken was so tender! And the server offered me some gravy from the oxtail Brown stew to put in my rice and peas and it was to die for! It was so flavorful! Gatlinburg is so lucky to have this place! If I lived closer I would go all the time. The food was AMAZING! The chicken was seasoned perfectly and had the tastiest grill flavor. So tender it was falling off the bones. The sides were my favorite part, especially the rice and beans. I will crave that dish. The owner was extremely friendly, taking a moment to chat with us about soccer and his life. If you're in Gatlinburg, do yourself a favor - get off the main drag and eat lunch or dinner here. This place is really a gem. If you want some of the best food in town, come here. They have a beautiful outside seating area with a fire...hang out all night with friends or family with a few beers and some great beef, chicken, and more. Or sit inside and have a great environment that is clean and well decorated. And the chef and owner is one of the nicest guys you'll meet. Treat yourself and come here. Smelled the food grilling outside decided to go in and check out the menu. Me and the lady decided to stay and have dinner. She had the jerk hamburger with sweet plantains and rice and peas and I had the jerk chicken Philly with french fries and a side of rice and peas. Great food and service! We found this spot by chance during our visit for a Kickball tournament. Definitely returning ASAP for round 2. There is ample parking and seating inside or out. Menu is manageable. So food arrived fresh, hot and quickly. Smokers on the terrace set tye ambiance as you walk up. The owner is a very friendly young man. Give them a try. Was in Gatlinburg for a few days and came across Reggae Jam. Had the oxtail rice N pea and the jerk burger and the food was amazing. Rice with pigeon peas a must have oxtail juicy and fall off the bone. Service was great for a Jamaican restaurant and nice ambiance. read more
