A Friday pompany favorite! Keep coming back, ready in 20 minutes, nothing more comforting than black beans and rice!

Food is absolutely amazing. Myself being Cuban, the bistec empalizado took me back to my grandmothers cooking. Thank you ! It was great ! Everyone I'm with is completely satisfied

The service was great, the restaurant was clean and the food was delicious! The Cuban sandwiches were a hit. Yuca fries has mixed reviews- I thought they were delicious, my daughter said they were not as flavorful as she thought they would be. Vice versa on the black beans. They were definitely good, but I thought they lacked additional flavor and my daughter was a fan. Overall, we definitely recommend trying Smokies Cuban Cafe.

    Pork roast sandwich

Quick table and service was great. The food is delicious and made quickly. Bread is great. Pork is so good. I had a beef and cheese empanada as well and it was so good. I'll be back.

    Cafe con Leche - perfection!

We visit this restaurant at least once (usually more than once) on any trip to Pigeon Forge. The food is always exceptional! Cafe con leche and toast followed by palomilla with sweet plantains ... it's all I ever want. Pastries are amazing! Service is superb, always.

Azúcar From the first bite to the last it was an explosion of cuisine at its finest in my pallet All sides were cooked to order food was hot and flavorful Service was pleasant the waiter was very friendly and patient He gave us his recommendations Restaurant was clean as was the restroom Latin Music was playing in the background I could over hear other guests bragging on how their meal was above their expectations The restaurant was decorated with Cuban pictures and decor Definitely the best meal I had on my trip to the Smoky mountains and the prices were reasonable Absolutely recommendable if your pallet loves Cuban cuisine The black beans were cooked with the pork broth amazing They have a cilantro garlic sauce for a dip perfectly paired with the yuca fríes I am going back for a Cuban coffee and guava empanadas before I head back to Texas

What a perfect find!!! Tucked in the back off the main strip, one would miss it if not looking for it. The true value of this place was not just with the food but with the coffees. The strength, temperature and sweetness of the Cortadita and cafe con leche made us order another round!!!! The Cuban sandwich was LOADED with meat. It was perfectly pressed and the bread had that crunch when you bit into it. They were out of the desserts since we came right before closing. Next time we will get an extra sandwich to go for the long drive home.

I ordered the Cuban sandwich and beef and cheese empanada. Almost as good as the most reputable Florida Cuban restaurants. Menu and prices have changed significantly from the pics I looked at before arriving. Super clean establishment. If you're craving Cuban, this will do.

The one who suggested this restaurant told the other right upfront that it's the best for this area of North Carolina and it is not Cuban food of Miami. The restaurant was busy, and of course tables are limited because of its size, but the owners were very accommodating and we appreciate that very much There is a back parking lot with three spaces, but they are for pick up only but we were given permission to use one as we had a handicap individual with us. My Cuban sandwich was just fine and tasted just like the one I had in Miami in my opinion as a gringo and everyone finished their meal without sending anything back so I would say the food was pretty good The restaurant is a order at the counter and staff will deliver it to your table. There is one unisex bathroom for All and I'm not sure about everyone else but of course our service dog was allowed. I did see two other dogs so I can only assume that pets are allowed as those two were not marked as service animals at all. I cannot think of anything that would cause me not to give this Restaurant a full five star rating

As a South Florida native who is obsessed with Cuban food, I had read the reviews beforehand and was really hoping they would live up to the hype and thankfully, they absolutely did. Walking into this place felt like a little piece of home while on vacation. The fresh pastelitos, tostadas, house-made rum cake, and a cafecito were exactly what I didn't know I needed that day. Everything is made in-house, and you can taste the care and authenticity in every bite. Finding such great Cuban food in another state truly felt like the cherry on top of the trip. Aesthetically, the space is full of Cuban pride. The walls share the story of how the Rum Cake Lady came to exist, and it's genuinely beautiful to read about the journey behind the business while you're there enjoying the food. What stood out to me the most was how busy the place was long lines and lots of traction yet the staff remained friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout it all. That kind of hospitality makes a big impression. Thankfully, after a quick search, I discovered there's another Rum Cake Lady Cuban Café location not too far from the cabin we were staying at in Blue Ridge. Of course, we had to go back this time for dinner ordering the classic media noche! If you're visiting the area and craving something authentic and full of flavor, this place is a must. I'm really hoping they continue to expand, because what they've created is truly special.

I ordered the Pork Arepa and Yuka Fries. The food was delicious - fresh, very flavorful and well balanced. The staff was friendly and did not act annoyed at us for bringing kids along. We added escabeche (perfect blend of flavors!) and tostones (with delicious sauce). We needed dairy free as well, so sadly no queso for us, but please enjoy it if you aren't dairy free. We got our order to go, and it was packaged well and stayed hot until we got back to our hotel room, even though it was quite cold outside. This is a tiny place with maybe 8-12 barstools. It is squeaky clean and decorated so nicely. The owner has a great sense of humor as evidenced by his posted hours by the door. Everything is gluten free. I wish this was in my hometown. I would eat there several times a week. I will certainly return when I am in Asheville again, and am even considering placing an order on my last day here to take home for dinner. One thing to note: street parking only as the lot next to the building belongs to another establishment, and they don't play with you parking in their spots.
