    Today's menu

Today my daughter and I shared the PR Cuban and PR Explosion, both delicious and very different from each other. The sauce on the Explosion is like nothing I've ever tasted (in a great way). I got the hot sauce on the side since I don't like too much spice (oh boy it's spicy) but I couldn't get enough of it. Apparently the menu changes, so I'm looking forward to what I find on my next visit.

Traveled over 14 hrs from the NY city area to find an amazing food truck in Johnson City. Found a very happy crew; the air engulfed in a delish aroma of mix Peruvian/ Puerto Rican food. While I waited to be serve I overheard comments of everyone anxious to order: all A+. When my time came, I had a chance to pleasure every clusters and nerve endings of my tongue and sense of taste. To the point that I had to come the next day to try something else. Good portions- good price, and overall great gourmet experience. My complements to the chef!

Discovered this place two years ago, and I'm SO glad I did. My partner is from Puerto Rico and introduced me to to the rich cuisine, years back. I joke that him and his family have ruined me when it comes to food authenticity. Many of my favorite Caribbean and Hispanic food joints tasted like garbage after having the real deal But, let me tell you! This place does not disappoint. The food is so full of flavor, I have yet to try anything that is not impeccable. The menu is constantly changing, which makes each trip a new experience. It quickly became my favorite restaurant, food truck, joint, whatevs. Not to mention, David, the owner, is one of the funniest, most creative, and nicest dudes you will ever meet!

This was the menu for today. I'm new to Johnson City and love this type of food. It really didn't disappoint! The Jerk Chicken platter was amazing and so much food. Couldn't get close to finishing it. You could easily share this between 2 people. Highly recommend this place and I will be back. Can't wait to try everything on the menu and see what else they come up with

Excellent place we love it. First time try empanadas, hotdog and beef jerky taco. This place is a must try.

The truck came to work and I had the Jamaica jerk chicken. It was very good and a big serving too. Look forward to them returning soon.

Chicken fajita (top) and chorizo gyros. Chorizo was amazing.

Oh, wow, I knew I was in for a treat before I tasted the first bite. I have been meaning to try Red…read moreLlama for a few months and tonight finally did. I got the today's special of pesto pasta with grilled chicken. Luckily I do not live far away because the smell in my car on the way home was torture to just smell and not taste it too. And when I did get home I was not disappointed. So fresh tasting. Pesto unlike any I have had before but definitely want again. The pasta, which was cooked al dente spot on, was sort of like slightly chunky spaghetti, great to twirl with a fork and spoon and it held the sauce well. The chicken had been pounded thin then grilled and was not the least bit dry. It was perfectly cooked. A little container of beigeish sauce came with it that had a little bit of kick to it. I liked it but the pesto didnt need anything extra. It was perfect as it was. I wont even try to describe the flavor of either sauce except to say they were both unique in a very good way. They smelled amazing and had nice complexity. After dinner I stepped outside for a few minutes and when I came back in my house smelled so good from the leftovers sitting on the counter. Yes, the portions were big enough for two meals for me so I get to look forward to all of these tastes again tomorrow. Red Llama is a food truck, not a brick and mortar but don't let that dissuade you from trying it. The truck is painted a bright happy lime green and the people in it are very nice too. They are parked on Maple street so it is the perfect location to grab and go, maybe stop at Johnson City Brewing to get a brew, sit and enjoy some of the best of JC.

Chorizo was just across the street from our hotel so we overlooked it at first. I now regret that. The ambience, the food, the experience. Everything was great. We could've easily eaten 3-4 meals here! This is a menu worth exploring. Interesting S American cuisine. The four people in our party all ordered something different and tried to decide who ordered the best meal. The Indio plate had so many different flavor profiles, but came together for a savory meal. We all left stuffed with food still on our plates. Too many choices to want to split a plate, but portions are bountiful. Great value, diverse menu and friendly staff! Chorizo is an Asheville MUST try!

There's just something so charming and inviting about it that draws you in. The true highlight, though, was the hospitality. On our first visit we had Rusty, and on our second we had Alex. Both of them were absolute gentlemen and total sweethearts. We genuinely enjoyed chatting with them , they made us feel so welcome and gave fantastic recommendations. Their warmth and attentiveness really elevated the entire experience. And the food? Absolutely amazing! Everything we tried was delicious. We would highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Asheville. If you're lucky enough to have Rusty or Alex as your server, you're guaranteed an exceptional experience from start to finish.
