My friend and I opted to go to Daisy Nails and Spa for our manicures (removal and shellac manicure for me, a shellac mani and pedi for my friend) on a Friday afternoon. I called about 3 weeks prior to the appointment as I wanted to make sure we got our manis together or around the same time. The staff were prompt to take my name and number down during the phone call. Day of our appointment, although we arrived on time we still had to wait about 10-15 min for our nail technicians. I probably waited a bit longer. The place was a little over half full and all the nail technicians were busy with other customers. My shellac removal and manicure took almost 1.5 hours long (usually would take me about an hour at another salon, however, I did have to wait a bit in the beginning). My nail technician was attentive and friendly. I had 2 split nails which she was aware of and took care to cover them up. She also listened to how I wanted to shape my nails and made sure I was okay with the length. Manicure wise, she did a great job! My friend was also happy with her mani and pedi services. If you pay cash you don't need to pay tax. They do however, accept credit and debit as well. Overall, good salon around the neighbourhood. It is a popular place so it does get quite busy, best to book an appointment ahead of time, especially on the weekends!

I didn't know there was a difference and they conveniently didn't take credit cards. I asked if there was a difference in conversion between USD and CAD and the lady said no difference. It was my first time in Canada so I was panicking looking through my purse and wallet and got $137 in USD and she said that she'll take that cash and to come back with $3 more USD later. I thought it was an expensive pedi and gel nails (very short French tip nails no mani) for the US but just though the Canada charges more. The owner has becme very rude and cocky over the past few months, is getting worse, and likes to gossip and insult the customers. In terms of the rest of the staff, I dont know what their problem or issue is, and I don't want to know. They can insult someone else. I would recommend to go elsewhere. They are better places to go that provide better quality, better customer service, where the salon is cleaner and newly renovated, there are places that have better pricing (I know as I have done my research the last few months before switching), other places have a better colour and style selection, other salons will do a design or ombre without making a big deal or refusing a simple request (not reject your request and get their other clients to post cheesy sticker designs placed on their nail and edit their google review afterward lol), other places appreciate their clientale, and there are other salons that do not insult you in Vietnamese behind your back while you are getting your nails done, gossip about you to their staff/clients in the salon, or people in the area to try and ruin your reputation. This place is rated a 4.7 on Google, but I disagree, after recieving this abusive treatment consistantly for the last six months, I would rate this nail salon as a 4.1, if that! Desperate that I was, I totally sucked it up and decided to just get them done from Lori's. I'm so glad that I did. My pedicure was great, my guy took time and patiently painted my nails (I had one of those colors where two coats wasn't enough). After my pedicure, I got a filling. They were impressed how long my nails were, while I just wanted to chop them off. My guy took his time with my nails, trimmed them to the perfect length and patiently painted them.
