    Elotes! Corn in a cup!
    Eman S.

I literally crave the corn in a cup from here (elotes). See photo below. The hot sauce is fair game for you to put on yourself so go at it if you like a little zing. It's around $3.50ish for a decent sized cup. The mangonadas are pre-made in the morning so they come frozen in plastic cups filled with chamoy. Not bad but not the best I've had. They run out of these sometimes if you come later on at night. You can find this place by traveling down seawall. If you see a deserted beach bar on the beach side of seawall, it's almost directly across from it. There's a big snowcone statue next to it. My negative is that this place is either always open or never...it's open late most days but this week, it was closed for like 3 days: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. When I've had a long day and want my elotes, I want them right then, not 3 days later! So the only way to know if it's open is drive by and check out the sign for the week.

Nice little stand. The elotes were really good and creamy. It was nice that it was near the beach. Stopped by while riding bikes. The only con is cash only. This place is really convenient when you are bike riding.

Good food, great service, at an awesome price! I ordered the beef soup and it was the divine. My sister had beef fajitas that smelled pretty awesome, but she wasn't down to share... So I'll take that as they were. The sour cream enchiladas however were very bland and lacking.

    My go-to order!

I've stopped here before for snow cones and fruit cups and those are okay but I have fallen in love with their aguas frescas and elote. The melon is my favorite! They're always cold and creamy and a little bit icy which I really enjoy. The corn in a cup is really good as well love it with a little bit of hot sauce. This has become a usual stop for beach days!

While there may be better Mexican food on the island, this is a solid choice when you're craving comfortable and familiar food.

It opens at 8 am, so we waited around outside until it opened promptly. It has two main dining rooms, one of which was being used for the breakfast crowd. A basket of really good freshly fried thin tortilla chips were given with a decent salsa. We were given a breakfast menu, which had many things I wanted to try. 3 Barbacoa Tacos a la carte ($9.75) - a lot better deal than the plate (2 tacos with rice/beans/potatoes for $11.95). The tacos were good, decent size on a flour tortilla with cilantro, raw onions, and limes. It was decent quality shredded beef: moist and tender with good flavor. Menudo ($9.95) - only served on the weekend, this version was big with a ton of beef tripe (a lot more than there was hominy, which I'm not used to). I like tripe, but this amount was too much for me. The broth was flavorful and rich, and a good remedy for the little cold I had been fighting. Ended up finishing maybe half of it (ate all the hominy though). You pay at the front. Service was friendly throughout, and by the time we were leaving, the place was filling up. Parking is street, and there was plenty of it in the area.
