The butter cake really impressed me- cake in a cookie! I do want to go back and try the churro cheesecake one as well!

Willy Wonka could learn a thing or two from the Baked Bear. My first impression when I opened the…read moredoor was the generous smell of freshly baked cookies and ice cream, which alone is worth the visit. The Baked Bear specializes in custom ice cream sandwiches. They bake their cookies fresh all day and offer a wide variety of ice cream flavors. You can mix and match different cookies and ice cream flavors to create your perfect ice cream sandwich. These customized sweet treats are beyond decadent; they make Godiva chocolate seem like street food from India. While I was ordering, I looked around and noticed many customers with their eyes rolled back in their heads and big smiles on their faces after just one bite. Sidenote: I went down to the Kroger a few blocks away and bought some dry ice, which I put in my cooler. I returned to the Baked Bear and ordered about ten different ice cream cookie sandwiches. We were having an event at our house, and these would make the perfect treat. I put the ice cream sandwiches in the cooler with the dry ice when I got home, quartered them, placed them on a plate, and put them in the freezer. After dinner, I brought out the treats. Everyone had the same reaction when they took their first bite: their chins went up, their eyes rolled back in their heads, and they had huge smiles on their faces. Everyone exclaimed, "Oh my God, this is great! Where did you get them?" When I told my friend I got them from the Baked Bear, he started laughing. I asked him why, and he said, "It's the name--the 'BAKED' Bear!" Ohhhh... lol. It's a verb! It made for a great evening. I wish they would make party plates like this in the future. This was such a fantastic experience. I wish it weren't so far from my house, but my pancreas is happy that it is! Take the time to go; it's worth the trip, and you will love it if you enjoy sweet childhood treats. Kudos to the Baked Bear for bringing something so needed to the Clear Lake area!

Anyways it was great then she comes to place the order at the table she knew I was walking towards her was going to say thank you and she just drops it at the table and left ..which that caught me off guard but it's whatever nothing hateful towards them it's just that I hoped and wished that the girls would treat the same to their women customers just likewise to the guy customers. I came here a few times and the ladies are the same way really weird towards the ladies but with men they wait until they turn around and tell them that they are thankful like I saw today a female worker towards a male customer. I mean each to their own, however again I wished that the female workers would give the same equal attention & be more attentive and polite with their female customers, because with the guys they don't have to think twice. ps: they don't do anything for you to hate on them ( no caen mal ) by the way to the girl who served my tostilocos, i wished that she would of put more sause !! like past times I came

The service was quick and friendly. Most importantly our italian ice was tasty! (Come on good and faithful mango and good and faithful strawberry). If you haven't experienced Rita's, the best time would be after being in the heat, yummmmm!

That being said, I feel like the consistency of the Italian ice at Rita's is almost a mix between shaved ice and gelato/icy sherbet, and Im for it This spot is in a prime location right across from the beach at Galveston. On a nice sunny day walk on over to Rita's for a cool, refreshing, and delicious treat The interior is clean. It did have an older almost diner vibe. Or maybe more like like a beachy Dairy Queen, but more vibrant, and not depressing. There's both interior and exterior seating to choose from Their core competencies are Italian ice and custard, and there's plenty of varieties of both. They have a menu, and there's also plenty of offerings advertised on the walls of the interior The staff were friendly, the service was quick and solid. I also think their offerings are fairly affordable Some tips: There isn't much in the way of parking, but we snagged a spot near Doc Holidays (next door). I would recommend the Gelati as it's a combination of custard and Italian ice. There's both sugars at the bottom and top. We got the mango gelati, and it was the perfect blend of creamy sweet with refreshing mango. As I mentioned, the beach is just across the way, so, take your treat to go and walk along the beach. But eat quick before it melts! Cheers!!
