Great team of trainers. Friendly yet professional atmosphere to keep your training sessions safe&fun. Reasonably priced considering this is a personal training gym where you train with one of the certified trainers every time you go in. Massage therapy, Nutritional advice, and training at one convenient location. Tom, Peter, Nader are owners of the gym& also main trainers you train with. They provide both one-on-one training and group training. Their group training is very unique. You're doing your personalized program in a group setting rather than everyone doing the same thing competing against each other. Your competitor is you from yesterday! Trainer-client ratio is never more than 1:3. Each of them having different specialty allows us coaching program clients to have more diversified, flexible program fit better for each individuals who are at different fitness levels.
Peter provides massage therapy& works with people who are previously injured very well. When I was feeling shoulder pain, he&Tom stretched me out and massaged the affected areas to lessen the pain&increase mobility. I was saved by them occasionally :) Tom is patient&observant. He is very good at finding out your weak points& help you improve those. I have a tendency to shrug because I have hard time using my back muscle to control movements. He saw that through from the beginning& we've been working on it. Now I feel I have much better control than before. I also have tendency to arch my back a lot which can hurt my lower back. He's been helping me fix that too. He's got your back, literally and metaphorically ;P Nader is an excellent cook. Nader&Tom are the nutritional advice-go-to guy. If you are having problem losing weight/body fat, or having hard time sticking to your diet, they will help you find better alternatives. Other trainers& most of clients there are also very welcoming &friendly, and you can fit right in right from the start :) They are fun and they will motivate you!
There're so many personal trainers out there now a days, but I find it hard to find a truly good honest one. With Reflex, I always feel my opinion, request or concerns are heard. They are always willing to communicate with you&help you find better alternatives, so the communication goes 2 ways rather than your trainer just telling you what to do. I can tell they sincerely care about clients' wellness. It doesn't matter which one of them you go to, Tom, Peter, Nader, they all listen to your concerns or whatever you have to say and help you get it resolved. And that's one of the things I really like about them. Another thing I really like about them is that your safety always comes first. They make sure you're doing workouts with the correct form and working on a proper targeted muscle group, so not only you're reducing risk of injury but also you can feel the progress faster! It varies by person, but I've lost 4% of body fat in first 2 months. I'm prone to injury, and after 2 knee injuries I had to give up on many things I used to love doing, but since I started training with them in March, I am injury free. I was able to complete two 15mile trail races and 20+ mile crazy hikes this year, and I feel much stronger and happier than ever, thanks to them! :)
So, people below and I all praise them, but the question you probably have is how good they really are, right? Let's see if I can give you some idea of how great they are.. I live and work in Torrance (I have local gym membership as well). Yet I still feel it's worth driving in LA traffic for about 1-1.5 hours(+ 40min going home) to just train with them several times a week! Need I say more? ;) Knowledgeable&Reliable; those are the word I would use to describe them, and thus, not only I but a lot of people keep coming back to them :) Thank you for reading my review& if you're still not convinced, I'd highly recommend to go check them out! You'll soon find out why people are so hyped up about them& also why I commute so far! ;) read more
