This place was an enormous disappointment. We came using a gift card for a couples massage and ended up spending about $100 of our own once tax and tip was left. In total we spend over $350 for a couples massage. It was 50 minutes and it was terrible. We go regularly for massages and have been to different places literally all over the world. This might have been the most we spent on a massage and the most disappointing. You can tell they have a routine they flow through with your massage. They don't listen to your body or your requests (I needed focus on my neck) as they go through their 50 minute routine. My husband said he could barely tell if the masseuse was massaging him or just patting his back. I was waiting for mine to ask if I was okay with the "pressure", which at that point was none, but she never did. They try to make the place bougie with beautiful locker rooms, with a steam room, and a "complimentary" foot soak. That's the only reason I'm giving an extra star. However that's not worth what your paying. You can create that same atmosphere in your home. Highly disappointed. I wanted to like this place so badly. read more

My friend and I had a much needed spa day. We looked forward to this day for weeks. Being busy with work and kids, it's not easy to get away for even a day. We spent the day enjoying the facilities. We both had massages with upgraded services. My therapist was amazing, my friend enjoyed her massage as well. We went in to the room after to enjoy a foot soak, which was a little odd. Both of us are average height, 5'4" and 5'5" and our feet didn't reach the foot soak tubs. That part was very awkward and less enjoyable than we had hoped. Our champagne and chocolates were very good. We were then told we can enjoy lunch by the pool. We walked down, only to be told the kitchen wasn't open, it's off season. So up to the restaurant we went. We had glasses of sangria, a salad and a burger. My burger was enjoyable, the salad, with chicken, for $24, was very small, and the sangria wasn't very good. On to the pool. The atmosphere was nice, the pool was pleasant and the drinks were tasty. Pool temp was perfect and we felt like we were on vacation. Went in to the hot tub, only to find the water hot, but no jets? Very odd. All in all it was a nice relaxing day. Would we go again? Maybe, only because of the pool and pool atmosphere. read more

I was very pleased with my visit to reflections by yesterday I chose an aroma therapy pedicure , and Sora was my Technician. She was wonderful I never felt rushed or pushed to find a color quickly she was very confident , pleasant, very professional and did a great job with my gel pedicure. She is also a wonderful massage therapist for my feet and legs were very happy afterwards! The salon was clean. The manicure and pedicure station was neat. I have been going to reflections spa since it first opened and I really never have had a bad experience there.Everyone has always been professional and pleasant. read more

Came for a massage through the golf and massage package. It was nearly impossible to get someone on the phone, but they're good about calling you back if you leave a voicemail. Arrived early and took advantage of their steam room. The massage itself was nice, not the best I've ever had, but good enough. I loved that I was then given a glass of champaign and chocolate and I had a chance to relax with a foot bath. There are only two showers, towels, qtips, and a blow dryer. I have my wedding booked at Ballyowen and thought using the one site spa services included hair and make up for the day of my wedding would be the best way to go. Unfortunately I was horribly wrong and very disappointed. First dealing with the wedding spa coordinator was a very frustrating experience and she kept telling me services were not available but my wedding date was. She was extremely unhelpful in getting everything booked and I eventually had to do so on my own through the spa directly. she also screwed up the booking of my hair and make up trail, which turned out to be a disaster. I was forced to pay for services that left me in tears. I never even received a make up trail. the stylist I was working with made sure to inform me that she did not have enough time to work with me properly but was would try to rush to get it all in. she made sure that I knew how busy she had been that day and how long she had already worked and could not stay late to work with me. she than did not listen to a word I had to say about my hair and what I wanted to do. she provided no guidance except to tell me my hair color was not right for the style. she rushed through doing a awful job that in the end I could have done a better job and left me in tears. I apologize for wasting her time because she made me feel like it was a burden and inconvenience to work with me as she rushed through doing her job instead of providing me the service that was expected and deserved because as she kept reminding me she really did not have the time to do this. I was then forced to pay for the horrible service and was left we no other choice then to find someone else to provide hair and makeup services for my wedding day with such short notice. I would not recommend them to anyone. I had scheduled my fiance a 50 min massage for the same time. they never confirmed with him what type of massage it was or for how long. they decided to provide him with a 100 min massage instead without our consent because it was not properly entered into the system. trying to contact anyone at the spa who can cancel services has been a challenge to say the least. they keep saying only one person can do it and she is not available ever, read more

I had a massage here this morning with Ashley. The massage was wonderful. I added on the aromatherapy scalp massage for $25. The locker rooms and amenities are also nice. When the massage was over I was taken to a room where you press your feet into Himalayan sea salt and then the chair spins around and you soak your feet in warm water. A nice way to end the massage. I have given this spa 3 opportunites and this is absolute LAST time I will waste my hard earned money, please read until the end. The facial was completely NOT worth the $175.00 charged. I been having facials for years; this was low quality and the first time a facial was not finalized with a neck massage- nothing. Goodness, I could get a nice neck massage after having my nails done for $25 at the local nail salon (also, please check the time when the massage/facial begins and ends; they are cutting at least 5 minutes off). I still gave her a nice tip because that's who I am, I understand having to earn a living, and based on her performance, she was new - but none the less, I feel complelled to write the review after 3 disappointing experiences. To add salt to the wound, I was charged TWICE for the facial! The front desk repeatedly denied the double charge and only after I sent them a screenshot of the double charge, did they finally agree to reimburse me! I work hard to earn my money,I don't mind treating myself, but with service like this I would consider getting a Groupon for a fraction of the price. Zero stars. I'm livid I cannot even go into detail with how shitty this place is. The spa manager Daniela was absolutely horrible to me over the phone after my husband had a complaint regarding his massage. They obviously were not going to compensate us for his bad experience so I told her this instance may not happen if they had mentioned any of these "policies" on their website. Just know that if you want a massage that's more than just oil being rubbed onto your skin you have to be VERY SPECIFIC and they will charge you EVEN MORE than the ridiculous prices they already charge. Or better yet, go to goat yoga-the goats will give you a deeper and better massage than his technician did. As far as the actual hotel, they screwed us on pricing and it's been a week since we left and I have been calling to work it out everyday since to no avail. Really enjoyed the spa and stay package here. Red isn't a very relaxing color but the decor was very nice anyway. The steam shower was a nice touch before going in for the actual massage. I didn't realize the lounge was men/women separated and would have loved to know beforehand so I could have waited for my service with the person I came with. I would rate this spa no stars if I could. My therapist took the wrong customer. After 10 minutes of waiting a different therapist asked me my name. Her client apparently went with my therapist. By this point, I no longer had enough time for both services that I booked. I originally booked a scalp massage add on. The therapist stated "we pour oil on your head for that. Is that what you really want?" Um. No. I had a gift card to use (and since I will never come back), I needed to use as much as I could. I had to ask about other options to add on. The options presented were paraffin for hands or feet. I chose feet. She left me for 10 minutes. When she came back, she rushed through the Chardonnay massage. The oil was so thick and slimy that I was uncomfortable. She put the paraffin on my feet while the massage was still going on to save time (which defeats the purpose of an add on). THIS is how you do a spa! This was the best spa I've ever been to. The Art of Reflection massage was a little overpriced at $125 for 50 minutes, but I feel like the experience of everything else that you get and the professionalism of the staff totally makes it worth it. You get a locker with a robe and access to the steam room, which I took advantage of before and after my massage. The waiting area was very serene with little snacks, antioxidant water and herbal teas. The massage was excellent. My allergies started acting up that morning and I was really stuffy. Diana took the time to put eucalyptus on my chest, as well as on my feet with a warm towel, and it cleared me right up! I loved every minute of the massage. After the massage, you go to a room with about 8 chairs and a box filled with sea salt in front of your feet, and then a small tub on the other side of the chair. They encourage you to do this salt foot soak after your treatment, and offer you champagne or water as you unwind. I would love to come back here, even if I'm not staying at the resort. this place is terrible. i have literally been trying for the last 3 hours since noon today, friday dec 29th and the phone just rings and rings and no one answers. i even called the reservations hotline and pressed the prompts for reflections spa and it rang more than 15 times then i get a machine to leave a message on. my daughter got a facial that i paid $220 for and her beautiful face is destroyed. it was a microblade facial and the asthetician never bothered to explain to her that this type of facial would cause tiny red bumps to appear all over her entire face. she has beautiful and clear and perfect skin and the unprofessional and overpriced hacks there have ruined her skin. i got a massage that was $180 and it was sub par and painful and left me covered in bruises. i don't know how reflections spa can be rated so highly and claim to be the number one spa in nj when this place is extremely unprofessional, ridiculously overpriced and seems to have absolutely no concern for their clients. the whole experience was beyond disappointing, upsetting, and disgusting. do not go to this spa unless you want to be mistreated, ripped off, and miserable! read more

Masseuse (Sandra) was amazing but the front desk (Aurora?) was very unprofessional. The spa was very clean and COVID protocol was on point.

The service I received here was a facial and it was ok - the women who work the spa area are generally very pleasant and professional. The issue is the price for quality - $155 for a 50 min facial that is basic is way overpriced. But the reason I did it was to use the biosphere pool mid-week as part of the spa booking. Unfortunately the pool was a bust. While it is a nice pool and has the added benefit of being mostly adults, some of the staff working this area are negative and unprofessional. As an example, two of the female staff were moving chairs/tables by the outside warm pool area, complaining the whole time and loud enough for anyone in the outside pool to hear how "pissed" one girl was, and how she got mud on her boots (over the knee suede - odd for a pool area), and then scraping the outdoor furniture across the pavers making a shrieking sound. Then, more complaining inside, rolling eyes when she came out of the ladies locker room, just unprofessional behavior. Generally, staff are loud and yell down the hallways, doors are slamming, etc. Not the atmosphere I expected for the price tag of the spa. Plus, it bills itself as an escape, as a place to unwind and relax - not the case. read more

My family and I are semi-frequent visitors of the resort and spa (we come here at least 2 times a year) and we've had good experiences everytime. I've primarily gotten facials and my parents usually get massages (and love them). My facials have been great everyime (especially my wedding prep ones). The ambiance is nice but I actually like their elements spa even more in that category. Overall a good, relaxing experience. The only feedback I would have is that for folks who may not want champagne there should be another nice drink (other than water). read more

Excellent service!!! My husband and I had a couples massage and it was awesome. Michelle and Diane did a terrific job. We left feeling rejuvenated. There was complimentary chocolates and pastries. Along with tea and water with antioxidants. After our massages there was also a complimentary mineral salt foot soak. We sipped on champagne during our soak once again complimentary. I will definitely be back again. I have to also mention that the place was serene with calming music. Crystals hung from the ceiling and waterfalls along the walls. An awful experience. For our annual holiday party, I brought my staff to Grand Cascades Lodge, and Reflections Spa, for the night. An important piece of background here is that I own a spa and I was treating my own spa staff to this trip. Having been a professional esthetician both working in and owning high-end spas for many years, I was horrified by what we encountered here. Reflections Spa was the low-light of our visit...which is saying a lot. Where do I begin? We arrived and after a long wait at the front desk were shown into the locker room...the lockers all had keys which were difficult to operate. There were no spa attendants anywhere in sight, which was unfortunate, given the state of the locker room...there was no toilet paper and the jar of Barbicide which was on the counter, for the purposes of disinfecting the combs and brushes floating in it, contained combs and brushes which were filled with human hair! Filthy, not to mention against Board of Health regulations. So, our initial impression was not positive, but it was about to get a whole lot worse. Several of my girls passed through into the lounge, prior to myself and my fellow esthetician. There were still no spa attendants to be found anywhere. When my girls went to fix themselves a cup of tea, there was no hot water. In confusion, and with no guidance due to the lack of staff presence, they passed through into the middle of the lounge where they proceeded to pour each of us a glass of champagne. Sitting down to their own champagne, the girls placed the two remaining glasses of champagne on the counter (for myself and my other esthetician). By the time that we entered the lounge, someone had actually passed through the lounge and cleared away our glasses. Upon entering the lounge, my other esthetician decided to go and replace her glass. While she was pouring her champagne, a spa attendant with black hair came into the room. She was busy stuffing her own mouth full of the chocolates, which were intended for the clients. WITH HER MOUTH FULL OF CHOCOLATES, she snatched the glass of champagne from my employee's hand firmly saying, "No! That is NOT for you! That is for after your service!" I was absolutely mortified that I had brought my staff to such an establishment! Between myself and my other esthetician, we have more than 32 years of experience working in the spa industry...our clients come from six continents and include international celebrities...neither of us have EVER experienced anything like this in any spa that we have worked at, or attended, the world over. WE WERE DUMBFOUNDED. Services were unremarkable. Although she was kind, my massage therapist looked at me blankly when I asked her to focus on my Psoas muscle...not a good sign...she never worked on it at all, confirming my suspicion that she did not know what I was referring to. At the end of our service, we were ushered into the forbidden champagne room, where we were finally issued a glass of champagne. There were now 3 young spa attendants grouped together, eating chocolates and talking amongst themselves. After saying, "Excuse me?" several times, a blond girl with braids finally acknowledged me. I asked her if we could please have some chocolates (frankly, I was hoping to have one before the spa attendants ate them all). She replied saying, "We usually wait until later to give them to you." I responded saying that, "I would like mine now." She sighed with an eye roll and went to get the chocolates. Finally...check out. I asked to speak with the manager, as I was quite upset by this point. I was informed that he was at the other property. Do you mean to tell me that on a busy Saturday, with 13 treatments rooms full, there is no manager/supervisor on the premises?! What would happen if a client fell and hit their head?! To top it all off, they were unable to make change for tips. UGH! Now for the final insult...I took it upon myself to contact the spa after our visit. Again, I was informed that the manager was unavailable. Instead I was transferred to a woman who claimed to be a spa supervisor. She listened to my story, seemed appalled, apologized profusely and claimed that she was writing everything down for the manager; she also took down my name and phone number. Well guess what? It is now a full week later and, still, the spa manager has NEVER REACHED OUT TO ME! I have been to spas all over the world ranging from the lower-end chain massage spas all the way up through $1,000+/day ultra high-end destination spas. Reflections Spa is by far the lowest-brow spa that I have ever attended! More than $600 spent to sit in filth, be treated poorly, given sub-par services, be embarrassed in front of my own staff and, finally, to be ignored by management. I hope that the spa/resort manager reads this, although I have my doubts. Just an all-around DISGRACE! read more

We were there in the fall of 2019 as part of a bachelorette party. Services were good, but expensive--that is par for the course when you go to a resort such as this. For those of us who booked spa treatments, we each had a positive experience. The spa booking staff was pretty accomodating as we had a few last minute adjustments to the services that were booked. For those who chose to just hang out by the pool, that was relaxing as well, although their lounge chairs could use an upgade so you are not sinking down in them. read more

The long drive to get to this place made me think that it better be worth it! Well, unfortunately for me, it was not. At a spa I usually go to the massage therapists ALWAYS ask the kind of massage I like, and what they should know to make it the most comfortable relaxing experience possible for me. Not here. Well at least not with my therapist from Russia. The only thing she asked is where do I have problem. She did not ask if I wanted deep tissue, Shiatsu, little pressure, heavy pressure etc. She immediately started on my back and I was in shock by how deep and how painful it was for me. I gasped a few times and she just said to "breathe". I'm pretty sure I know I'm supposed to breathe but when the pain takes your breath away it's kind of difficult. I told her multiple times it hurt and please less pressure but apparently she didn't agree and just kept doing what she wanted to do. There were a couple of moments where I was about to cry from frustration and it hurting. I know some people love the deep tissue massage, I definitely do not and should be able to get a massage that makes me feel amazing. Especially since you're spending a lot of money for that hour. In terms of the atmosphere, it was just okay. The place is covered in RED everywhere. Red is probably the last color you want to be surrounded by when trying to be peaceful. They went for looks over actually thinking if it's a color conducive to relaxation. Once you're done with your massage they sit you in chairs with a think layer of salt you put your feet and and then whenever you feel like it you turn to put your feet in a thing of water. Not a jacuzzi tub kind of thing, just a tub of water. Weird. I didn't get how that was luxurious. It just seemed pointless. read more

My sister received a gift certificate for the spa, so I decided to go with her to try to alleviate some of my neck and back pain. We wanted to book a one -hour deep -tissue massage. We were informed we could only have a 50 -minute massage with a 10 -minute foot soak. The facility is beautiful, with a relaxing feel; however, both of our massages were awful. Both of our masseuses had very small, weak hands. My masseuse used her elbows to dig into the knots in my back. My sister's masseuse used her elbow and forearm to lightly rub up and down her back. There was no massaging involved. Both masseuses need more training in the art of massage. We then decided to relax in the sauna to try to relax and were told we only had access to the self-serve steam room; we were not entitled to any of the other amenities. I have been to Reflections quite a few times and it has become my favorite. Nestled in the cozy town of Hamburg in the Grand Cascades Lodge, you can feel the tension melt away as you approach the serene surroundings. The staff is always welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. After being greeted at check in, you are quickly escorted to the locker room, where there's access to a beautiful steam room. Once ready, you go into the lounge, where there's tea and water available to sip while you await your treatment. I've had facials, massages, pedicures...all have been fantastic, customized to my specific needs. After the treatment, you are escorted to a room at the center of the spa, with pink Himalayan salt crystals hanging from the ceiling. You are seated in a comfy lounge chair, and invited to scrub your feet in the pink Himalayan salt dish on the floor in front of you. As you lazily (or vigorously if you wish) rub your feet through the sand, you are offered champagne (or tea or water if you prefer) to sip and chocolate truffles to munch. When you have had your fill of the salt scrub, an assistant comes by to spin your chair 180 degrees where there's a tub of hot (but not too hot) water, waiting for your feet to have a soak. You can stay as long as you want. It's so peaceful and relaxing, it's easy to lose track of time! read more

I spoiled myself and received a number of services that were outstanding!!!! I typically go to high end/upscale spas in Manhattan and reflections spa met my expectations!! I want to give a special shout out to Deborah for an amazing massage, Sam for awesome wash and blow out, Barbara for a perfect Primitivo Deluxe Pedicure, and my Chai Soy Detoxifying facial with a Elizabeth H. Absolutely love this place. Professional courteous staff ensure the highest quality of service. Wonderful relaxing atmosphere leaves nothing to be desired. This is my third trip here and everytime it still exceeds expectations. I dont think ill be able to wait a whole year to come back. Seriously thinking of making our yearly tradtion into a monthly one. I got a massage and a haircut here the other day. I think the massage was called the "active life" massage or whatever their equivalent of a deep-tissue massage is. I was very pleased with both services - the stylist/haircut-chick was great and listened to my preferences and my likes/dislikes and everything I had to say about what kind of cut I wanted, and was very open to edits and changes along the way. Very responsive! The massage was probably the best I'd gotten in a while, though I'm not much of a spa-goer and my reference pool is somewhat limited. The massage therapist/etc (Diana) was also open to hearing what I had to say about what kind of massage I wanted, and actually listened (!!) when I told her to beat the s*** out of my back - every other time I've said that to someone they still ended up treating me like a delicate flower even when I expressed permission to use their elbows and to like, seriously, beat the **** out of my back because holy goodness it HURTS and everything is a knot or trigger point and needs to be smushed. My husband and I had the best time here. We booked a couples massage that was amazing! The atmosphere was really cool and the interior design was very unique. They have a locker room to put your things in and a lounge area with tea and macaroons. When the massage is over you do a lovely foot soak and they give you chocolate and champagne. After our massage we went and enjoyed the biosphere pool and hot tubs. We ate at the tavern and enjoyed a beer and some yummy appetizers after that. The tavern has a beautiful view and fireplace.
