I told him that I wanted to dye my hair but was averse to using chemicals since I was bf babies at the time, and he said he would be able to lighten my hair without chemicals since it was virgin hair, and successfully turned it from black to a light brown in one session! I've been getting it touched up every couple months from then on and it has held on wonderfully! I love his sunny disposition and never feel pressured to step out of my comfort zone. I haven't gone anywhere else since! Now that they are located out on 14 Mile they actually have a dedicated parking lot, which is much more convenient. Depending on what was going in downtown Rockford it was sometimes challenging to find parking at the previous locations. It was especially difficult in bad weather or when running a little later. The new location is smaller, but cute and clean. The ladies that work there are all friendly. We've all had some great conversations. I like that they are honest with me about what my hair can and can't do when I come in with a particular idea or photo. I've had previous stylists at other locations that won't tell me that what I have in mind just won't work on my hair type, so I end up unhappy with the end result. All of the stylists book their appointments independently and have their booking information listed on the website. Many of them also have their own Instagram pages so you can see their work. I found it especially helpful that they have descriptions of their strengths, as well as things they don't necessarily enjoy doing. Super helpful! Being downtown parking can be tricky. Just allow yourself enough time to find a space and pay attention if you book an appointment during the times, the meters are charging. I wish a place like this had been around when I was my daughter's age. I love love love that there is a place where you can go and just be.
