I was trying to find a great stylist to cut my hair, for a birthday trip and I happened upon this…read moresalon. I went in for a consultation with a Artrina Wright who works in Dutchess' salon, because Dutchess said she was a good hair cutter. She seemed so nice and professional I decided to go with her. I told her my daughter will be calling her to pay for my visit, she won't touch your hair without the money up front, NEVER HAD THAT BEFORE. My daughter text her days ago! and never got a call back. I call to ask her is everything still on before my trip the following week. She never answered her phone for me either. I left a message, and she called me back within minutes! I had already told her I don't go to anybody's business, where I'm not respected or talked down to like I'm a child. When she called me back, she did exactly, what I told her I won't tolerate, I don't care about your personal life just give me my $105 haircut. So beware, she seems nice at those consultations, but she's "fake!" I'll be more careful when I make a new appointment before my trip.

I am very hard on my hands, but she manages to make them look really good. I've been going monthly and will continue. I've tried a lot of local nail salons and this is the only place I have been returning to. No worries at all about sterile instruments, hygiene or cleanliness. New buffer, file and wooden pusher thing every time. As for the atmosphere, it's a bit less relaxing than I would prefer. I think it's the noise level, and the music isn't very calming. The pedicure room (where my friend was) is especially cold seeming, all that tile and the sounds of well, you know, echoing. You pay and leave gratuity up front before leaving. I would not want to get my hair done here because of a lack of privacy, it's the kind of thing I would not want strangers seeing, it's really a personal thing. Hair dye, wet hair, all those foil things, are all best left under a veil of mystery. The ease of making an appointment is great: online, telephone, schedule next one up front while you're there...they text you reminders which I appreciate, even though it's in my calendar. You leave a card on file to pay which I don't mind doing, although I mostly pay in cash. Nicole does a great job on my not so wonderful nails. There would be so much opportunity for mistakes but she really makes them look as good as they get, shiny and flawless for a good two weeks.

I was shocked and disappointed he didn't tell me himself that he was moving. Come to find out, Neil didn't move to Arizona. After he was (what I believe was) unfairly let go, he moved about 10 minutes south to a salon behind Kohls on Transit & Klein. Sadly, I later heard from another of his former clients they were told another (more slanderous) story about why Neil was not with the salon anymore. Another lie. If the salon owner did not value his employee, that's one thing. Just tell his clients you don't know where he went. To spread awful rumors and lies about him is unprofessional and truly awful. I'm happy to say I've found Neil again & no longer have to darken the door of a place I felt no connection to outside the one person who always greeted me warmly & always made sure I felt valued.

This is not my usual salon, and as someone who has been carefully growing out my hair, I was naturally a little nervous. I have to say, Tom did an AWESOME job with my haircut! He gave a good wash, a blow out, and did a dry cut. I have long layered hair and he was very good at following my cut ... not creating shorter layers or taking my front angle into the rest of my hair (I've had issues in the past with people almost creating a V-shape and in turn making my hair appear shorter than it is). All I wanted was a trim, not a new look, and he did just as I asked of him. He used Moroccan Oil smoothing lotion for the blow dry, leaving my hair feeling and smelling good. I would absolutely trust Tom again anytime I need a haircut and recommend him if you need a haircut on your long hair as well.

The stylist never acknowledged that she was running behind or offered any apology, she instead peeked around the corner and said "I see you" like a teenager. I was so frustrated that my appointment would start at least an hour late that I chose to leave. She then marked me as a 'No Show' with the Square Appointment Software. Also what was most obvious as I sat in the waiting area is how filthy this salon is. It confirmed my choice to leave.

Came in with shoulder length hair. Asked for a messy bob with side bangs. Made sure she knew that I was required to pull it back for work. I got a mullet! and I cannot pull it back for work (without many bobby pins- thankfully I have those). Layers are not blended, and it is so short around my ears that the hair doesn't stay tucked behind and sticks out. On the way out she said "you might look like a mushroom for a little bit but give it a month to look good"... What?! And "Well, you are not crying, so that's good". For the record, Michelle, I have been crying. Unfortunately, tears do not make your hair grow faster. Traumatized.

The entire time I was there the nail technician said no more than 10 words to me. I don't care for technicians who are super talkative but it was a very uncomfortable silence. I was asking her questions to try and strike up a conversation such as how long have you been here, are you the owner, what's a popular nail color? All which were answered in 1-3 word sentences. She sawed back and forth with the file which isn't good because that weakens the nails. My feet soaked for around 2 minutes. Usually it's at least 5-10 at other salons. Next was my gel manicure. Again sawed back and forth. There wasn't a nail soak bath or anything. Which hurt because when she did my cuticles it was very painful! She then proceeded to paint my nails after first applying a gel. I suggested I go wash my hands which she replied" if you want to". It was not a pleasant experience and would definetly not recommend or return.

L P N is a hair salon. It's not a spa. The ladies who work here work on hair, and that's it…read more For years I have been a customer of the lady who owns this establishment, and I love her and her ladies. They are talented, lively (in a very good way), friendly, and down to Earth. They have a way to connect with their clients and figure out their clients' interests, wants, and needs. Their goal is to have their customers walk out satisfied and with beautiful hair, not to weasel more money out of their customers. In fact, the prices that they set for their services are quite clear-cut and reasonable, especially for their talent. These ladies will be the first to say when a request is not reasonable, when they don't have the skills to make a style request happen, or when they think a style wouldn't suit their patron's facial structure, complexion, or lifestyle. When any of these situations happen, they will willingly suggest more reasonable solutions that will still fulfill their clients' wishes and needs. They are the only hairstylists I personally have met who constantly and eagerly seek to learn new techniques. Hair is their passion, and it shows in their attitude. My hairstylist was recommended to me by my husband, who in turn was referred to her by his dad. Today, pretty much all of my husband's immediate family members are her clients, and we're all happy customers. She is the only hairstylist I have ever been a patron of who I can tell with confidence, "Do whatever you feel like today. Have fun with my haircut." In fact, I have given her free reign regularly, and everytime I do so, she gifts me with a fresh new look that looks good, makes me look good, and still fits my lifestyle so that I can easily maintain the hairstyle until I see her again. A few tips. One, if you're a new customer or a non-regular, call to make an appointment at least a couple weeks in advance. Two, give your entire hair history honestly when asked. These ladies won't judge but your hairstylist will need your hair's full history in order to make your requested hairstyle happen. Three, if you have special hair concern or need, let your hairstylist know so she can help you address it.
