We waited about 5 minutes after being given menus before a "server" came over. This man seemed to think we were there for entertainment. Everything that came out of his mouth was loud and somewhat irritating. He wouldn't stop with the poor humor and refused it seemed to just act professionally. Placing our order was uncomfortable. We ordered a burger and salad for my wife and 12 wings for myself. When ordering, the server kept saying "AND" after we would state what we wanted. He was trying to push us to order more? He continued to a point that we almost got up and walked out. What he failed to realize was that we were out for a simple and quiet late afternoon meal, not a Gong Show audition by him. Almost 35 minutes passed. Yes, 35 minutes. The server stopped by and believe it or not, grabbed the table side ordering device and had to check to see if HE actually put in the order. He left and returned about 5 minutes later with the order. The wings were inedible. The first thing I noticed is they were dried out. Not even warm on the outside yet somewhat steamy on the inside. The sauce was dried out on most of them. And then came the taste test. Have you ever eaten wings that were old? The wings were so salty I almost spit them out. I held back due to being in a public area. The worst. Salt beyond understanding. I tried a second and the same thing. I had my wife try part of another and she gagged. My wife's burger was tasteless. It fell apart, all 1/4 inch thickness. Nothing better than a low end Walmart frozen patty. When I attempted to get the server to raise the issue, he was too busy socializing and cracking jokes with a table a few feet away. He and another server were telling all sorts of stories with people at the table. It took us around 7 minutes to finally flag down a bus boy to go get his attention. When the server came over, he addressed me initially as though I was making a mistake, almost questioning my concern. He asked to replace the wings and I said no. What was served was awful. The items weren't prepared with the wrong sauce or undercooked, these were "off". It took the server over 10 more minutes to remove the item from our bill. As we were moving out of the booth to leave, the manager came over and couldn't care any less. She made a non-serious gesture by asking if there was something she could order for us, AS WE WERE LEAVING. She demonstrated no concern, no apology, no empathy etc. She never came over to even ask for our input from the original issue. She didn't care, plain and simple. She dismissed us as though she was wasting her time even talking to us. I have a gift card balance of around $14 that will forever go unspent. I'm not sure what happened to this place but it's a complete mess when it comes to food and professionaiism.

Tonight we decided to go to McKenna's before going out for movie night. We've been here many…read moretimes before and had a variety of different dishes. All of which have been good. Recently, we traveled through Canada on a 12 day trip. We had lobster rolls in five different places. I saw lobster roll on the menu McKenna's has been real good for seafood and they actually do a Veterans Day special. It's a 2 for 1 lobster. It's lobster from Maine. I saw lobster roll on the menu and thought let's try this out. of course I was gonna be comparing it to what we had in Canada. Much to my surprise it was delicious and I would actually rate it better than what we had in Canada. it is now gonna be my McKenna's favorite. The food was great and the service was wonderful. Lily was our waitress and she did a great job fast efficient and always made sure we had what we needed. i'll be waiting for the next time, I can get to McKenna's to have a lobster roll. Hopefully we'll have Lily as our waitress again.

I went both days (Friday and Saturday), and I was lucky to go during happy hour, where my credit paid for my drink and an appetizer. I first had a welcome drink that was the welcome gift for staying at The Daytona, and it was a light, but refreshing drink before my appetizer. I decided on the shrimp tostada, which has a crispy wafer with a good amount of sauteed shrimp. It also has lettuce, tomato, onion, with sour cream and some sauce on top. It was definitely Marriott quality as the shrimp was plump and the drizzle was flavorful. It brought wonderful memories of dining in Mexico City. My second drink was crafted by Fabian, who said he will make it special and strong. I honestly don't remember what drink he made, but strong it definitely was. It tasted like an old fashioned that was at an honor bar from an executive lounge. He must have poured a higher quality liquor or extra shot or two of it, because I was in happyland quickly after my second shot. I was quite tipsy, that I just talked with Fabian and other patrons at the bar before I sobered up and got back to my hotel room. The next day I had an old fashioned, which was prepared by a different bartender (sorry, but I forgot her name), and it was definitely another good drink, even though it was lighter in the alcohol. I also had free breakfast at the restaurant. So I tried the Dorothy Blue one day, and the Blue Bird Benedict the other day. Both were so delicious and came with fried potatoes. The eggs are perfectly cooked to medium with just a bit of ooze coming out. The bacon from the Benedict was flavorful and plentiful. The avocado spread and tomato were fresh. If it wasn't free, it still would have been worth the 18 bucks. The service was very good at all visits, but Fabian took the cake with the killer drink he made. The atmosphere reminds me of the Test Track ride at Epcot with various race vehicles in display as well small screens showing races. The background music seemed to be light rock, but on Saturday evening, they had a live musician singing and playing the guitar. Outdoor seating is available with a nice view of the One Daytona Mall. I must say I was very impressed with this restaurant. While it is the only restaurant at the hotel, it was definitely high quality with the delicious food and fun vibes. I am very happy that the 15 dollar credit was included in our 28 dollar hotel fee (the fee included parking, high speed Internet, bike rentals as well).
