    Infusion

This place is such a treat! First, the grounds are stunning. I came here for high tea and made a reservation back in July. You are welcomed very warmly here. We were sat quickly and offered a tea and infusion menu. The room is well lit with big windows and beautiful quilts hung all around the room. We got the raspberry elderflower infusion because my mom can't have caffeine. It was sensational. We both loved the taste. The staff was very helpful and explained each part throughly. We enjoyed the sweet treats, scones, and open-faced sandwiches. Don't skip the clotted cream. The scones were still warm and perfectly baked. The scones were a little plain so I really liked the scones with raisins. I also enjoyed the vanilla mousse with maple syrup and blueberries. My mom also said this was her favorite sweet treat. They offer prosecco, mimosas, or sparkling lemonade at the end of the tea. My only piece of feedback is that this experience was a little expensive. $130 for two. It was very nice but I don't think the portions match the value. I would do this again so the value to price ratio isn't terrible.

Today was a gorgeous sunny and warm day in NJ. I was in town for work meetings and since the day was so nice, I wanted to be outside after work. I looked around on Google Maps zooming in on green spaces and found this spot and wow what a gem of a place to stumble on. If you know me, I absolutely love being outside and it's my favorite thing to do is to be outside in nature. I get a dose of medicine every time I am outdoors. Nature is such good medicine. I was so happy today and this place was wonderful to explore. I spent about an hour here and loved all the short trails to explore and all the beautiful flowers, trees and nature to soak in! This place is free with a small parking lot. Signs are very clearly marked of where the garden is, where trails are, do's and don'ts and very well organized. Id love to come back here during the summer and fall! This was such a nice find and loved the experience!

We had a great time sipping and spilling tea at Reeves-Reed! All the food was very good, exceeding our expectations! We walked the grounds after our tea party, which was a nice way to wind down from lunch. My only complaint is that there are no blinds or curtains on the windows, so it was a beautiful, crisp fall day but we were sitting in the beating sun, which is not a good mix while drinking hot tea.

If I were a local I'm sure I'd come here often enough to soon become familiar with the history of the place, but after one visit as a tourist, there's still plenty of mystery in my mind about the garden. Above all though, I'm grateful once again that here are groups of people who care enough (and have the necessary resources) to preserve and maintain nature like this. Both gates at entrance and exit opened automatically as our vehicle approached, and parking was limited but there were enough spaces in late afternoon in September. It appeared that there might be other activities like workshops and events but for us, it was heavenly just to walk around the paths to enjoy the lush greenery and wildlife. There's is a public restroom attached to the main house although we didn't need it. I hope we get to visit again and it stays open for many more decades.

Went here a while back ( in May ) they have a high tea event where you get to sample various teas ! Also included are some tea desserts like scones and small cucumber sandwiches. I have never been here before and really enjoyed it . The grounds themselves are lovely to begin with but the high tea event was perfect ! The staff is so nice and accommodating and they decorated the patio around the mansion very beautifully ! Really felt special it is a perfect place to unwind :)

Incredible.... and FREE... Arboretum. A must see.

Reeves-Reed Arboretum is one of the nicest you'll visit..... and it's FREE. The entrance is beautiful, the short drive to the parking lot is beautiful, and every square foot of this site is.....peaceful.  Don't forget to stop into the Visitors Center. You'll find pamphlets full of information, maps, events, and ways to volunteer/donate. You'll also find a very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable staff member who will answer all of your questions. As you make your way through the arboretum, you'll encounter different terrains and perfectly placed benches, in order to rest or take in the beauty. You'll also come across the Wisner House. Step in and enjoy the air conditioning and the current displays. Today, we enjoyed the paintings of Susan Darwin, which are also for sale. Don't hesitate to stop by Reeves-Reed. You'll enjoy tranquility, pristine sceneries, impressive landscapes, educational opportunities, cute wildlife, and all.......for free.

Have visited Reeves- Reed Arboretum several times even after a rain fall and it's absolutely beautiful! Enjoy exploring and finding the new art installations throughout the arboretum! The flower blooms are stunning!!! Free to enter. Small parking lot available. Activities and festivities posted on social media! Highly recommend!

Their secret tea events are amazing! I came here with a friend in December and it was so much fun. It's beautifully decorated for the season and the two hosts were simply amazing in sharing their tea recommendations and explaining all of the yummy offerings. You also get a glass of prosecco or sparkling lemonade toward the end of service. I hope to check out some other seasonal teas throughout the year!

PROS: this is one of the best nature centers I've been to. They have several beautiful gardens, a nursery, an artificial bee farm, and some small hiking trails. The staff is very nice and they have a beautiful office building CONS: their plants are overpriced and you can only buy them during their plant sales. The main building is infested with bees on the outside of the entrance OVERALL: amazing place to walk around, meet new people, and observe nature. Just be weary of the bees

    The Daffodil Bowl
    Theresa C.

There is a glacially carved bowl in front of the historic home which, in April, is filled with thousands of daffodil blooms. Susie Reeves began planting the bulbs in the 1920s. I decided to check out the arboretum on a nice day since I'd missed it during the 2019 4 centuries in 1 weekend event that usually happens in October. What a lovely visit this turned out to be...I wasn't expecting the Daffodil Bowl. I walked on some of the paths on the estate, read the signs and took lots of pics!

Excellent outdoor space to walk around. It is free and you should just check their hours for the day you want to go. The flowers were exquisite and the grass was so green. You can take short little walks around there to explore and read about the history of the place. We were visiting the area from out of town and I'm so glad that I was able to find this hidden jewel. The sculptures are beautiful and remind me of a mini Storm King from upstate NY. You can sit on a bench or a rock and read if you'd like. We also saw a family of hedgehogs enjoying the outdoors! sand of course, little chipmunks- watch out for the little holes in the ground. Bring water with you as that was a lifesaver on the hot day!
