I called and chatted with Dan who assured me it wouldn't need much based on Hyundai's published $60K service list. In the end, it was about $110. He checked her brakes and said they were in great shape and definitely didn't need his $450 per axle brake replacement service. She had previously been told her brakes were dangerously bad and needed urgent replacement. Dan could easily have told me her brakes needed replacing and made $450-900. He did not because he's an honest car mechanic. How refreshing!

The parts and labor was expensive, but we were assured that it was necessary. Six months later the clutch failed while my wife was in heavy traffic. She narrowly avoided an accident trying to get off the road with no power coming from the motor. The truck was towed at our own expense back to Jackson's where they repaired it again! We reminded them that we still have our invoice of all the parts that were replaced before, and it was still under their warranty. This time the repair was finished extremely fast. Pretending to replace parts on someone's vehicle is called theft. You would not look me in the eye. You gave no explanation of how brand new parts, predicted to last 6 years or more, failed in 6 months. Not a single word. You put my family in danger, and you are a thief!

What a great shop this is! I just found them a few weeks ago. I had work done on my Acura at a…read moregarage in Eugene and the problems weren't only not fixed but created a problem with my A/C. Jerry was so nice and scheduled to check out the car a few days out. I dropped off my car and the mechanic went over the issues I had: speedometer cable broken and replaced Idle control not working. Come to find out, my A/C wasn't working right either. The shop is very clean, as is the waiting area and bathroom. They had coffee and water available to drink while I waited. The work was done in a reasonable amount of time. I was warned that the A/C issue might involve having to remove the dash inside the car to find the problem and might be a pricey fix. Ugh. I was preparing for the worse and praying for the best. The speedometer cable was not broken but disconnected. Huge cost savings there and impt. because the part was no longer being manufactured. The Idle control part that was put on by the Eugene mechanics and didn't fix the idle problem wasn't the necessary part to fix the idle problem. My car has a manual transmission. It has two Idle control parts not one which is what automatic transmissions have. The one that was replaced was for hot starts...the one I needed was for cold starts which would solve both cold and hot start idle issues. I found a used fast idle control assembly part online and that fix was properly fixed now. The fix made by the garage in Eugene to address the fan issue for the radiator was not fixed. Mainly because the problem wasn't the fan but a dead battery. The Eugene mechanics repair that was made was to add a timer and sensor which, not only wasn't necessary but ended up being the cause of the A/C unit not working. It was blowing the A/C fuse making the A/C not work. Thankfully the dash wasn't taken out so the fix was not as expensive as I thought it would be. I am grateful for good and honest mechanics. I am frustrated with having to go back to my previous mechanic and try to get some money back on the work they did but I'm going to try. Wayne's is my new Acura mechanic.

Worst mechanic experience I've ever had!! I brought my 2008 Honda Fit to this shop for a…read moretransmission swap. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely frustrating and left me with a damaged vehicle and significant out-of-pocket costs. I was originally told I would have my car back around 5 PM. Instead, I didn't get the car back until around 9 PM. When I picked it up, James the owner told me that the transmission fill bolt had not been properly tightened. During first test drive. and transmission fluid leaked out, he explained and then I got car back but I was also missing the transmission dipstick And had no idea. I drove approximately 40 miles home before realizing there was a serious problem. I ultimately had to have the vehicle towed back using my own AAA coverage. When I brought the car back, the missing dipstick was initially discounted as being the cause of the problem. I was then given an explanation involving another bolt that, according to the shop, had apparently been overlooked. My concern was that if that bolt had actually been loose and allowing transmission fluid to escape, there should have been evidence of that fluid loss at the time. When I picked up the vehicle that night, there was also a liquor bottle sitting next to the computer in the work area. I cannot say whether anyone had been drinking, so I'm not going to make that accusation, but given that my vehicle was being worked on and was returned several hours later than promised, it was concerning to see. Ultimately, I was only given $150 back. I was left with a transmission that had experienced problems after the installation, additional expenses, and the responsibility of getting the vehicle back to a condition I could trust. My biggest issue is that when something went wrong with work performed on my vehicle, I expected the shop to take responsibility and make it right. I don't feel that happened here. I'm posting this review because I want other owners and anyone considering a transmission replacement or for James to work on there car to know exactly what happened in my experience. I strongly recommend documenting everything, asking questions about the work performed, and thoroughly inspecting the vehicle before leaving the shop.

When I raised my concern, the front desk staff told me the appointment time isn't when service starts, it's just your drop-off time. That's not stated anywhere on their website or when booking. After more than two hours with no proactive updates I chose to leave & book with another shop. To the shop: this would've been a completely different experience if someone had simply told me up front that you were running behind & given me the choice to wait or reschedule. I would have rescheduled if that option had been offered honestly & early. Please train your team to flag delays proactively & add a note when booking that appointment times are drop-off windows. They worked really hard to call around and find the right parts at a discount and ended up repairing multiple parts of the unit for $1,600. They answered all of my questions and walked me through what each part would cost and what could happen if I didn't replace it so I felt that I had options. They were fine with me doing just a few things and didn't pressure me to fix everything (thought that's what I ended up going with). Very helpful, professional, and did a great job on my car. I was told their pressure testing would do that, and I authorized the work based on their diagnosis. Only afterward did they discover a cracked engine block. I later found a manufacturer service bulletin addressing this exact known problem. The shop admitted they hadn't checked it and argued they shouldn't be expected to. When I challenged the diagnosis and asked for time to consider my options, I was told they would begin charging me $267 per day in storage fees, effectively forcing me to make an immediate decision. I don't expect perfection. I do expect competent research, clear communication about the limitations of diagnostic testing, and accountability when something major is missed. I received none of those things here. I deeply regret trusting their diagnosis and would not bring another vehicle to this shop.
