They will definitely hold a conversation with you, which in my opinion is a lot nicer than sitting there in awkward silence while someone you don't know scrubs your feet! They didn't have massage chairs, but their chairs were nice and comfortable to sit and relax in. They have a pretty large collection of Essie, OPI, and gel polishes (so nice!) and they definitely don't skimp out on the polish and used 3 coats of polish on my nails and toes! Also, the place is well ventilated so you don't smell all of the toxins from the nail polish! They really strive for perfection and make sure that your nails look perfect before you leave! I had a pedicure tonite that was less than 25 min long. I went with friends and we were clearly squeezed in to a tight schedule. My pedi was less than 25 min long with no lotion or leg massage. This nail spa is by far the WORST I've been to in Humboldt County. I called to schedule an appointment and I specifically asked for a full set with the woman, because the guy always cuts my cuticles and makes me bleed. I got to the salon, and right away the woman tells me she doesn't want to do a full set because she is better at fills. At this point, I get passed to the guy and right away he tells me he can't do a full set either. I had to settle for a fill and not to my surprise, he continuously cut my cuticles with the file and drill. In addition, I brought in a simple design and they right away had hesitation, so I offered to just chose a different color without a design. They told me they could do the design, and that the woman (who was more precise with designs) would do the design after the guy shaped my nails. You guessed it, the woman did not do my design, instead the guy attempted and did a terrible job. As I was paying, the woman told me "When you come in next time, you should just bring in something simple because we're not good at designs." YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT. In complete honesty, I went home and filed off my polish right away because I was embarrassed to have it on my nails. The pictures I have attached are 2 days after my nail appointment and as you can see, my cuticles are inflamed, red, and scabbed. Worst acrylic fill I have ever received in the 11 years of having acrylics. I have gotten fills all over the United States and in Europe and this was hands down the worst. My mom and I made appointments the day before, we showed up for our appointments and the staff was short and grumpy. While getting my nails done he kept burning my nail beds because the drill was turned up to high. He also kept drilling off my cuticles to the point where every single one of my fingers has cuts on them. I walked out with my hands looking horrible and abused. The nail polish also looks horrible and cheap. The first thing I did when I got home aside from peeling the excess acrylic off the sides of my nails was soak them in hydrogen peroxide. Every single one of my nails instantly foamed up and started stinging. I did hydrogen peroxide soaks for 4 days once a day until my nails finally stopped foaming up. Avoid this place, if you value your nails and not getting an infection. read more

My personal favorite nail salon in eureka. Extremely stylish decor while maintaining a clean space. Ken usually does my fills and my pedicures and he is amazing! The other ladies in the salon also provide a high level of service with attention to detail. Very accommodating of busy schedules, they can usually see me the same day I call. My only complaint is the lack of ample parking, but there's a shopping center across the street for overflow! read more

This place was our last resort due to some reviews, sadly was the only place open when we were free. If you happen to have to go here watch out for a very aggressive manicurist, one of the guys here looks extremely angry, he was not once nice or friendly towards myself or anyone else, he also happens to grind your cuticles. Probably 75%+ of my nails the cuticles and sides of my nail beds are scratched and sore. He also continuously tried getting me to rest my hand a certain way without using any words. Everything about him just seemed really impolite. Given I'm pretty happy with how my nails turned out in general I'm pretty upset it was so painful. I went to Redwood nails spa for the first time today. The staff was nice and the salon was very relaxing with candles and soft music with no overly chemically smells. I got french tips and a level 2 pedicure. Although I did enjoy myself and love the way my nails look. I'll be honest 4 things will make me have to think about going back or not. 1.The man who did my nails drew blood twice. 2. I had to stop the lady who did my massage when I felt gloves on her hands. She never asked if I was allergic to latex and I am. I had to ask if they were latex and then ask her to remove them once she told me they were. 4. He chatted and laughed it up with me during the whole manicure. I went here for the first time yesterday for a gel mani and regular pedi. The parking can be a little tricky because it's on the corner but hey, it was easy to find. They have a really cozy relaxing atmosphere inside (doesn't smell like chemicals, bonus) with a fish tanks and comfy seating. The people working here are really nice and they do a great job. There's a TON of gel color options and the polishes they use are mostly good quality brands like essie and opi. The products they use smell awesome too. Since she was in a hurry she could not stay to have them remove all the gel polish and try again. Then my daughter gets home and within an hour the nail polish on three fingers comes off completely leaving bare nails. First time here was ok then every time after was w/ an older man & the service gets worse & worse. My nails are poorly shaped, rushed rough and careless. The gel polish is never dried properly long enough and always sticky, I had 3 nails chip polish 2 days later. I'd recommend using your phone timer for gel polish drying. They don't properly soak off gel polish instead, damage natural nails by drilling off polish. My gel soak was literally a few seconds. My nails are normally thick & strong but after going here a few times, they're thin & brittle. There's also an incredible amount of polish put on skin. They don't care about quality or natural nails, only getting you out ASAP. Last time to this business, they're not valuing the high demand instead, taking full advantage being one of few nail salons open during the pandemic. Way too rough, callus and damaging to natural nails... probably ok w/ fake nails. He also cut me twice & made me bleed and didn't offer a discount or credit towards next service. read more

I was supposed to get gel nails and ended up with regular nails and no color . I spent about 3 hours there and left way past closing. The owners were very passive aggressive and rude. Got a Pedicure here 3 days ago from a man doesn't speak any English at all. He seemed really mad at the time I got there and he smell like a pack of New Port. He was really rough on my feet and doesn't know how to cut the cuticle around my Toes Nails. I asked him to trim my Toes Nails shorter and he seemed like doesn't understand what I said. The only thing he does good was washed my Toes . He is not even know how to polish my Toes nails . I end up have to paid $45.00 for him to wash my feet and call his service is Deluxe Spa Pedicure. Thank you for all the good review that mislead me there. On top of that, I don't think the lady in the salons has a license. I love this place. I drive to it from Arcata, Vi does the best gel manís and all the folks do great pedis. My favorite one to get is the callus control pedi, you get lots of feet love with that one. I had been going to the same nail shop in town for about four years. The last couple of times had been the pits so I decided to check out this place. The parking lot is weird. Pretty clean and I was greeted by everyone. No appt and was seen right away. I got a callous buster pedicure, forty bucks and it was awesome. I didn't get any paint on my toes this time. The pedicure was so relaxing and the old lady doing it really put some elbow grease into it. I also got a gel manicure, French tip. An older man did my mani. He took his time and gave me exactly what I wanted. I got massages with both. I plan to go again. The older peeps don't speak much English, the lady doing my toes spoke non. But they do have some young people working there that speak English so it works out. It was a good experience. The price is high but every nail shop in our county is over priced. Oh, they charged me $10 to remove my previous gel paint even though there were a total of 4 toes with paint and bits of paint on my finger nails. I didn't know there was a charge for that until I was paying to leave. I wasn't in the arguing mood sho i paid and will have it all removed before I go next time. read more

I was pleased with my service by Nee, which was a gel polished pedicure. Nee was very attentive and kind. I was greeted in an unwelcoming manner by the male there but there was one other nail technician there who also had great customer service skills. I do not visit many nail spas often but I would most definitely go back to Redwood Nail Spa and recommend others to check it out. The bathroom was very clean and had hand sanitizer instead of soap, which is better than nothing. I like that the nail stations were not too close together. The spa is spacious and comfortable.
