The man that did my pedicure was extremely rude because I didn't bring sandals in with me today and I paid him 60 bucks for a regular pedicure read more

i dislike leaving a bad review, especially being that they seem to be working hard to do well. However i havr never had such a bad experience in my life. They told me how i needed my nails- what color and hoe they wanted to clean them. Unbelievable. On top of it after i complained they still chose to charge me 60. Hopefully they can learn to listen and care. read more

I've never left a review anywhere before but this place was so bad I hope the salon burns down so no one can ever get their nails done here ever again. Do not go here. It's dirty, they are rude and don't know how to do their job. I just wanted a simple rounded french tip. My nails are uneven, thick asf and they didn't clean up my nail beds so the polish is pushed up on the cuticle. They look like shit and I wish I would have just left when I had a bad feeling about the place which was immediately. Save yourself 2 hours and some money and go literally anywhere else. read more

Haven't lived in Humboldt for a long and have been looking for a nail tech. I got my nails done earlier in the morning today and wasn't happy with them and I really only give a nail tech one shot before moving on. They were able to clean my nails up nice and they look really dainty and clean now. I will be back. Staff was polite and delightful. Great experience. Very grateful and for their willingness to see me even though they didn't put my nails on. read more

Family Nails - Pretty berry red - Nail Salons Near Me - Eureka, California

Nice family business! Fiona and Terry were friendly and chatty. My pedicure looked great and my feet are happy again. Nice foot massage. No upselling, just good service. We made an appointment and they were right on time to start. Pros, very knowledgeable and helpful. Cons, not very relaxing environment. All in all, I will be back maybe I'll just bring a headset with relaxing music. read more

Family Nails - Purple scorpio polish. - Nail Salons Near Me - Eureka, California

Fiona got me right in and I got a decent pedicure and the color of my choice. Unfortunately, it was dirty, run down and looked like a cyclone hit it. From other reviews I'm wondering if I just caught them at the "wrong time". It wasn't busy. The pedicure chairs are cracking and non-inviting. I don't think they massage. The foot bowls were iffy Everything looked like it was in disarray. There were nail clippings on the floor as I was told to walk to the chair in my bare feet. I personally just can't go back. The pedicure turned out mediocre. But, I was desperate on this day as my regular nail tech has had multiple injuries and is not doing pedicures at the moment so my toes had gone four months without a pedi. I do hope they clean up the place - more people would go to them. read more

My first time and I'm very glad I went! I'm celebrating solstice with a pedi to kick off a fun summer. The owner, Terry, was awesome and gave a super leg foot massage! Very detail oriented and friendly with his regulars. It's a super clean shop too. I'll def be back. read more

Rude and very nosy. Possibly a front business for something else. Nails were mediocre

Best nail shop in eureka for pedicure, attention to detail and such good massage! Family ran

I just moved to the area and was referred to Eureka to get my nails done. I called & was surprised I was able to book an appt. the same day. In addition, I received a call letting me know I could come in early. I thought the price was a bit high for a fill in comparison to Sacramento prices. Due to moving my nails were a mess & overdue for a fill. So when the coowner took an hour & a half to make my nails so perfect, I found the price to be fair if not a bit low to the quality of work that he produce. In addition, every was clean, he washed his hands prior to working on my nails & when he had to step away. His tools were sanitized. These are things I never saw in my 24 years in Sacramento. I was very impressed & will be returning within the time frame he suggested. I highly recommend this nail shop. And since I have been getting my nails done for almost forty years, he is in the top 3 of best manicurist! read more

Family Nails - Acrylic Gel Mani with pink french tip - Nail Salons Near Me - Eureka, California

Pedicure sucked so bad!! Not only was I unable to get what I requested (over the phone) BEFORE I came in, the paint job is terrible. What a WASTE of TIME AND MONEY. She clipped all of my toe nails (did not ask her to) then told me I couldn't get French tip to MATCH MY NAILS, because my toe nails are too "short". I was told to "wait until my nails grow out" to get French tip ??? My feet literally are the same as when I walked in BUT WORSE!! Barely even scrubbed my feet !! Took THREE HOURS for a fill and so called "pedicure". I'm a girly who loves acrylic on my big toes (my nails chip/thin) she took it upon herself to remove the acrylic (without asking) and announced very loudly that I have fungus,on one of my toes. (Which I believe was a bruise from stubbing my toe). Luckily it was only one other person in the nail salon at the moment, besides her husband. It was super embarrassing ! Then proceeded to question me. Asking WHY do I get it in the first place, and what I should and shouldn't do.. OH FYI, I was unable to see what she was doing to my feet because, as my finger nails are drying she squats down under the table and started my pedicure. When I finally made it to the spa chair I believe BLEACH or some other CHEMICAL was added to the water without warning or permission. (*IF someone has fungus I thought you aren't supposed to use the same equipment and polish as you use on others?) it was a mess ! Save your money ladies ! This encounter really bothered me. Every time I look or feel my feet I get even more upset that I wasted my time. I'm not that kind of person to even write reviews. Three days later and I'm still thinking about it! read more

Nice couple. Nails are incredibly durable..traditionally, I tend to pop them off...but not Family Nails!

Definitely my "go to" for nail service in Eureka -truly a family in the name: family nails and with such a nice couple that run this place- only the two of them so make an appointment- place is very clean and they do an excellent job that they don't rush you through as they take care with their clients! Have been there 4 times and even brought my elderly mother in when she was visiting and they were kind to her, and very respectful and polite. read more

My friend Ella and I love Terry and Fiona. We have great conversations and a relaxing time getting our nails done. The quality of the service was wonderful. The technician was very knowledgeable and his skills were excellent. I'm budgeting to do this regularly! Terry and Fiona are amazing. Fiona gave my boyfriend his first mani pedi and made the experience enjoyable. Terry did my nails and his work was IMMACULATE. It's really hard for me not to give good reviews to a hard-working family but they really need to up their game. The first thing I noticed is how filthy and disorganized everything is. I went for a pink and white fill (my regular gal was out of town) and the owner couldn't find the acrylic. He even called his wife to see if she knew where it was. There were baskets of product all over the place. He finally came back with one but it was too pink and I was disappointed at how they turned out. Someone called to make an appointment and he couldn't find the appointment book. He seemed frazzled the whole time and rushed. I too, was surprised that they didn't take debit cards and had to pull out all my cash. Maybe he was having a bad day but that doesn't explain the dirtiness that appears to have been there a long time. My thought was, "How do they pass inspections?" I won't go back. read more

I made an appointment at Family Nails for three pedicures and one manicure. We arrived at the appointment time and waited 10 minutes for work to begin on the pedicures. On the first pedicure, no polish was desired, only a buff, but they said they cannot do buffing because they are "not allowed". I don't know what that means, but a basic pedicure with no buff or polish was what the first person got. When told about the inability for buffing, the first person decided not a get a manicure (also due to how long it seemed our services were going to take). The other two pedicures were one with polish and one without. The polish originally picked out was not able to be used because it was dried out and there was no back-up. The rest of the service went alright. The owners were very nice and knowledgable, but they did talk a lot and the process took longer than expected. At the end of the service, we were told the price, which was $90. This was unexpected, especially since we are familiar with salons in the bay area that reliably charge between $20-30 for a pedicure and the higher end typically comes with some additional perks. Due to two people getting only a basic pedicure, this price did not seem justified. We also viewed the "menu" of services after they told us the price and found that there were no prices indicated on it. I think this location could improve their service by advertising their prices upfront (although we should have asked before booking as well), honoring appointment times and being more efficient. I will not be returning to this establishment anytime soon. read more

lady was very friendly. i asked for black and white acrylic nails and the black turned out to be a dark blue.

Terry the owner did an exceptional job on my nails and toes! He got me in on a Saturday when it's usually very busy. I'm from out of town and he was the only salon who said "come on down!" I would highly recommend this nail salon! At the pool enjoying my beautiful nails and toes! Thanks Terry! read more

This place needs a MAJOR clean up!! It was stressful getting my nails done because there is clutter everywhere! Nail polish everywhere, floor filthy, papers flying everywhere because the doors didn't stay shut through the wind! I got basic acrylic no paint, short in length, no manicure included and still paid $33. I think that's overpriced considering the circumstances and no manicure and the short length of my nails. I went home and painted them. My 11yr old daughter got the same exact thing I did just a tad bit longer and hers were $38?! I think they're nice people, but they need to clean up there salon! read more

I'm not one to post reviews anywhere but I got my nails done here and they looked great but after a day I started getting what I thought was an ingrown nail, it was green which I thought was very unusual. I left it alone thinking it would just go away, (I've never had an ingrown nail) but it never did...I finally decided to pick at it to see why it was still green, and a ton of greenish puss started coming out of it. Not to mention that the shop is a mess and doesn't look very clean, so my nail ended up being infected by whatever they were using or not cleaning correctly... I will not be coming back... read more

I only come here for pedicures. They are great at doing pedicures, because they are very gentle. They've never clipped too close to my skin nor over-file. The gel nails lasts forever. Great experience. Very social and friendly service. Loved the family environment.

I'm not one to leave bad reviews unless absolutely deserving of doing so and clearly this did So here goes... So... I scheduled my appointment for 6pm... Day of my appointment they called me at 515pm and asked me to come in sooner... I rushed my son across town to the sitter and arrived at 545... They didn't start my pedicure till 605pm I brushed it off. They took longer to do my pedicure then necessary because they kept bouncing back and forth between me and other customers... Still I brushed it off... UNTIL... It came time to pay and they told me they only take cash, venmo or cash app... NO CARDS! All i had was not enough cash to cover my bill or a credit card. I had to do a partial pay and leave to go home to get more cash and come back. Mind you my family was waiting to go out to dinner and I am almost 8 months pregnant. I was PISSED! Never going there again and going to warn EVERYONE I know not to go there. read more

Best place to go in town! The owners are the only 2 employees so they are really invested in their business. They are both friendly. Would give 5 stars but it is sometimes hard to get in and its cash only. I often like to be a walk in customer but here, they often can't take walk ins. They do excellent work and prices are competitive if not lower than others. The actual space is a bit "unorganized" but they are ultra sanitary and friendly. Their pedicure massages are awesome too!! I'm for sure a fan. read more
