If you're looking for a beautiful & serine place to get your nails done, this isn't the place. The color selection is limited and the entire place could use more organization and a deep cleaning aside from a complete update. I was charged $103 to soak off my existing nails, & do a full set with gel polish & a pedicure with normal polish (no designs or gems.) Typically the cost for this in most other salons is around $70, so you can imagine my surprise when they told me it would be $103. I was in the salon for 4 hours.... 1 hour was spent soaking. I appreciated that they do accept Venmo & PayPal, and the quality of work was definitely there, I'm pleased with both services which is why I'm giving them 3 stars because the work was done well. However, they kept both- the front and back doors open while it was both windy and raining outside, which was awful--one customer was complaining about being too cold (which it was). All in all, I felt that the price I paid was ridiculous for such a run down place, & my nail beds itch from being soaked for too long. read more

I'm new to the area, and my daughter isn't the type to typically get a manicure or pedicure, so we went to Yelp first and did some research. Unfortunately, the places with the great reviews were either closed or too busy, so we decided to try Family Nails on Broadway and McCullen. My daughter got a manicure and I got a pedicure. My daughter's manicure was beautiful as was my pedicure. And the husband and wife owners were very nice and personable. However, they multitasked between all of us customers, instead of giving each of us individual attention, that we are paying for. And I never saw them open up any sterile packs to get their instruments out of, and they didn't use pedicure tub covers or disinfect and clean the pedicure tub, which I know is required (along with sterilization of all the instruments). And the prices are a bit high for the services you get (although I did enjoy the exfoliation/leg message). And there is no seating for customers. We will not be returning. We'll be patient and make an appointment with one of the higher rated salons. read more

I spent 35.00 with tip for a 25-minute pedicure there. It was awful. I wasn't able to soak my feet long enough to make them soft. I called back to see if I could come back and they told me to use vaseline on my feet at night. I will never go back. read more

I made a huge mistake going here to get my nails done the day before my wedding. I suppose its my own fault for going the cheaper route instead of paying an extra $20 and going to an actual spa to get it done, but normally these nail places do a wonderful job. My annoyance first started when they demanded that I make an appointment for the next day. Not a huge deal, but I had been hoping to be able to just walk in as I didn't know how long my other errands for the day would take. What annoyed me is that when I showed up there wasn't a single other customer in the place- so why did I have to make an appointment? My annoyance grew when I asked the guy to cut the acrylic nails shorter and he completely ignored me. He then rushed through the acrylic process which created tons of little air bubbles under the polish, not to mention two of the nails were crooked. When I pointed this out he just shrugged and said it was too late to fix it. I just hope its not too noticeable on my wedding photos of the rings. read more

I have gotten mani / pedi's all over the United States but I am proud to say that Family Nails is the best nail salon I have ever been to. They are not only the best manicurists because of the way they take their time to make sure everything is perfect, but they are the sweetest people on top of that. 100% recommend this place to everyone in town!!! read more

I am very unhappy with their services. I showed a photo and got a quote and prolonged. After getting them on, in the middle of painting they wanna jump the price, I am not okay with that. So I refused the art. Then they had all doors open and several times I explained I was cold and my infant was freezing as well, they didn't do anything. I will never go back, they need way better customer service, and to not hide what they intend to charge! When they basically made me leave due to arguing back- my nails are all chipped and not dry, they look horrible. I'll now pay more to get them fixed. read more

Love the gel nails here! The couple, Fiona and Terry, who work here are very sweet. They only accept cash or checks though, so make sure you bring that. They have a good selection of colors and they do great pedicures (not rushed like other local nail salons). I've gone to other nail salons (lc, the mall, us nails...) and my nails fell off the next day! My nails always last from family nails and my pedicure has a long massage and isn't half-asses. I had a horrible experience at this salon today. This is my second time getting my nails done at Family Nails, the first was for a gel full set and the second was for what I thought was a gel fill. It wasn't until the end of my appointment that I learned that I was getting acrylic. I was recommended to this place by a friend who went with me and got a gel full set the first time and a gel fill the second time. After our visit today neither of us will ever be returnung to this salon again. I was satisfied with my nails the first time...for about 2 hours. After I got home I realized there were air bubbles from the gel coat and also air bubbles where the tip had been applied. This caused later issues when the polish came off in the areas the gel was missing. All of my nails lifted and they all turned a yellow tint. I have had gel nails on for over a year before and I have never had so many lifts, or this yellow tint. No, I do not tan in beds or use lotion on my hands. My friend's nails were also lifting and yellow. Today I had to wait 25 minutes after my appointment time for the guy to start on my nails. My friend and I were there for over two hours. This is a ridiculous amount of time to spend in a salon for a fill. The fill was terrible, you could see the line where my old nails were and it was still yellow where the old nail was. I have never experienced this before and they tried to act like it was completely normal and there was nothing they could do to fix it. I suggested they paint the base, which they did and they looked better. My friend's nails were unprofessional as well and you could see the old lifts underneath. She was also disappointed because she had glitter tips and the last time we were there and she decided on the glitter tips they told her she could change the color and today she learned she could only change the glitter to a darker color that she didn't want. After we expressed that we were not happy they were both extremely rude and said there was nothing they could do that it was just how it was. Then, like I previously stated, I realized I was not getting a gel coat which I was extremely unhappy about. They kept saying that they told me it was not gel, but they never once said that or I wouldn't have gotten them. They also put a different kind of gel on my friend without asking what she wanted, when she wanted the same as before. In the end they even tried to overcharge my friend and told her 30 when over the phone the day before they said 25. I have worked many jobs in the customer service field and the first rule is that the customer is always right. These people clearly don't know this because they argued with us the whole time in front of other customers. Do not go to this salon. I would never recommend it to you. Yes, their prices are good but it is worth a few extra dollars to have nails that look well done. read more
