I wanted to give the restaurant a heads up that 7 couples would be there to compete in the "Brews and Lego" competition but the email on the website was returned not valid. I left a message on FB that got a response to use the same email and then had to call and leave a voicemail. I did eventually get a response. When we arrived a long table was setup already for us but we had to have one check. Several of our friends wanted their own table to avoid this mess and were refused. Our server stood at the end of the long table taking orders rather than coming closer and also handed out items from that end expecting others to pass them down (plates, drinks, food, etc.) As for the "Brews and Lego" there was a bowl of various pieces handed out to about 3 at our table. The waitress explained whoever builds the most creative thing wins a gift card to use at Red's. I don't know how the brew part tied in?? The finished entries sat on the bar. I don't know who judged them but we assumed no one at our table won because we didn't receive the gift card. I was hoping to see a high end wine selection but the menu didn't reflect that. This is one of those great local places that I always forget about. Then, when I remember it and return, I always think, "Why don't I come here more often?" Recently, I returned to check out Mingo - it's like bingo but they play clips of songs instead of calling numbers, then you check your card for the song title. It was fun and I enjoyed a great glass of wine and delicious popcorn. My favorite menu item is the bacon-wrapped dates - this was the dish that made me realize I love dates! Anyway, this place is fantastic. The servers are friendly and they usually have a calendar of events (like trivia, paint and sip night, etc.) Now, if I can just remember Reds when I'm looking for a place to hang out, maybe I can become a regular! read more

This place is awesome!! I went here for happy hour with a friend and it has a nice ambience. The waiter that checked on us throughout the night was very attentive and made sure we were good on our wine and food. He also was very helpful with helping us figure out our charcuterie board. The cab I had and the wine flight we had was delicious! It was very enjoyable and it all tasted very smooth. The charcuterie plate was amazing!! Most people probably wouldn't even notice, but there needs to be a lot more emphasis on the quality of the food. The good points. My friend's tacos were great, the broccoli appetizer was very tasty and had a fair amount of heat and my glass of Riesling was really nice. That said, truffle popcorn had no truffle taste whatsoever, the crab dip was pretty nondescript, I ordered the creamy chicken penne but with linguine and the chicken was supposed to be sauteed, but tasted like it had been cooked earlier and then reheated in the microwave. I picked out every piece of chicken because the taste was just not good. Luckily I wait person was kind enough to take that off the bill but I would have rather had a dish that I enjoyed. There were only a few specs of sun-dried tomato but big pieces of onion. I know the cheesecake was from Cash and Carry but the crust was a soggy mess and the touted chocolate sauce was Hershey's syrup from a can. Three of us wanted the cauliflower soup but they were out and wasn't getting it back in for a number of days. Please take it off the menu if it's not going to be there to order. read more

I thought this was a fun sort of chill place to land. It's pretty small but it's sort of a friendly little place. I landed to catch up with a buddy that I hadn't seen in a bit. It's a place he comes to a lot and he had anchored down on a couch in the corner with a beer. After grabbing a glass of Efeste, we hit the food menu. I had a plate of the garlic shrimp pasta, which was fine. Garlic breath ensued, but it was fine. Got some veggies in there too. My only knock was the chair needed some padding and I could feel the spring doing on a dance on my rear every time I moved. read more

I frequent this place on and off whenever I'm in the mood for some wine. They have a wonderful selection and can make excellent recommendations. They also do have 4 craft beers rotating on tap. This place is on the Southernmost far end of Kent Station. Parking is easy and it's easy to get in and out of. There's usually trvia on Tuesdays, wine tasting on Wednesdays, and live music on Saturdays starting at 8pm. I always get excellent service every time I have frequented this place. I usually order appetizers to go with wine but the last time I came here, we had ordered dinner. The food was delicious and the servings are perfect. The ambiance is very relaxing. It's a small venue but the way it is laid out, it is quite spacious. Highly recommended if you're in the Kent area. read more

First time here. Found it on Yelp and decided to check it out. We went on a Saturday night and there was live music which was very good. We ordered a flight of the 12th Man and all three were delicious. We also ordered their Truffle popcorn and a Charcuterie plate that was very good too. Most of our bill consisted of easy to poor alcohol and snacks and in this type of situation I give a mediocre tip. My credit card company contacted me asking if I intended to give a 30% tip?!! The wine is good. The food is OK, the service is less than amazing. Wine: They have a nice variety of flights and the staff is always willing to make a recommendation based on what you like. There is a variety of price points for you to choose from, and it's a nice change from coffee shops or beer. Food: The mushroom bruschetta is great. Probably the best thing I have had on the menu. The beef stroganoff is a close second. That said, the burgers are OK, the fries have come out soggy and burnt (gross), everything is a little overpriced for being mediocre. Service: They're terrible about staffing when they have events going on. On trivia nights, getting another glass of wine, ordering another appetizer or getting dessert is a challenge as you try to flag down the one poor waitress who is trying to help everyone. The kitchen gets backed up with UberEats orders and it feels like we're spending more time waiting to order or waiting on food then is reasonable. read more

I went to Reds Wine Bar for happy hour last week and was pleasantly surprised! I've been wanting to try this place forever and I'm glad I finally got the chance. The decor is cutesy while classy at the same time. It's not too pretentious but it's not exactly casual, if that makes sense. I was digging the chalkboard menus and walls, and loved all the wine racks everywhere! We got there right before happy hour ended - specials on food and $5 glasses of wine... Count me IN. I just ended up getting two glasses of the cabernet. They were super tasty and not too dry. For food, I ended up getting the hummus plate which was like $6 or something... Their hummus and pita bread is on POINT. The hummus was like the best I've ever tasted. The service was great - our waiter was funny and very personable. I think my only complaint is that I wish they offered better menu items. The food menu isn't very well-rounded and there's not much that sounded good to me. I've enjoyed it enough to join the club. The prices are pretty average for the area, but you don't have to go big to get a great deal. They have several events throughout the week including trivia, tastings, and live music. You will want to try to get in early on Wednesdays because the tasting is really popular, especially in the summer. They know their wines, and can give you good recommendations so you can feel somewhat more informed when shopping elsewhere. They are also a great place to pick up a random bottle that you may not find anywhere else. Reds Wine Bar has turned me back onto wines again, and it has been great. The layout in Reds' is kind of difficult to figure out if you've never been there. The bathrooms are hidden away in a hallway in the main building, and it sometimes helps to make sure someone sees you if you sneak in during the busy period. Service is very friendly, and the food is pretty good. You can just come for the wine though because it makes all the other things even better. read more

I'm no wine snob. I know enough though to enjoy a good red and come to terms with the fact that they give me terrible hang overs. The exceptional food, service and ambiance here would have me coming for sure. My first impression of the place on a Tuesday night at 5 pm, was a nice quite lounge of sorts with vineyard-esque decor. Complete with a sofa area to kick back in. We were greeted promptly and offered several suggestions which lead to the demise of our sobriety. I will say as the night went on the place filled up quickly and they had a DJ booth there hosting a trivia game. It seemed misplaced to me personally, however judging by other patron's participation it was apt. We caught the tail end of happy hour and ordered just about every dish on there. I actually missed the part where they served craft beers so I was a little disappointed I didn't try any of that. The truffle oil popcorn, bacon wrapped dates and the sausage flat bread were in my opinion the highlights of that menu. I could eat these three snacks all day long. read more

This place is great! A small wine and craft beer place tucked away in Kent Station, it has a great atmosphere and décor. The owner did a great job with the furnishing of this place to make it seem upper class but not snobby. First of all, having a wine bar also serve craft beer is genius. Not everyone loves one or the other so it's easy to appease groups of people. The selection of beer and wine is great. I had a German Riesling that was fantastic! I also HIGHLY recommend their caprese salad! They serve it in slices (my fave, as opposed to a bowl) with vinaigrette on the side. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful as well. The only downside is their bathroom is in what seems to be like an office building. It's past their kitchen, down a long hallway, out the door and in another. It's strange, but oh well. read more

Would actually give 2 1/2 stars if an option. Went here for lunch with my Aunt yesterday. It was my first time there & her second. She had been before with a group of coworkers for an after work get together. Other than the fireplace & warm colors on the wall I don't get a warm cozy feel here. The floors are concrete & the tables and chairs are set up kinda weird. They were busy setting up chairs & tables for outside patio dining starting soon. My Aunt had the BBQ Chicken Panini sandwich. All their sandwiches come with edamame as a side dish. I think that is yucky! I would much greater prefer coleslaw or potato salad or anything else other than soybeans. I had the cup of French Onion Soup & the half Caesar Salad. The soup was delicious, would get it again. The salad was half croutons. Yuck! The cheap kind out of a box or bag. You would think a restaurant that makes lots of sandwiches would have leftover bread to make homemade croutons with. The dressing was bland. Not much garlic or lemon flavor. Served with Pepperidge Farm crackers on the side. :( Ask for bread instead of crackers. I guess in summation I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. What a GREAT restaurant and wine bar situated in Kent Station. I had a really pleasant evening in this small and quaint restaurant. Everything was superb, from service to wine and food--I enjoyed it all.! Walked into the restaurant and it was empty and nobody was in the front. It took us a few seconds to realize it was self seating. We sat and were greeted by the waiter and waitress. I ordered the cheese and meat platter as well as the BBQ chicken panini with bacon. I asked the waiter what red wines would go well with the food that was ordered and he pointed my friend and I to a couple of glasses of wines that we enjoyed! The cheese and meat platter had so much variety! For 12 dollars I got pepperoni, procsuitto, salami, brie, bleu cheese, smoked gouda and sharp cheddar. It was served with a variety of crackers. In addition to the platter, I got the BQQ Chicken Panini:Zesty marinated BBQ chicken topped with sharp cheddar cheese and fresh bacon. YUM!!! Overall I had a great time here, the food was delicious and the wine was divine (rhyme haha). I would definitely come back here and would urge everyone to try this place out in Kent Station. Although we were the only customers there, its a place worth trying, FOR SURE! Also, here are a few significant days and times of the week to come: Monday through Friday from 4-6 is their happy hour. I'm very impressed with this place. At first I did not want to go in because for me was just a "wine" bar, after my husband convinced me, a very nice guy welcomed us. The place was not busy, a feel people at the bar. They have a huge selection for wines and they know what they are selling. We ordered shrimp ceviche and 2 more entrees and they all taste really good. The place is clean. What I am most surprised is how good I felt there, so friendly, looks like I am hanging out at a best friend's house. You all should check out this place! read more
